First, his staff are so welcoming and warm- you can tell they truly love animals and are excited to see your animal! Second, the time he takes with your pet makes you feel like you are his only patient. I'm never rushed, never brushed aside etc. My questions are answered in thorough detail (even the crazy ones!). Finally he really gets to know the pets as if they were his own. He remembered intimate details about my cat's personality that he puts into practice to make her visit more comfortable (things I wish our pediatrician would do!) and we both feel at such ease when we enter the premise. I feel the value $$ wise is also beyond fair. It's not a "one size" approach. Dr Gaylord truly customizes the appointment to what's needed and isn't only looking to his improve bottom line. Customer service is a dying art so when it's good, it must be celebrated! Run don't walk to this practice for your pet needs- it really reflects its name sake- truly a neighborhood gem!

We wanted to see if someone closer to home would sell her the fluids - without seeing the cat. We hoped we could have her regular vet provide a prescription. We called several local veterinary clinics. We got a lot of recorded messages, and spoke to one guy who was not enthusiastic about helping. I finally tried County Animal Hospital and Wendy answered the phone. She was sympathetic and seemed genuinely interested in helping us. She spoke to Dr. Wiener and we were able to work something out. My mom was able to get the fluids and take care of her kitty. Wendy really went out of her way to help. You can tell when someone actually cares. We were so grateful!

The facility is very nice and clean. Welcoming, for sure. The front desk ladies were nice. The doctor and his assistant were fantastic with handling my dog (she's quite anxious as well). For the first time, I didn't see her put up a fight! This visit was much cheaper than my previous doctor visits at her old doctor. Not only that but the doc explained everything as he was examining her. I was happy when he gave me things to help treat Venus' infection instead of just saying it's "normal" and nothing to worry about. I'm glad I trusted my gut. I was quoted a specific price for the services and dropped my pet off. When I returned to pick them up I got a much higher invoice. I referred to that quote, and I was told that THEY provided was incorrect and was completely expected to pay the higher cost. When I asked the practice to honor the quote I had received, the conversation became argumentative and, from my perspective, quite unpleasant. What started as a simple pricing discrepancy got ugly, and I felt that instead of acknowledging the situation and trying to resolve it, I was being blamed for it. All the while I was waiting for them to give me back my pet after their procedure. For the years I went to this practice- I also felt pressured to proceed only according to the practice's exact terms, without meaningful consideration of my concerns. The interaction left me feeling that there was very little empathy or understanding for the owners concerns or perspectives. Because of the complete lack of empathy, professionalism, and clear communication I experienced, I would not return to this practice. I encourage others to carefully consider these factors before choosing this veterinary office.

Our dog receives regular veterinary care in both states to ensure there are no gaps in his medical treatment. Our dog suffers from chronic itchy skin, which is successfully managed with Cytopoint injections. Before contacting this practice, he had recently been examined by our veterinarian in Florida and was current on all vaccinations and routine care. I even offered to provide his complete medical records so they could verify his health status and recent treatment. Despite this, the practice refused to administer his Cytopoint injection unless we first paid for a full wellness examination. The explanation was that they needed to make sure he was "happy and healthy." Given that he had just been examined by another licensed veterinarian and I was willing to provide those records, this requirement felt unnecessary. What was most disappointing was that my dog continued to suffer from significant itching while we were being told to schedule and pay for an additional office visit. It gave the impression that revenue was being prioritized over the immediate comfort of a patient with a well-documented, ongoing condition. Over the years, I have often felt that this practice recommends or requires every possible billable service. This experience reinforced that perception. I understand that veterinarians have professional responsibilities and must practice within appropriate standards of care, but I believe there should also be room for reasonable clinical judgment, especially when treating an established client whose pet has recent records from another veterinarian. Unfortunately, this experience has caused us to reconsider whether we will continue using this practice.

So went back to Dr. K again. Although this was a very painful day for us our Brodie Boy was put down in a beautiful peaceful way. Dr K, his lovely wife Mary and assistant really helped us through it. So professional and supportive. We got his remains back today and it was such a beautiful presentation. Mary gave us a lovely personalized card from them to us too. Valley Cottage Animal Hospital was not my fur babies doctor but since her doctor is 45 minutes…read morenorth when she was clearly ill a few weeks ago we had to rush her to VCAH as they are 5 minutes away. I knew going in that Allie wasn't going to make it and they were nothing but kind and caring. They gave me time with her before and after. I was so upset and forgot to ask if i would be able to have her paw print and a few days later in the mail I received a condolence card with her paw print signed by a lot of the staff. I was so grateful for this and my dad set me up to be able to receive Allies ashes. The pet cemetery not only provided a box with a picture frame with Allies ashes but also a clay block with Allies paw print. I can not speak for their medical services as Allie only went there once as a baby (which was a good visit just ended up with a family vet over the years) but I must say please keep doing what you are doing for grieving families. Ive spoken to others who have dealt with other animal hospitals and they didn't receive all the services and kindness i did. I truly am grateful that I have all this to remember Allie. Its all because you guys do the thinking for us while we are too upset to deal.
