I got my eyebrows micro bladed by Darnell twice. the first time they were good enough but they healed with so many blotches. I went back to get them touched up a year later and she was out of the color she originally used. She didn't tell me this before she started tattooing and it was more red and the shape was completely different. She used hard strokes instead of feathering. I need to get them touched up again and will not be going back. Definitely don't recommend. Darnell, thank you for reaching out. I am writing a review now because I need to get my eyebrows fixed. I actually came in 3 times. The second time I came in was for touch up's and I was charged even though I shouldn't have been. Despite this, I came back a third time. You absolutely told me that you didn't have the same color as my first appointment but "it was basically the same." I didn't come back for my touch up the second time because I thought you would charge me again. I've attached a photo. I appreciate your edit noting that touch ups are required. As I said before, I did go back after about a year. Unfortunately, as you can see from the photo, the shape is uneven and looks blocky instead of natural. Additionally, the color doesn't match my natural brows. From the photo I posted, do you stand behind this work? I've gotten a few other recommendations and will need laser removal (which isn't guaranteed because of the red tones.) My intent posting this review is that others are aware of the lack of consideration taken for a permanent service. My eyebrows do not look good; even though they have faded, you can not argue the shape or why there is no color in the middle. I bought a Groupon for tattoo removal, I was burned pretty bad during my session. She realized and tried to give me free aloe and oil. She said she got me pretty deep and would turn the machine down. I didn't know how bad it was until I had left and had a huge blister by the time I got home. I wasn't going to say anything because they gave me Groupon credits back but it's over a week and I have a super deep burn that's painful. I've been cleaning it and keeping it covered so be cautious. read more

I sat there for over 15 minutes without even being acknowledged. I kept looking around, and no one even nodded or checked in with me. When the stylist finally came over, she told me it would still be another 10 minutes while she was actively foiling another client's hair. She explained that she would move that client to another chair while the color processed so she could start on me, but that's not the experience I expected. I came in prepared to spend money on a service, not to be juggled alongside other clients. The salon itself was just as bad as the service. The space is cramped, chaotic, and anything but relaxing. Instead of feeling professional or welcoming, it felt overwhelming and poorly managed. To make matters worse, the entire place smelled like weed. I don't care what people do on their own time, but I absolutely do not want my hair done in an environment that smells like a smoke session. read more

I usually don't leave reviews, but I wanted to share my experience. A week before my appointment, I walked in to book services for my nails, toes, and haircut since they were fully booked that day. They took my name and number but entered my number incorrectly, so I never received any confirmation or policy details. My original nail tech ended up canceling, and I was rebooked with someone else. On the day of my 1:30 appointment, I called at 12:45 to cancel (a full 45 minutes ahead ) and no one mentioned any cancellation fee over the phone. Later, I received a text at 1:33 saying I'd be charged $35. I paid it, but it was disappointing that she later claimed I canceled only 20 minutes before and tried to place the blame on me for not knowing the policy. I completely understand that businesses have policies, but professionalism means communicating them clearly and treating clients honestly. I'm not upset about the fee itself it's the lack of professionalism and transparency that's frustrating. read more

I went in to get my nails done the only time I have this year to get my daughter's nails done as well. The salon was closed for a snowstorm, which was no problem. I agreed to come in the next day, but when coming in after paying on Groupon, I find out that she would rather me pay her Zelle because there is no safety or policy for my money through Zelle, where there is on Groupon. Originally, I paid on Groupon $30 for $60 value, which is the highest package she painted my nails, forgot the hot towel the massage the paraffin wax so at least half of my service was not done. I reached back out to her and the company because she is an individual owner. They cannot do anything. Which I understand, but the only offer she told me that she can double my parents which anybody who does knows that's not going to do anything. So she did not do half of my service refused to give me either some of my money back or to redo the service Additionally, telling myself I shouldn't enjoy myself And when calling the store to speak with the manager to see if there was just anything that could be done Even those she reached out to me the first message to let me know her name and that she was doing the service on her personal number. iMessage her after the service just to know that I was unhappy she told me to leave her alone and then when I called the store to ask if I could get help she tells me she's filing for harassment. I only messaged her after to discuss service and I called the store twice because A manager said they would call back and I did not hear anything when going into the store. The manager apologized saying that that was disrespectful for her to talk that way hoping that I would utilize a different service. read more

