I went for a 90 min couples massage with aromatherapy! It was amazing! The employees were pleasant and thorough! I will be returning

An average spa treatment. Nothing out of the ordinary. Only 2 parking spaces available both spaces occupied by either owners or workers, so be prepared to hunt for parking prior to your appointment. The therapist didn't speak any English so with this language barrier, she did whatever she wanted and I just had to make the best of it. The massage tables were uncomfortable and the sheets and towels were old rough on my bare skin. The amount advertised for the 90 min or 120 min treatment is totally different from what you will be charged on your way out. I find it distasteful and rude to demand a tip greater than 18%. At one point I felt uneasy and disrespected after paying for the treatment in full and leaving a tip greater than 18%. I wasn't aware that it was mandatory to have to pay an additional amount on top of the fee and Tip that was already paid. I wasn't sure I was allowed to leave if I did not leave atleast 30% tip to satisfy the cashiers demand. Not sure if this is a regular practice, however I won't subject myself to this embarrassment and uneasy feeling of disrespect. 06-04-2026 - @approx. 1pm est I received a call from someone named Sophia, saying they are "the manager" . The first red flag was I was text thru an automated system from the business then I was called from someone calling from a Pakistan phone number +92 99 239080. Conversation started pleasant and immediately went left once I began to explain my issue with the service & treatment I received while patronizing this establishment. It almost seemed like a rehearsed script used for all complaints and issues. First I was told that "maybe there was a language barrier , that was misunderstood. 2nd she immediately informed me that she saw my review and began contesting "my experience at this spa". 3rd she then told me that she "reviewed camera footage" , and this is what didn't sit well with me. This wasn't a call to resolve or fix a situation with a customer, this was more confrontational. She also said I was free to leave at anytime due to the fact that I stated , I wasn't sure if I would be allowed to leave without increasing the tip. I wasn't sure also accused of leaving a false review of my experience and at that point I asked if it was possible to get an email contact for the owner. The last thing this "manager" said before I ended the call was "this is what I mean, I am trying to work with you" as if she was doing me a favor. No thank you. Have a pleasant day. read more

I am writing to share feedback regarding my recent visit. Unfortunately, it was the most uncomfortable massage experience I have ever had. I requested soft-to-medium pressure during the session, but the therapist continued to use extremely heavy and aggressive pressure throughout. As a result, my entire back is significantly swollen today, and I woke up in much more pain than when I arrived. I am currently having to ice my back to manage the swelling. Rock Spa Club had been my go to - reasonably priced, good hours... until I was touched inappropriately by a massage therapist without consent repeatedly on my breasts.She kept pushing the cover off exposing my chest and wrapping her hands around each breast, despite me pulling covers up repeatedly to get her to stop. Rock spa is a must!!! I was treating my friend to a massage for her birthday and selfishly I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg. I was searching on Groupon and when I went to research the other spa, rock spa club popped up. 90 mins for $90!! You couldn't beat that. I was a bit skeptical like will the massage be any good? I'm proud to report the massage was great! She really got into the knots and even climbed up on the table lol My friend was so happy. Had my first massage tonight with Anjo..( Angel) The massage was great. She did exactly what I asked went from soft medium to more intense in my shoulder areas where I have most of my stress pain. And I also added the hot stones which was a plus that was my first time asking for that out of all the massages I've received. 60 mins for $60. And I tip Anjo $35 because I didn't make an appointment and walked in 30 mins before closing time. Not to mentioned I've been super stressed. I also enjoyed the service from start to finish. I had a couples massage with my husband and both the massage therapists didn't understand English. My husband's masseuse asked if he wanted medium or hard pressure, he said medium. Then, found out she was still too rough. My masseuse never even asked me and when I told her she was going to hard, she said "ok, medium". Then proceeded to go too hard again and I had to flinch from the pain and told her she's going too hard. Then, she laughed and said again "ok, medium". The room we were in was too hot that it made me dizzy and lightheaded by the time we were done. We both need a massage after our massage, because we're both in pain. The only positive is that they're cheap... but I'd rather pay more for a better massage! read more

