Billy was never a pleasant person to deal with but I let his behavior slide. Chapman Fence was unable/unwilling to give me a date of installation, even after I paid the deposit and signed the contract. When I called Kelli to inquire of approximate time to wait for installation, I was not given an answer. I told Kelli that it wasn't a 'get it done ASAP thing', but the most important thing was that due to my varying schedule and profession of a professional dog trainer of 20 years, it was of UTMOST importance that we work together to set an actual date that worked for us all and that Chapman Fence, under no circumstances, was to arrive unannounced to my property to install fence as my training schedule keeps numerous client dogs on property. Kelli's response was, "Yeah, they'll call before they come". I learned on Friday, 1/30/15, that Chapman does not respect their client's schedules or necessary requests and don't even abide by their own contract which states "Owner must be present at the start of fence installation and assumes all responsibility for the location of the fence." As I was required to be gone at 8 am that morning due to a work emergency, I was shocked to look at my phone at 8:33 am to see numerous calls from Kelli and a text from her saying the fence guys were there and "would the big white dog in the back bite". Really? There's a 110 lb American Bulldog in the fenced in back yard and you are wanting to go back there and install a fence AND while the owner is not on property? That is Chapman Fence's business practice it turns out. I immediately called Kelli and told her to IMMEDIATELY get those guys off my property! I was not at home, I was at vet with my young rescue dog who was having a grand mal seizure and these trucks and guys show up, roam around my property while dogs are barking and let me tell you....my neighbors were thrilled at the unnecessary drama at 8 am :-/ Let me repeat, even after I made a direct request to Kelli, these guys showed up without permission and without warning. And to toss salt in a wound, the next day, Saturday (1/31), I sent a text to Kelli at 9 am saying I was available for fence building on 2/11 and 2/12 if that worked for them. I made no mention of previous day drama Chapman Fence caused. Deposit was paid and I moved forward. Reply text was "Diana Chapman Fence is no longer willing to install your fence. We are refunding your deposit by check that was mailed out yesterday (1/30). I have dealt with a lot of fencing companies over the years due to my work and Chapman Fence is the only one who has EVER caused me to write out a public review warning others. I'm off to find a new fence company!

Do not pay in full if there is something you need changed or if there is something that did not get done to your specifications. Once they have the full payment they ignore all calls and emails. We have tried to contact the owners on multiple occasions with limited response. The only time I actually got a response was when I told her I was going to leave an honest review and file a complaint with the BBB. Then, I was assured someone would be in touch to see when we could get the problem corrected. Yet, no one showed. The main fence gate was placed in the wrong spot and is literally on top of the house. Making it a challenge to get in and out the gate without it swinging wide open to the front yard. This obviously causes a problem when trying to not let the dogs out of the fence so in turn we don't even use that gate very much. There's argument on their end on why they put the gate there but at the end of the day we would have never agreed for it to go there or swing outward. It should have been checked with us first and/or corrected right away. Since the original agreement had the gate one section farther down. So here we are again. We were ignored for nearly 1 month after payment, then told someone would be in touch and most recently have been ignored again after I checked in another month later via email and phone calls. Still no response. I understand being busy but I do not understand not calling your consumers back and correcting a problem. It's unacceptable to go days, let alone months. Our fence work was put up in March. I will be following up with Georgia Consumer Protection Unit as well as BBB if concern is not addressed timely. However, given the fact that it has been over 3 months it probably won't be and I should probably just get my forms ready.

I am so glad I did -- they came in at 60% of what the others did, came out the same day to map it out and explain the permit process, and had it installed the next morning. Literally, less than 24 hours from first contact to completed, beautiful fence! The guy who came out to do the estimate was great, professional, and even helped solve a few problems with the property line, forested areas, zoning regs! The installers were just as professional, courteous, and did a great job. Can't believe how great it looks and am so happy that it was half of what the first few companies had me preparing to pay!

I asked for them to fix it and they came by and put dirt over the cement. Less than two months later the fence post caps have started to come off -- four so far have fallen off (pics attached). I emailed Johnathan about the cap issues and asked about the ten-year warranty that came with the fence. Instead of receiving an apology or coming out to properly affix the caps, he told me the caps don't typically come off and I would have to pay $100 for them to come out and fix it. Save your money and go elsewhere. While they claim they provide a ten year warranty for materials and workmanship, in practice it means nothing.
