I wanted to try the Cameo based on all the positive reviews. Not a smart choice on my part. I ordered a typical two egg breakfast. My eggs came out looking like an old board. The eggs had a kinda skin on them from how overcooked they were. The bacon was paper thin like the garbage they serve at Burger King. All in all not the best experience. Yelpers got this one right...their burgers are solid! Went here recently (after a round of golf) to scarf down burgers after walking 18 holes. This locally owned joint has a very neighborhood bar feel, but we were welcomed from the moment we step foot in the place. My buddy started off the meal by ordering the hot pepper cheese balls served with a side of ranch dipping sauce. Just a slight touch of heat along with the cool ranch made for a nice beginning to the meal. We each ordered burgers after that. I had to try their signature version, the Cameo Burger which comes loaded with pretty much everything but the kitchen sink...cheese, bacon, ketchup, mustard, relish, onion and pickled peppers. The meat itself was not seasoned very heavily but was of good quality and a hefty 1/2 pound. Bacon was perfectly crispy (how I like it) and the bun held up well to all that was jammed in between it. The only slight disappointment were the fries, which were on the soggy side (I prefer a more crisp fry)...but for the price paid this was a great meal, one I hope to get to enjoy next time I'm in the area. read more

Decided to have dinner here tonight with the family. We got: Popcorn Shrimp and Fries Coney Dog with Onions and fries 2 piece fish and fries Chicken Sandwich with Fries Everything was good, food served hot, drinks were on time and the wait staff were quick and friendly. It was pretty busy when we came in, but they were on it quickly. We didn't need to ask for anything, it was there instantly. Will come again for sure. The only gripe I had was I didn't realize the coney sauce was very sweet. The onions cut down on it a bit, it was good, but surprising. My favorite part were the fries, there used to be a Fry place called Boardwalk fries in the old Carnation Mall, they are alot like them. I'd go here for the fries alone. I'm 50 now, and Cameo Grill is a restaurant I've known my entire life. It's been 30 years since I left Ohio, but I'll always have a soft spot for this place. Visiting my sister and her family, we decided to take my husband to some of our favorite local haunts. The place is a dive, to be sure. It looks exactly the same as it always has, although I think the back room was added on since I was last there decades ago. My husband always playfully teases our servers when we eat out. Doesn't matter if it's a dive or a five-star​ restaurant. When we sat down, he asked our Cameo waiter if they served Starbucks coffee. The waiter laughed a little and responded in the negative. Upon returning to our table with water, my husband then asked if the water was from a tap or a bottle. The waiter playfully snapped, "What do you think this is, Belden Village?" This is a joke that you'll only get if you're a Stark County native, but it became our family's tagline the rest of the day. Back to the restaurant. Upon looking at the menu, I thought to myself, "Is this menu from 1983?" Both because of the typeset and the ridiculously low prices. My Minnesotan husband could not get over the prices and declared it the cheapest menu he'd ever seen in his life. The bill for our table of 8 came to $46. Forty. Six. Dollars. Okay, it's cheap and it's divey. How are the burgers? The best. The biggest. Fresh, greasy, cheesy and original. There's no other place like it in those parts. Breakfasts are decent, and again, crazy affordable. I won't say they have the healthiest menu, but when was the last time you visited a dive bar looking for low carb, organic fare? Splurge. All of the staff here are really friendly. It's also nice to see the staff helping each other out, so you might not have the same server the whole time, but you will get the best service because of it. The cameo burger is super good. Probably the best burger in Massillon! It's also really big, so I think next time, I'll get a smaller burger. The menu has bar food, but it's expansive enough that there's something for everyone. Breakfast is pretty typical food. I didn't really care for it, because it's apparently a really popular breakfast spot, and gets way overcrowded for the amount of space that's there. Tried the saurkraut balls. Doesn't taste too bad, but wasn't cooked enough so cold right in th center. They only take cash. I think they need to update and start accepting cards. But they do have an ATM inside. The prices are crazy affordable too!!! The inside has an oddly comfortable feel, like it's more of a homey place. It's highly decorated with tiger stuff but that's to be expected. I think they would see me and my boyfriend here more often if they took cards. We like it a lot. read more

What can I say! Everyone in Massilon knows about the "cameo grill and the Cameo burger"! 3 different sizes baby bear, then nana bear then finally papa bear size (a 1/2 half pound size)! They serve a hamburger with relish, mustard, ketchup, cheese (3 different kinds American, provolone) and a hot pepper an awesome sweet/hot pepper (it's spicy but it will not burn your mouth up)! They also have a HOST of appetizers! Stuffed jalapeños, sauerkraut balls, French fries, onion rings, etc....delicious homemade soups, and breakfast served till 11am with some of the breakfast menu items served all day. They have a corn beef hash that is served inky during breakfast time that is awesome and is a must try! You won't be disappointed! read more

This little place is sort of sketchy looking when you drive up, and walking in I felt transported back to my childhood, to the neighborhood bar and grill my dad occasionally took me when we vacationed in Nebraska in the summer. The place feels like a neighborhood kind of dive, but we were welcomed immediately and the service was top notch the entire visit. After others raved about the Cameo burger I couldn't wait to try one, and it was good but nothing remarkable. We were starving so we started with the hot pepper cheese bites - again, good, but nothing special. For his meal, Better Half got the strip steak with fries and a salad. The salad looked really good, and it must've been because he didn't share. The most remarkable thing here was the food prices. I can't remember the last time we ate anywhere this inexpensive - kudos to Cameo Grill for offering good food at very reasonable prices! That being said, Better Half said the steak tasted like an $8.00 steak, which is what it cost. But really - where else can you get an $8.00 steak these days? They might cost that much at the grocery store now! On the down side, walking in it's clear this is a BAR and grill, so I wouldn't feel it's appropriate to bring children here. There were some families there with young 'uns, so clearly it's okay, but I'd be uncomfortable taking my grandkids there, mainly because the bar is prominent when you walk in, and there's a lingering hint of old cigarette smoke. It's not terrible by any means; just not the sort of place I'd feel was setting a good example for the littles in our family. I usually eat here one weekend a year, when the Ohio State High School Football Championships are being played. However, I make it to Cameo multiple times during that weekend. I think a couple years ago we at Breakfast on Friday, Dinner on Friday, Lunch on Saturday, and Breakfast on Sunday. I can not be in the area and not eat there. The only thing that sometimes makes it tough is that its hard to get a seat. But you can always get a beer and wait for one to open up. The breakfasts are great and are unbelievably cheap. They also let you order a burger for breakfast if you'd like. I got the ORIGINAL Cameo Burger (one pound) this past Fall. Probably a mistake for breakfast and having to be on the go all day, but it was delicious. No idea where the " great reviews" come from. Ate here a few weeks ago, it's not in the most desirable of areas. I walked into the bar where people (including staff) were using vulgar language. Ordered the "famous" cameo burger which was nothing more than unseasoned meat on a no taste bun. The only thing you can taste is mustard (and way too much of it). Gordon Ramsey would have a field day with this place. Hard pass for me. Tip to ownership - Do better. The food is unappealing and the ambiance is worse. What a hidden gem! While this may not look like much from the outside, the Cameo Grill has some of the best bar food around town. Their burgers are some of the best I have ever had, and a generous portion for the price!