Had an opportunity to visit Rock Spa on a Friday morning. I booked a reservation the day before and was texted a confirmation later that same day. Very easy! Street parking is available but this location shares the building with another business so parking can be tough. When you first walk in, there's a desk which I'd assume is normally occupied but the nice lady working was running around doing a few other things (bless her). No issues for me! It appears that they have plenty of rooms. When I was leaving, there was a couple wrapping up and they looked happy. Was quickly taken to a room where I was given the best 60 minute massage I've had in a while. The masseuse was careful, had a soft touch and took her time. This was my first time here figured I try a new place out. The place is clean and loved that the beds were heated under the blankets. The massage was decent I didn't like the fact that my masseuse had to come in and out of the room to get my hot stones, also dragging a chair in the room to sit was a little disruptive. The music was way too loud for a peaceful environment and you can hear all the chairs and table movement from the coffee shop upstairs. I visited this spa for the second time today for a facial & massage, their 120 minute special for $140 in an attempt to de-stress. Great facial, great massage. My complaints? The noise from the upstairs cafe (I guess they can't help that, but it's disruptive when you're trying to relax and can barely hear the spa music) and the abrupt rush to get you out the second you're done. Kind of rude. I know time is money but give people a second to get their feet back under them. Also, my room door was cracked while getting massaged. Hello?? I'm in my undies! My husband gifted me an aromatherapy and hot stone deep tissue massage. I arrived on time and was escorted to the room, which smelled clean and was neat and ready upon my arrival. Instructions were clear, I disrobed and laid on the table. One woman started the massage and then another came in shortly thereafter and replaced her. Overall, I enjoyed it. There were only a few things that prevented a 5 star review. I was never introduced to the woman who did the massage, so I wasn't quite sure who was working on me. While I was personally offended by this, I could see how this might be uncomfortable for some folks. Her pressure was good and she had really strong hands. The room was comfy and the environment was calm. However, sometimes outside noise from the hall made it a little challenging to fully relax. The Aromatherapy was great (I love lavender ) and my body definitely felt less tense by the end of my massage. However, it felt just a bit impersonal and abrupt. Idk how much of that reflects my personal preference, but I didn't necessarily feel welcomed to return again. That said, the location is convenient and I was able to park in their lot on the corner of valley and third. My wife and I recently came here for a couples massage. While we liked the massages, we were both taken back at our experience of checking out. First off, we felt a bit rushed when we checked in, but I can get over that. When we went to pay with a card we were pointed to the ATM which incurred a $1.75 fee....okay, sure. We then tipped $20, which is roughly 18% per person, which seemed reasonable. This is where it got weird. The woman ringing us out looked at us and asked "What is this?", referring to the $20 tip. When we told her what it was she said "Oh." in an insulting manor and then said it's $20 a person, which is nearly a 35% tip each. We gave it and left but that final interaction felt unprofessional and has bothered us. Especially after we declined adding an additional 30 min up-charge twice during our session. On the plus side, we enjoyed our massage and the establishment was clean and smelled nice. We may return, but are undecided. read more

I have been getting massages for 20+ years, from a range of venues including on the beach in Mexico, to the high end Madison Avenue and Central Park South spas. I have gotten over ten 2-hour massages from Rock Spa in the past several months, and they have easily been some of the best massages I have ever gotten and outrank even the swanky spas. Lisa is my go to masseuse of choice (though I have gotten massages from two others who were very good), and always leaves me feeling relaxed (I never want her massages to end!). She really works my tired muscles and is very thoughtful, asking if I'm doing ok, if the pressure is ok, etc. I will be a client of hers for life. There is a bit of music that can be heard from the coffee place upstairs, but it is easily forgotten once the massage starts and the spa's own wonderful, relaxing music is playing. The place is spotless, the table is gently warmed, and the staff is considerate and friendly. Ivy at the front desk is accommodating and very sweet and welcoming, and it is a joy to greet her upon arrival. I have actually stopped going to any other place because the all around package - excellent massage, value, professionalism - just can't be beat. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews; however, I had a facial done here on November 15th and felt as though I was robbed of my hard-earned money. It was a waste of my time and $90. The facial was rushed, my face still has a lot of buildup, and no blackheads were removed. I regretted it instantly. They put me in a room with the door open because the outlet for the steamer machine was outside the room. She placed the steamer over my face while massaging it. Then, she applied a mask to my face, which was left on for 25 minutes. She came back into the room, removed the mask, rubbed some cream on my face, and that was it. The cost was $90 read more

