There are only a few teachers at this center who genuinely care about the children's well-being--Ms. Monica, Ms. Lynette, and Ms. Jordan. They consistently go above and beyond for the kids. But after my recent experience, I cannot say the same for the rest of the staff or the administration. Imagine picking up your child from school, asking about their day, and hearing them say, "My teacher yanked me and threw me in the bathroom. I tried to kick and punch my way out, but I couldn't." This is the reality I faced, and it's why I ultimately removed my child from this center. I personally witnessed a Pre-K teacher use her body to lock my child in a bathroom. He tried multiple times to get out, but she refused to let him leave until I intervened and asked where he was. When I brought this to the administration's attention, they failed to address the situation with the seriousness and urgency it required. I allowed one day for them to follow up with me, but when I heard nothing, I had no choice but to involve the police. Even after the police arrived, I received no updates. When I finally managed to set up a meeting with the teacher and administration, the administrator did not apologize for the lack of communication. Instead, she criticized me for involving the authorities. During this meeting, we reviewed the video footage, which clearly showed Chariel Dye standing against the bathroom door, using her body to prevent my son from opening it. He repeatedly tried to get out, and instead of assessing the situation, she continued to block the door. What shocked me the most was the lack of empathy. The teacher was rude and unprofessional, showing no remorse for her actions. The administrator tried to justify it by saying my son was in the bathroom for "only a few seconds." Let me be clear--there is absolutely no excuse for locking a 4-year-old in a bathroom, no matter what. After the meeting, there was still no follow-up from the administration. They didn't ask about my child's well-being or try to reassure me that this wouldn't happen again. It took seven emails just to initiate a refund and get information on removing my son from the center. I have since reported this incident to the state, and the center is currently under investigation. This situation was completely unacceptable, and I urge other parents to be cautious. No child should ever have to experience this kind of treatment, and no parent should have to fight this hard to get basic communication and accountability from a place that is supposed to care for their children. After sharing my honest review about my experience with this daycare, I was promptly blocked from their Facebook page. Rather than reaching out to show any empathy, concern, or willingness to address the issues I raised, they chose to silence my voice. It's deeply disheartening to see a place entrusted with the care of children prioritize their image over transparency and accountability. I believe it's essential for every parent to carefully research and consider where they enroll their children. Our kids deserve a safe, nurturing environment, and parents deserve a voice. We LOVE KrK in Concord! We have two sons and they both started in the infant room and are still attending. Our littlest just turned 3 and our oldest just turned 5. For infants and early toddlers, expect your input to be a heavy influence for the teachers - and don't expect the teachers to be spoilers of big milestones... never did a teacher say, "What a great day! Your son took his first step!" Which is really nice, since my husband and I have full time jobs and most of our time with the kids is at night and on the weekend. They let us discover the moments on our own. For toddlers, they help to set a consistent potty training pattern that we could reinforce at home. Their daily report cards even tracks potty progress, so you know how things are progressing and when to celebrate going to pull-ups and to big-kid underwear. For toddlers, they also encourage each little person to develop their own voice, independence - which is a big feat as terrible 2s can come with some tantrums. They also work on letter and shape concepts. Just today, while washing his hands, my 3 years pointed to a shape on the wall and said, "That's a hexagon!" For pre-K, we couldn't be happier. We looked into starting the 4 y/o program at the private school down the street (those in Concord know the school), but the KrK pre-K curriculum was very comparable from reading, writing, concept and math perspective. Our son is writing, doing early math, patterns, Spanish, knows his letters and phonics, working on site words, can count well beyond 25, and so much more. His teacher has held a mid-year parent-teacher conference with us with samples of his work. In a nutshell, he is well prepared for kindergarten - if not overly prepared. The administrative staff has changed from when we started there 5 years ago. We were not a fan of the old director, but choose KrK because of its baby room - size, play equipment, and routine. Shortly after our son was in the baby room, the old director left and the new director started. She has done a remarkable job with developing her new admin staff that know every child's name (and background) and moving technology into the school. She is also caring and open to comments and concerns that you may have. The owners are very hands-on and frequently one if not both are on-site, and equally open to discussing anything on our minds. One is even a nurse, so as boo-boos have come-up she has been able to quickly triage, which is nice. Our three y/o got stung by a bee while playing outside and she was able to quickly look at the sting and gave me several call on it to discuss the situation along with treatment as well sent me a photo while at work, so I could see. We have had a great experience at KrK of Concord, and would highly recommend this school to everyone. read more

