We booked 3 jet skis pretty last minute (the day before) on President's day weekend. The company was super responsive and very easy to communicate with during our booking and the day of our experience. If you are under 34 years old you have to take a boating test (which was pretty easy) before riding. The online platform was very easy to use to take the test and sign the documents (everything gets emailed to you). Alex guided us through the channels into the ocean where we got to ride as fast as we wanted. Alex was very great at directing us & keeping us away from the other boats while also explaining the rules/how tos before we started riding. The jet skis, the communication, and the customer service was great! We will deff be using this company again in the future! what a complete SCAM, booked on line, attempted multiple times to upload the required documents (my issue, apparently the website was not Mac Friendly), called several times with no answer or call back. We resolved the upload issue using another computer, but the afternoon of the reservation, we get a "reminder" to complete the forms from "Tiffany" so texted and called again a few more times to make sure they got everything needed. Texted multiple times, no response other than the canned BS. Showed up at the designated time 30 minutes early, not a jetski in sight, continued to call without any response right up until 5 minutes AFTER the reservation. Lesson learnt, I won't book anything on line like this without speaking with someone or doing more research prior. Anyway, I already have my money back from the card company (thank you USAA) but I can't get back the time and effort (and disappointment) that we had put into planning what was supposed to be a nice afternoon on the water. I had a very interesting experience with Alex as well... There was a Groupon deal online promising one hour jet-ski rentals for 2 people for an hour for $240 so I called him instead saying I'd rather pay HIM the $240 since Groupon takes a cut. I wanted to help his "business" since times are tough right now and he sounded appreciative of this. Upon getting there, another pair showed who wanted to pay cash, and while handing it to Alex he said "hey put that down I'm not allowed to take money in the park" which was very interesting but I just went with it anyways... About 5 minutes later, we get some basic training about how to start up and use the jet-skis and then a guide takes us out of the no wake zone (which takes about 20 minutes each way) so your 1 hour rental is more like 15 minutes of actual throttle time. The area you get to play in is extremely choppy since it's in the ocean, which was fine, but after landing my very first jump the bumper of my jet-ski came loose and so I immediately let the guide know for him to say "WHAT DID YOU HIT?" I didn't hit anything, I used the machine just like everyone else was and it was obviously previously damaged and terribly repaired with gorilla glue. We only got to do actual riding in the ocean for about 15 minutes until the guide said "okay, time to go" and started guiding us back through another 20 minute "no wake zone". Also, I checked my phone and we got back 5 minutes early. After docking my machine, I spoke with Alex and he said he wasn't going to return my security deposit since I damaged his jet-ski. I asked why it was so easy to damage it when I was using it as instructed and he said that I wasn't supposed to be jumping the waves (on a wave runner?) however this was never apart of the training. Also the repair of the bumper definitely isn't $300. On top of that, it's a $150 PER JET SKI deposit so he should have only kept $150 if anything. I pleaded my case to him and he literally walked away from me mid sentence to help the next group that had arrived. I just thought this whole experience was so weird, I really don't care about the $520 he made me pay I just wanted to know what the hell was going on, like something just didn't feel right. After getting home I did some research including a background check and here's what I found... 1. The owners name is Alex Castro (36 years old) and has over 30 criminal records including grand theft auto and burglary. 2. His so called "business" is not even a registered business in the state of Florida. You can verify this on SunBiz.net, Florida's official business registry. 3. You are not allowed to run a business out of Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park which is why he was telling the other group to be careful while handing him the cash. I will have my lawyer reach out to him since I have his address and phone number as well from running a background check on him. Just be careful since this is not a legit business and is run by a complete douche bag. TL;DR: ALEX CASTRO (OWNER) WILL GIVE YOU AN ALREADY DAMAGED JETSKI IN ORDER TO KEEP YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT!! THIS IS NOT A LEGIT BUSINESS PER SUNBIZ.ORG! YOUR 1 HOUR RENTAL IS ACTUALLY ONLY 15 MINUTES! If I could zero star, I would! Firstly Alex is THEE WORST!!! He will talk down to you an act like he knows everything! Dealing with him was extremely unpleasant. Our appointment was at 1pm on 4/4/21. We arrive 10 till to find out they're behind schedule. Ok fine but after an hour and continuously checking in with him, we started to get alittle "wth is going on?" I asked him how much longer and he'd keep saying not too long and that we should always expect delays like this. I said well this is something you should mention ahead of time seeing as we have a schedule planned for the day. He then replied 'well I wish I could put everything in the text I send out, but I can't