Had quite a few knots in my back with a stiff neck so I thought about going to fort lee. Happily I found something much closer. I called to inquire availability and luckily got in quickly. The person on the phone asked for my preference of male or female masseuse. The front of the house where the counter sits is separated by a door to where the general foot massages happen. Next to the foot recliner chairs are private rooms for body massages. Soothing music fills the air. The massage bed has a built in space for your face, which I like. Not a pillow to elevate your head or the face rest that sticks out at the end of the massage bed. A fresh new liner awaited for the arrival of my big head. The masseuse addressed all the knots and neck stiffness I had. She asked for pressure preference, which i advised to go hard. It was painful, I wanted to call out "mommy", but the pressure was much needed and eventually I started drooling from being so relaxed. I shall return next time I go too hard at the gym. They give you a card for a free massage after filling it with punches. read more

Second time in row I went there and they tried to take my therapist away mid- massage because they got a couple in. They favor the double income of pairs. Singles beware. The lady that answers the phone tried to take over but I knew she'd be focused on answering the phone and tending to walk-ins so I refused. The last time I was there, they stopped a massage for another woman at a half hour and told her to go because a couple walked in. The manager proceeded to give her a $5 refund for the cancelation of the second half hour. When I spoke up I was told to be quiet. I asked for a female masseuse and they said I had to have the make but all the women were there walking around chatting. The proprietor told me to lay down and not to worry. Then a male came in the room and said he was the only one available. Not ok since I was clear. I had a very uncomfortable massage. The. I paid and they could not put the tip on my card and I said I'd go get money across the street at the bank. Do you know the male masseuse followed me across the street to the bank and back. Top-notch massages! My husband and I did 30 minutes foot reflexology and 30 minute full body. This place rivals some of the high-end spas I have visited. In fact, I had a massage in AC a couple weeks ago and I have to say the massage I received from Tony was better and for about half the price. I love the comfy chairs they use for the foot massage. My husband enjoyed his massage with Jessie and said she was very strong and even worked out some of his kinks. He's built like a body-builder so not everyone can give him a good massage! I just came from there moments ago. I usually go there for my massage, today I'm sick and not feeling so well. I go in expecting to have a good experience and end up with a tough massage. 1 hour later, I go to leave. I figured I should tip even though the massage was terrible, so I pull out $5 because honestly... I AM PISSED OFF. I AM NOT RELAXED. BUT who knows how they are living. So I tip. The two owners in the front demand $6 more staying the tip is a mandatory $11. The massage person was not worth that tip. I also think its disgusting of the establishment to demand tips. Had a safe and relaxing foot massage. Since being home for so long it was nice to do something normal. Once arrival , they take your temperatures and provide hand sanitizer. This is my new SPOT!! I've come in a few times for just reflexology and reflexology and body massage. Not all Masseuses (is that the plural) are created equal. One guy began my leg/foot massage with more of a run that massage. When I asked for more pressure, however, he adjusted and I walked away happy. Somehow time flies by when I'm here and it's never long enough!! Even opted for a 45 reflexology and a 45 min body massage and I could have spent even more time there!! The full body work seemed to be a little different than a typical Swedish as it works more than just your back although that is the main focus. Much needed massage that did not disappoint! A really great addition to the West Orange community. As I walked in, I was greeted by a kind gentleman that checked me in for my 6:00 appointment. The waiting area decor is skimp, with just the front desk and couch, but I didn't wait long before Sofia, my reflexology therapist, welcomed me into the spa. The lounge chairs lined up against the wall were comfortable as I received my amazing 30 minute reflexology session. I was then escorted to the private massage table for the 30 minute body massage, which was out of this world. I had forgotten to mention to her my problem areas that I would like to focus on, but it wasn't necessary since she found them on her own and spent a good amount of time working out my knots. Understand it's s bit more no frills and a little bit less privacy than most massage places- you could hear a lot of the walking around, snoring, and the foot massage is a row like the nail salons. So I always say I'm going to review places but I get busy and never do. But I had to make sure to review this place because it is fantastic. It's very clean and the people are friendly. I live in DC, so I only get to come when in Maplewood visiting family. I usually try to see Linda. She seems to really know her stuff, as opposed to some of the store front places you go where you get a "foot rub", rather than real reflexology. And their prices are beyond reasonable. Today 30 minutes of body work and 60 minutes of reflexology for $75. And I'm so happy with today's service from Linda that I tipped her $50. Oh, and did I mention that I was here yesterday? LOL! I go home home tonight so I had to get it in before we leave. If there is a down side to this place it's that they now only take cash which, if you're like me and pretty much never has cash, it's a bit of a hassle. Great treatments however it's more about the money than your enjoyment and relaxation. I walk in, ask for a massage, and I am instantly told "pay first, tip when you come out." I paid for a 60 minute service and the service was 55 minutes inclusive of putting my socks and shoes back on. The masseuses at this place are experts at getting to those deep knots and not everyone is able to withstand. They'll start off by asking you how firm you want to be touched, but by default this place is meant for deep tissue massages. A typical session has you feeling like a mashed up piece of dough where your muscles give way to the masseuse because it realizes resistance is futile.. For some, the process can be uncomfortable but you just need to let the masseuse know to be gentler. End result is you're driving home feeling like you're floating.. Is it the technique and years of mastery that makes you feel this way? Perhaps.... or is it that you undergo so much discomfort for 1hr that when you're done your body is in heaven because its telling you to not do it again?