I went in for a dip manicure on Saturday afternoon. 2 of the nails chipped the following day. I contacted Berni and she agreed to the 2 nails. Had an "express massage" advertised to include nail care, cleaning, trimming and abbreviated foot massage. The actual pedicure did not include cleaning or scrubbing of the foot?? What???? Was then told basically just a nail polish. Oh vey. So got a pedicure without the actual foot be "cleaned". When I showed that website does not indicate at any point that the actual foot toes heel would not be attended to. Response. Br(owch) revisited. I don't frequent Yelp often. Today however, I realized that the owner of Rock Star Beauty Lounge left me some pretty scathing messages six months ago -calling me a liar without proof of service and proof of botched eyebrows. Far be it for me to be a Petty Betty...but I'm not a liar, so here are both. Secondly, it took several corrective sessions at Wicked Beauty Studio to fix my eyebrows this past fall and winter. Wicked Beauty Studio did a tremendous job. They include touch ups in the price of a micro-blading session. Actually use a measurement system to plot placement and guarantee their work. Check them out. Thirdly, I called Rockstar Beauty Lounge as well as emailed them 3 weeks after the initial procedure. I attempted to inquire how much it would be to get my tragic brows Darnell did, totally redone. Neither correspondence was answered. They were given a chance at correcting the initial botched service they performed and didn't. Finally, any professional business owner should offer an apology instead of a rebuttal when met with unsatisfied customers. If Yelp is requesting honest reviews and one is given only to be berated in an aggressive manner- it puts the consumer in a precarious position. Any inquiries? I wanted to love this place! Arrived and stood there for 5 full minutes before being greeted even though a stylist was doing hair 3 feet away. Had my nails done by Sara. She was friendly. She removed my existing shellac. She did not trim my cuticles (which definitely needed it) & didn't have me wash my hands after the acetone soak, filing and buffing. She did French on my nails. Glitter polish on the tips came out lumpy and unravel. Showed her what I wanted for nail art which was holly & berries. What she did is not recognizable at all... red dots and green smudges. No lotion or hand massage at the end...just a bit of cuticle oil. I have excess polish under & around my nails. My hands don't look like I had a manicure and are worse off than when I started. Taylor is the one that styled my hair she cut off all the dead ends she layered it shampooed it blow-dried it it was absolutely amazing. I made an appointment online. The tech rescheduled twice, moving it from 9 to 10 to 11. Then I waited (and I don't know why I didn't just leave - I should have) 40 minutes before she was ready for me. She was on her phone a lot. She also burned me after realizing I had changed my nail color on my own then was clearly angry and dug into my nails with the sanding bit on her drill. She never apologized for pushing my appointment back then having me wait 40 minutes. Instead she compared a nail salon to a doctor's office...um, no, there's nothing emergent about a manicure - Just realize you messed up and apologize. The topper was that I thought I might expect a break on the bill since I basically was out most of my day, nope, she charged me $45 for a rebase. Never again. read more