and this doesn't happen often." hmm he litterly contradicted himself right there. Trust me, we would've left an hour in but in Florida you need a temp boating license to jet ski, that's $10 per person so we were already invested. Anyways were now pushing on 2 hours wait when finally the group before us starts to return. At this moment Alex decides "lets take payment now." I was like we had two hours to handle this but you wait till the last second?! I go to hand him my credit card and he goes "its only cash, Cash app, or Zelle." Are you kidding me? This is definitely something you should tell people ahead of time! He says its in the confirmation text which I showed him, It was NOT! Im sooo urked at this point! I would've brought cash if that was the case! I then asked him, for all the trouble-can we have a discount? He wasted 2 hours of our time, was rude, and made the whole process difficult. Our price was $540 and I said how about $500 even? He had no cares and denied any discount! Like wow guy does not know how to run a bussniess!! Which we actually found out he's not even a licensed business-no wonder dude has nooooo customer service skills at all! I told him id be making a complaint and leaving a bad review on his business. He laughed and said id be the only complaint of the day. Yeah ok dude, from other reviews here, our horrible experience with him seems to be a pattern. However, once he got us on the jets and in the hands of the actual tour guide Brad our whole experience changed! Brad was suuuper nice and found we were all from the same town! Brad if you see this, you were the best part of this whole experience and you deserve to work for a better company (an actual company) where you add to the experience and not be tied to the terrible face of the company-Alex. I am sure its due to him not wanting to pay them for clicks and get ripped off. Anyway, this guy and his tours are top notch and the best thing I have done in Florida. there is a little time delay getting everything together but expect that anywhere. The waterway is very nice and the free riding out in the ocean is a blast too. Don't kid yourself you are tired after 15 minutes out there if you don't ride skis regularly. DO NOT USE THIS RENTAL PLACE. This place deserves ZERO STARS. I decided to go with this place despite the bad reviews. I'm in hospitality and I know how rough people can be, but I am so disappointed. He was so quick to take our credit card over the phone for the jet ski rental the day before, but day of, DOES NOT RESPOND TO TEXTS OR PHONE CALLS. The least he could do is send a courtesy text or call saying we won't be jet skiiing due to weather, that's it!! I would have understood. Instead I pay 10 dollar for the stupid test online. If I can give less than one star I would. Today is my daughter's 18th birthday and I booked 5 jetskis for a party that they confirmed. I had to send the $200 deposit early and the response started out good. Then we asked to add a 6th ski and have been trying to communicate to make sure that we were good to go for days with no response. The last 48 hours no responses whatsoever and now we've been sitting at the Boat ramp waiting for our jet skis and for Alex to arrive for the last 2 hours. We're basically going to have to try and find another company now and book last min... I doubt if I'll get my $200 deposit back. This guy/company is not reliable..... I do not recommend renting from him. Here's an update - now he's refusing to give back my deposit and has no valid reason. We were there for hours before and after the "booked" time and he never showed. The two other companies at the docks said this is typical for him, and that they hear this often that he is unreliable and get clients consistently who have been left stranded by rockstar/Alex. We booked our reservation for 11a today, he changed it to 12 due to 'we took too long to respond and we didn't send the money when he asked for it' then he pushed us to 1230 wouldn't give a reason so we arrived at 12p as he said it is required to arrive 30 minutes before scheduled. Got there asked where do I go? At 12:04p I thought he had an actual hut or some type of place at the given address. He said 'Park next to the playground and wait I'll be there shortly' at 12:21p then I asked him if he pulled in with black skis as I wasn't aware of what types he had besides they were waverunners. He sent a photo of them and  I thought he was here and was waiting on me so I asked him oh where do I go and he said 'I can't text too much cuz I'm driving just hang out at the park you'll see me when I pull up in about 15 minutes' @ 12:21p  so I waited. At 12:38  and said 'you here?' With no response from alex the owner Then at 12:47 I said 'any update?' And again no response from alex.. so I sent him another texted a minute later and said 'don't mean to bug you,  my apt was for 1230 and just worried lol' so I waited as I still got no response I decided to call him at 1253 and he said oh I'm pulling in right now see you in a few and hung up. Then when he got here he said oh i had to get the kids from school my wife gave me the wrong time to pick them up so that made me late. what confused me is she is a stay at home mom per his responses in other reviews and she was following behind him with the kids so his excuse didn't make any sense. and then he never offered us any discount or inconvenience as we had to pay for parking twice and we waited well over an hour. to us it seemed like a scam and he was never gonna show up.  don't recommend. rather pay more for another company then come back here. we love supporting local but this one wasn't it unfortunately. read more
