Brooke appeared with also a warm welcome and fast service. My broccoli cheese soup was thick, creamy and hot. The 1/2 size Rueben was wonderful! I love that they offered half a sandwich, as it was large w/ non-fatty !! Corned beef. It also came with a pickle spear and a little coleslaw. Very unfriendly hostess (looks like a 12 yr old). I waited at my table very long so asked for a server. Flagged the hostess asking for service. She went out back and apparently found someone. Never apologized! The server Helen T was the rudest server (must have gotten mad I asked for service)? Rockne's... I've loved you for a very long time. But enough is enough. I understand costs have gone up across the board. I get it. But Rockne's has taken "price gouging" to an entirely different level. I just got half a grilled cheese ($7.99) added fries ($3.99) and a soda ($2.99). I also asked for a small side of their house dressing, which now apparently costs an additional 75¢. That's $15.72 for half a sandwich; fries and a drink. Once you add taxes and a $4 tip, I'm sitting at $20.74 for half a sandwich, fries and a drink. That's unacceptable. Especially since I know what your food costs are. At most; this should have been a $10 meal, and you're still getting a 400% markup. Instead, you try and squeeze blood from a turnip. This is going to be my last visit until these prices come back to earth. read more

Nothing spectacular but very solid on a Monday night. The Philly cheese steak was big and flavorful and the fries were abundant. Prices are reasonable and the service was on point. Certainly better than average pub food and a relaxed atmosphere make this an easy stop. read more

Although not in a historic building, they have the charm of the original Rockne's in Akron. Tin ceiling tiles and lots of stained woods, brings the feeling of those here. Service is good, and food is always good, hot and very large portions. Good value for the price. read more

We live an hour away from Massillon but have eaten at the Massillon Rockne's 3 times in the last month because we've been pleased with the food and service. So far, we have not had a chance to sample many of their food items. The hamburgers we've tried have been very good, and the chicken tenders meal and shrimp meal were both good too. Everything so far has come with a HUGE plate of fresh cut fries. Most meals have been more than we care to eat, and the prices seem reasonable for the quantity of food. Service has been good too, despite current employee shortages in this area. read more

I love this place because it has a wide variety of food to pick from and it is consistent in the quality. We took our 15 year old granddaughter who picked Chicken al fredo and said finally someone who knows how to make it right, translate "how she liked it" The Lobster Bisque is wonderful, salads, and sandwiches. It is not gourmet but good. Unfortunately their Pot Stickers were taken off the menu because their supplier couldn't fill the order, but they were great. We were at Rocknes in Massillon at 11:03 and the door was still locked. Finally at 11:05 Dorothy came out to open the door. She unlocked it and turned around without pushing it open. Then we went inside and she ignored us for a couple of minutes as she reviewed her seating chart. We were the only ones in the place. She finally took us to a small booth. She did not say anything to us, like a server will be right with you or anything. We sat there for five minutes without anyone and I mean anyone coming by to say hi or get an order etc... We left the restaurant and told Dorothy in a very sarcastic tone what wonderful service and she smiled at us and said you're welcome. Needless to say we will not be back. Not sure what in the heck Rockne"s has done to their Firestone chicken; but it is worse than AWFUL!!!!! Used to be the best thing on the menu... Not sure if it is coming in pre-cooked now, or just a low quality chicken breast. Does not even cover the bun! One side is thick, the other side of the chicken breast is thin. By the time they grill the crap out of it, it is so tough, you cannot even chew it!!! It used to be so tender, juicy, and so delicious... Now is it tasteless, and tough like shoe leather!!! Waitress even remarked that she would not get it!!! She stated that they get ALOT of complaints about it!! We asked that she pass our concerns to management. She said that she has worked there a long time; and might be able to get away with telling them. We asked what do you mean...? Very disappointed in our last visit to the Massillon, Ohio restaurant. Wanted to take out our daughter who had run the Hall of Fame Marathon that morning and it was a bust for her. She is a vegan and they used to have a sandwich with a portabella mushroom. That was no longer on the menu and they had nothing else for her but a salad. The waitress didn't even try to figure out something for her. Service was not at its best. We usually love going there but this put a damper on an otherwise great day for our daughter. My friend and I decided to have dinner before we went to the movies. We both order almost the same thing. She had a southwestern chicken salad and I had the chicken fajitas. The presentation was terrible, food wasn't even hot. It seem like the chicken was warm up in the microwave. Greasy and bland, but the service is okay. Rockne's is a casual dining restaurant featuring burgers, sandwiches, and typical bar and grille fare at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, the food is -- meh. "Bland" would be a compliment. It's as if the line chefs at Applebee's decided to throw off the shackles of their corporate master and set out on their own, but forgot to steal the recipes. I am fairly convinced that the burger I ordered came from a cow who had not been treated with bovine recombinant growth hormone, but with bovine recumbent ennui hormone. The bottom line is there are more exciting culinary choices in Massillon, and certainly better places to get a tasty hamburger, like Wendy's. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

This was a place I used to eat at fairly often until one evening i found a half chewed toothpick in my food. I found it by biting into it. This was a carry out order that was already messed up, which I had to drive back over once already on this occasion to have it corrected. Then I get back home again with the corrected order only to find this disgusting toothpick in my food. Needless to say, I was really irritated. When I called the girl said well bring it back for a refund. No apology. When I got back there AGAIN the manager gave me my refund, but again, no apology. The next day I emailed Rockne's main office and told them about it, I was totally ignored. No reply. I wasted time and gas (there and back 3 times that evening!!!!!) Thanks for the refund, but what about and an apology and some gas money????? I'll never eat there again. read more

It is wrong and the staff is incredibly rude when I call back to get my order fixed like I'm trying to get free food or something. No I just want to pay for what I ordered!! My husband & I have eaten here many times. Last year we had a large? party of 8. After waiting over an hour, told to wait a few mins. & watching people be seated while we stood there being ignored, we left & went to a wonderful place down the street. So we decided to try it again. Bad idea! It was just the 2 of us so we didn't have to be ignored this time. We ordered the Terminator sandwich, a cup of Mushroom Brie soup & a cup of Potato Ham Soup. Food was good & hot. The silverware, all of it, was filthy!! Hunks of dried food particles, horribly filthy! Thank goodness we only had to use soup spoons. Waitress was an overbearing loud speaking woman. Not very friendly like other wait staff we've had previously. She never cleared away dirty plates, refilled my raspberry iced tea once with regular tea after it sat empty for a while & she disappeared. And the bathrooms do smell awful & they are right off the kitchen. So we are not ever going back. I'm thankful we never got sick. Not taking another chance!! read more

I order a Bacon cheese burger didn't get nothing but cheese on it? server didn't ask how I wanted it cooked or if I wanted lettuce tom or onion, the meat was cheap it was dry smelled funny the bun was dry and hard the thing looked like it was made hours before I ordered...MY wife had the Gyro Salad more of an ice berg gyro salad " wow we put gyro meat in it" right? no feta or olives?? seemed like to much cost cutting poor end product...
