The Pre K program prepared him for school. He's loved all of the teachers he's had. His after school teacher has been with him since he was in Kindergarten, moving up every year with his class. That's just one thing that makes this school so special. The office staff has always been quick to resolve any issues I've had with billing or to provide timely information that relates to my child. I've had several friends enroll their children here, some having to wait for a spot. Their high enrollment is just another testament to the fact that this school is doing something right. I can't recommend this program enough.

Yes, it is beautiful, has an organic…read moregarden that teaches my child about the importance of healthy eating by showing him where our food comes from -- from the seed to his plate -- and allows my highly energetic son to spend class time learning outdoors (including with Chickens!). But more than that it has given my naturally shy, reserved son an amazing confidence and love of learning that has transformed him. He started Woodlawn as a person who could barely look an adult in the eye because of shyness, and ended the year doing a solo poetry reading at the school talent show. He started the year wary of the wealthy show-offs and bullies he had encountered at a Lake Norman preschool, and ended with 11 of the best friends he has ever had -- all 11 of his classmates. The teachers at this school are truly amazing, and beyond the beautiful school grounds, are the real gem of this school. We have never seen teachers who care so much about the success of each one child. They are truly shaping our son into the kind of caring, unselfish, hard-working, confident person we want him to become, and we could not be more grateful. Thank you Woodlawn!!

Farming school! Who could hate on that? Well apparently some local county government did last…read moreyear and they almost got shut down. But thankfully Scott Avett of the Avett brothers came to the rescue and with the media as well, these guys are back in business. A review really can't do this place justice, you need to do your own research. They could be helping the future of farming. We need small farms, but unless you grew up on one its hard to know the logistics, much less if its even your kind of thing. These guys not only help you learn how to farm, and the monetary logistics, but they also let you have a plot of your own to try out, with only a small investment. I really wish I could say more, but just do some research yourself, or help get involved. Check out how the CFSA is involved. If you are a foodie, this should be important to you.