My sweet boy has been with Ms. Ashanti in 250 for months. For the first 2 weeks of daycare he screamed in tears every morning at drop off, yet I watched Ms. Ashanti handle him with such grace, patience and peace. By week 3 he was running into her arms every morning. To this day we start every morning saying, "Do you want to go see Ms. Ashanti" to which he joyfully responds "YAAAAY!!!" I am amazed by the way she so quickly transformed what could have been a dreadful daycare experience into something he now enjoys and looks forward to every day. Not to mention the positive change we quickly noticed under her guidance, such as improvements in his verbal and nonverbal behavior and communication . Also, as a first time mom I always have tons of questions and she answers every single one without ever making me feel bad about asking. I have also had a great experience with the administrative support at the front desk. I love that so many staffers greet my child by his first name in the mornings and evenings- It makes it feel more like family and I love knowing my son is more than just a number. I can't begin to share how much of a positive change this center has been for us. My daughter was 2 1/2 when she entered the center our main goals were safety and learning. Within the first week of being in the center she was able to recognize 3 colors which had been a struggle for us to get her to do when working with her at home daily. We were so shocked that within the month she was recognizing all her colors and shortly after was counting to 15. Her teachers communicated so well and made us feel comfortable with Ava being in their care. It really showed us how much they cared when they recognized that Ava was not as strong on colors and numbers as some of the other children that had been in center longer or was slightly older so they took it upon themselves to work with her one on one when they could. I can go on and on about our positive experiences in the center and we are so sad that our time here has come to and end. We were very apprehensive about enrolling our first child in a daycare or learning center such as Kids R Kids however our outlook has completely changed! Kids R Kids Concord has been the best decision we could've made for our children. The teachers are very skilled from an academic perspective but most importantly they are warm and loving. You can tell they really love what they do and the children. Our children love the teachers and they feel like members of our family. The food they provide is great and our child has a serious allergy that is closely monitored. The administrative team is thorough and cares just as much for the children as the teachers do. The owners are also involved in the daily operation of the school. They are both devoted to child care and manage to make you feel as though your children are the only ones there. Our daughter was sick today and one of the owners stayed with her until we got there. Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academy is an awesome place to work at and the staff are quality educators that love their students. I love that our learning academy offers high quality life camera access for parents to view their child and have comfort in being able to see them throughout day. The lesson plans are catered to the needs of the learner and are geared to ensure that students learn social and emotional skills as well as academic skills. It is especially nice that the students get to enjoy newly installed playgrounds and our state of the art splash pad for summer fun. WISH I COULD GIVE IT NO STARS!! My nephew was BANNED from the daycare due to him being SEXUALLY assaulted while in their CARE! This has happened TWICE and nothing has been done EXCEPT my sister being STRESSED wondering what else is happening to her child while he is in their care! She has tried to talk to staff BOTH times and nothing is getting SOLVED except them banning him and MAD because she took him the hospital! Since she did what a MOTHER was suppose to do! They called CPS on her and said that she be hurting my nephew!! We are taking steps FURTHER and an investigation will be OPENED! Paperwork will be drawn up for RETALIATION! read more

I am so thankful that a center like this exists! My daughter is 2 1/2 and has loved every minute she has been enrolled there. The owners are wonderful people. They ensure that they get to know all the children and their families. The staff are also fantastic. You can tell they love the kids and enjoy making each and everyday amazing. Please avoid this location!!! My son was enrolled at this location and they verbally and physically abused my child! DSS was called and I would refer to them for further information. This facility is by far one of the cleanest centers I have had my kids in. Both my children attended the Summer Camp and are attending afterschool. I get the kids after work and home work is done, they have had snack and I am greeted with smiling friendly faces.
