Most places up here are burgers, fries, pizza. This place has quality food, that you would want to go on a nice date, a special occasion, or just when you want to eat a nicely served meal. There's the fixed prix menu (three courses for $40). I would say it's well worth the money. I had their heirloom carrot salad, the braised beef, and the pumpkin tiramisu. The three restaurants in Powassan we attempted to visit were closed or takeout only. Second efforts revealed this little gem upon my search via Yelp. So a few things to note as I write this, the restaurant has 10 tables, including three booths, patio and probably seating for 34 people max, most seats have butts in them minus the patio. Upon arrival, we were told that service to each would take at least half an hour. However the server (who turned out to be the owner) put a rush order in for fries for the kids. Nat bad at all they were fresh. The kids ordered fingers, I ordered the double fish and chips. The fingers, were definitely some Sysco product that were well, Okish. Slightly above average from a frozen box. The fish ended up being haddock which was above my expectations and my daughter who isn't a big fan, loved it. The missed opportunity here is to source some local Bass or Walleye, and do it up in that solid panko they were using. The wait for food was unbearably long. I'm going to assume that the owner and cook (even though I saw two other employees) were not accustomed to being this busy. Maybe the equipment was not intended for that volume of people in a short span. The owner was very kind, she unfortunately wasn't on top of getting water for the kids or topping up my coffee. In the end the slow service was the worst part, a 2.75 to 3 the food a solid 4, the customer service was a 4.75, Mixed bag, but was made positive.

When I arrived, the restaurant was absolutely bustling, but the lady who helped me with our order was in such high spirits and was incredibly friendly. Even with how busy they were, she was so welcoming and made the pickup experience great. For my meal, I ordered the Creamy Pesto with Chicken, and I absolutely loved it. The sauce wasn't overly oily, had a nice, light basil flavour, and I really appreciated that they included Parmesan on the side so I could add as much as I wanted. My wife ordered the Spaghetti Primavera and really enjoyed it as well. She especially loved the goat cheese, which added a great flavour to the dish. The pasta here is definitely high quality. You can tell some care goes into it, and both of our mains were delicious. We also ordered the Arancini, which were just okay. We've had much better elsewhere, so they weren't really a highlight of the meal. The pasta, however, was excellent. We're definitely interested in coming back, hopefully on a nicer day so we can actually sit on the patio with the dogs, try more of the menu, and take in the views from the upper patio. The chefs are Indian and we were told this was their personal recipe from home. Risotto Button & shiitake mushrooms with fresh parmesan is apparently a dish that has been on since they started and it was definitely good. Slow Roasted Lamb Shank with red pepper jelly, mustard seed, roasted vegetables & red-skin smashed potatoes was surprisingly a touch sweet and one of the best lamb shanks I've had.