I received a painful massage which was even more peculiar when she got on the table to be able to apply added pressure. Brand new spa! If you go on their website you can see the services they have there. I Called ahead for an appointment and I was not disappointed. My masseuse Ivy exceeded my expectations on my deep tissue massage (I usually get a shiatsu massage but this was great as well) She asked what I wanted to focus on and worked well on my choice of: hard or medium pressure. As Ivy worked on the tension on my shoulders and neck.. I ended up falling asleep LOL the massage table was so warm and comfortable that you will be at ease. Ivy also used oil and hot stone. After the massage she wiped me down with a warm towel to take off the oil. I highly reccomend this place especially if you're near by. It is clean, new and fresh. My husband and I went here today for a couples massage. We were in between going here or a place in Maplewood's Village. Overall our actual massage experience was good. The place was very clean, smelled good and well decorated. You're probably wondering why I gave them 3 stars.... well.... I'm pretty good a doing quick math in my head. Our service was $60.00 per person totaling $120.00. Standard tip is 15-20% of the service price. So at checkout I gave them roughly an 18% tip. Once doing so, the front desk person told me that I owed them more money for the tip and told us a specific amount. I in the moment thought "hmmmmm maybe I did the math wrong in my head???" and proceeded to giving them the tip that they advised. Afterwards I felt a bit uneasy on our walk home questioning how I could make that kind of easy math mistake. hahaha maybe I was just too relaxed. Then when I got home with a clear head did the math again and figured out that what they were actually requiring was a 35% tip..... wtf....... Not sure if we'll be returning.... I honestly would much prefer pay a higher base price than being focused into paying high tips that aren't disclosed before the service. read more

Good massage. Reasonable prices and accommodating as far as quick appointments are concerned. Clean facility. The poor part is at check out. Feels like they don't trust you to tip the 35-40% they expect. You are also shepherded to the ATM machine for cash. I was going on a regular basis until my last experience where the woman at the front just tried to give my change to the therapist without consulting me. I stopped her midway then distributed the 20% I thought she deserved. My advice would be to include the 20% then give guests the option to tip more to make it less low brow. From the start this place customer service is great. With the appointment reminders and greeting when you come through the door. The place is clean and welcoming. Now for the massage. I was blessed and had the opportunity to work with Wendy. Wow! I couldn't believe I was given such a great massage at this price point. She literally was able to locate all my knots. They seem busy on the weekends with a lot of regulars so I felt a little rushed. But overall I would come back maybe during the week to see if the pace changes. This was my 3rd visit to Rock Spa. First off, on a positive note, the place is well designed and the oversized murals in the massage rooms are beautiful. Everything is spotless. The first masseuse was quite good (I think the masseuse's name was Wendy) and I wrote a glowing review, but the second massage was not good at all. I decided to give it another try last night, and the massage was ok, but the masseuse gave me attitude when I tipped her $20 on a $90 massage - which is over 20%. As I was leaving she held the $20 bill up as though she was insulted and asked if I liked the massage - I said, "yes" and she muttered, "oh" and turned her back to me. It was inappropriate, ungrateful and unprofessional. It made me very uncomfortable and soured the experience for me. I don't think I'll go back. A tip of more than 20% is generous and the manager should not be allowing this behavior from his employees.