Worst nail experience I've ever had. I booked dipped nails and pedicure a week in advance. At the appointment, she thought I was there is get my hair done. Then tells me she does not do dipped nails (they should have never accepted my appointment for dipped nails then). We agreed to do shellac. I had a family vacation planned and was leaving the next day, so I felt I had no choice but to compromise. My "pedicure" was just sugar scrub, nail file and paint on the toes. No soak, no lotion, no massage, no cuticles cleaned up. The color I showed was a coral color, but once one was a bright orange. I am thinking it was a shellac color that did not cure, so changed color. Also, it was so thick, bubbly and streaky. She also put my sandals on after one coat and got nail polish all over my sandal. As for my finger nails... I had dipped nails on my nails at the time, and the lady did not know how to take them off. She let them soak too long and tried ripping them off. Which took my real nail off. I then asked if she could use the electric nail file to get them off, she did. But it was up so high it burnt my nail. SO painful. I should have left then, my mistake. She proceeded to do my "shellac" which was 2 thin layers (French manicure), which was so light and streaky, you could hardly tell my nails were painted. And the first nail chipped 2 days later and by day 7 (I was still on vacation) every single nail was chipped. I will never return here and would recommend staying away. So this used to be my place to go. I have been getting my haircuts for 3 years by the same two people; Tyler or Freddie. Want to know dedication? I have followed them to every salon they go to because they are that good. So when Tyler told me she was starting her own salon, of course I was a customer for life. And it was even better that Freddie was coming along too. Recently called to make an appointment, asking for Tyler, only to be rudely informed by whoever answered the phone that she no longer worked there. Ummm...she's part owner, and I know she didn't quit the business. Ask for Freddie. Same answer, but with more attitude. Now I am confused. So, here it is. Tyler is no longer available for bookings at Rock Star. While she is still one of the owners, she can't be reached there anymore. If you're like me and have followed Tyler or any of the other great stylists to Rock Star, and they aren't there, looks like we are in the same boat. Yes, I am leaving a two stars. Why? We only chose the express pedi cuz not sure about cleanliness of the place or spa tubs. Had planned on nice long pedis w/foot massages, the whole deal, but didn't feel welcome or comfortable. Lots of glitter. Most techs put your sandals on before polish so don't 'ding' it, right? Not here-then she bumped toe and had to redo. Acted like it was MY fault. Then just walked away: not "thanks girls your polish is dry. We'll meet you at the counter." Nope. Not here. One tech didn't even thank us. Hopefully no issues with our pedis health wise. Decided to go here due to the fact that they great reviews and the pictures of the nails were awesome! But I fact I paid 45 dollars for crap! My nails are uneven and the paint is alllll over the place. Usually with my gel nails when I put shellac paint it is beautiful. I don't know what this technician did. My old polish is still on my nails!! Then he had the audacity to tell me he might cut me. I'm like well if I'm paying you 45 dollars, I BETTER NOT BE! And I sure as heck don't think it's funny. I found a Groupon for Micro blading with Darnel. I was unsure but looked at her reviews and was pleased with what I saw. Folks I am over the moon Happy!! I have never had good eyebrows. I wanted to get Denver Broncos nails, so I called 2 days beforehand and asked for a tech who had a nail art experience and could do great Denver Broncos nails. She suggested Audra, and I made an appointment with Audra for Saturday, but when I called Saturday morning to confirm she said Audra wasn't working that day, and she would put me with another tech who "was awesome" and would do a great job on my Broncos nails. The tech tried really hard and was very nice, but it was obvious she had never done Broncos nails before and she struggled for an hour and a half. They look ok but I could probably have done them myself for what I got. Very disappointed, as I should not have been switched and then told she had "tons" of experience doing Broncos nails" as that was untrue, it seemed like I was her first. I nor noone else wants to hear about the negative things going on in your personal life as well as your work life. Worst nail appointment ever! After canceling my appointment twice I finally went in for a manicure with a few friends. The tech would not let me do what I had asked for because it would take two hours which would've gone over their hours because she was late to my appointment. She proceeded tell me I could only get a shellac manicure which chipped the next day. I just paid $50 for a manicure I can get better and cheaper at many other salons. The tech was very rude and constantly left the table to the point I had to ask the receptionist were she went and the owner was walking around the restaurant eating a Wendy's burger while having conversations with clients. I got a gel pedicure done today and it was not worth the $55. I am very disappointed and will not go back to Raquel again. I have never had this fast of a pedicure any where. She didn't even get all the callouses off and mine are not that bad. She hardly talked to me and the main reason I go for a pedicure is to make sure my feet are all nice and smooth. Today was my first time in. I had been going to a different nail salon down the street for years and recently left there unsatisfied. I read some reviews and was a little discouraged because they only had 2 stars. Was presently surprised that the service was amazing when I got there. Darnel did everything I asked with my acrylic nails. She went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable with how they do designs here.
