I didn't have my drivers license but had my passport card, my partner had both. She asked for both our IDs, normal since we were together. We both gave her our passport cards, but apparently the system they have isn't calibrated to scan passport cards. When I told her I only had that on me, she refused to sell to us and somewhat insinuated we could be undercover cops. I heard they have done this before to other people who looked too young even if they had a valid identification. We just went across the street for what we wanted. Pretty annoying.

While there was an abutting Shell gas station, my car was good on gas, so my primary objective was nourishment. I parked in the strip of parking on the side of the building, which had a side entrance/exit. I entered and exited through the entrance on the front of the building, which also had a parking area. Inside I found a variety of offerings, some Jacksons brand, such as baked goods, hot foods, and beverages, and some other brands including things like frozen novelties and chips. The location also had an ATM. I arrived late enough in the morning that some of the hot food items were on super sale. The two items I went with were a Foster Farms jalapeño and cheese corn dog for $1.99 and a Jacksons chorizo, egg, cheese, and bacon burrito for $2.50 (both prices were pre-tax). With tax my total came to $4.94. Both items had nutritional information on the packaging. Payment was straightforward and the workers I interacted with were friendly and appeared in good moods. My exact coinage was even readily accepted. Both food items were warm and tasty. No one interrupted me while I ate in my car. The caloric total for both items was 800, which was a perk as I found the two items together to be satisfying as a lunch. I appreciated the proximity of the location to the nearby highway(s).

I forgot something on my way home from errands, so yesterday stopped in to grab it at inflated convenience-store prices. Walking in, everything was clean and bright, and of course every inch of floor is packed with all the different corporate candy and snack merchandising. Both guys working were friendly and cheerful, and clearly kept themselves busy sweeping and stocking and whatnot when foot traffic was low. They have big long banks of coolers, all the doors are new and clean and crystal-clear. Everything is fully stocked front to back and side to side. They seem to have all the usual suspects in stock. I got a Gatorade, and I got my lovely bride her Lifesavers. They're literally 4x the cost than if i had remembered to grab them at the supermarket, but that's what I get for not wanting to double back. I rarely hit convenience stores unless I am being awful about snacking on a road trip. That's such a habit for me that I was almost sad not to be driving out to the coast or something after I paid...lol

Pro tip: Don't be intimidated by the stoic, standoffish staff at the deli counter or the register. Enjoy the culinary experience wandering their grocery aisles and remember your shopping bag(s) to package up your purchases. Because I had also stocked up at the other market in Tacoma, I noticed similarities in the product availability. However, I was able to find other things of interest especially in the smoked meats, condiments, chocolates, and biscuits areas. I enjoyed looking closely at their wine and spirits section...unique labels I would not find at my usual Ravenna wine shop in Seattle. Me and my family shop here faithfully and today Brian in the seafood department ruined that. As we…read morewere shopping today my wife pointed out the oyster case had some very large/jumbo oysters which is typically a rare occasion at this location and we always grab them when we see it. After we waited about 10 minutes in front of the oysters Brian yelled across the seafood area asking if we were ready and we said yes. He never walked over and waited to hear what we wanted all the way from the fish area which already made my wife uncomfortable and mentions to me "he seems like he's going to be rude" by just his demeanor. Once finally approached I pointed out there were 3 large bags in the oyster tank and the bag that was open was 1/2 way sticking out of the water and i specifically asked for a dozen from any of the other bags that were completely submurged to avoid any potential food poisoning. and his response was a rude as can be "Nope, I'm not opening any other bags if you want oysters you are picking them from that bag". I was mind blown and in shock as a long time customer being spoken to like this was insane. For years even before this was "Town & Country" we have been shopping here and have always had such a pleasant experience with every encounter except this guy. Brian you do not deserve to be in this industry or treat customers in this manner. Do better T&C, i doubt we will be back after this.

We were followed to our car and asked to not come back. Seriously? I actually went back inside and took photos of the staff running away from me. We weren't violent. We didn't cuss. We weren't loud. We just called you out for being a money-hungry conglomerate charging as much as the richest customer will pay. You should be ashamed at how exclusionary your store really is.
