After replacing the construction grade windows in our house with more efficient ones, my wife and I decided to also upgrade our window coverings. We had used them in the past to restring some wooden venetian blinds and found them very professional to work with so we visited their showroom in the Park Meadows area. We had a great shopping experience and settled on Hunter Douglas Duette Lite Rise top down bottom up coverings as well as Patio door sliding shades. Our in home appointment went smoothly with each window measured to provide cost estimates for the job. After our windows were replaced we called to schedule a second round of measurements for the shades. Rocky Mountain Shutters and Shades handled the Installation flawlessly. The shades are a tremendous improvement over the venetian blinds we had before. Rocky Mountain Shutters and Shades is a great company to work with. They even found that the initial estimate for one of the sliding door shades was for a larger sliding patio door and subsequently lowered the overall cost of the job. I contacted Rocky Mountain Shutters and Shades online, and they responded within an hour. This impressed me right away, because I had originally contacted another local shop expressing interest in Hunter Douglas shades, and I never heard back from them. The RMS&S shop-at-home expert, Lane, came out to our home a few days later and measured all of our windows and brought samples of the products they offer. I already knew we wanted the Hunter Douglas Room Darkening Duette shades, since my son had purchased and installed them in his home in Kansas. We decided we couldn't afford to do the entire house at this time, so Lane was fine with revising the price quote. We were told the custom shades would take 5-6 weeks, but could possibly come in sooner. To tide us over in the meantime, Lane cut and installed temporary pleated paper shades, which worked amazingly well. A few days later Ryan, the installer, came out to our home and re-measured the windows we were planning to do, just to make sure these custom shades would fit perfectly. Our shades came in about 4 weeks later, and Ryan returned to do the installations. He was very efficient and tidy, and make sure he cleaned up all the packaging materials he had brought. Brianna came to our home in the early evening for our convenience, was very professional and quite personable, she explained every facet of the door shutter we wanted, answered every question without hesitation, and spent just the right amount of time with us so that we felt completely satisfied with our order without either rushing us or wasting our time. She provided a temporary window covering that was SO much nicer than the wrapping paper we had been using. The owner took a second measurement to ensure a perfect fit, then when our product was built, the installer took his time and was very tidy. Awesome!!! I wasn't sure I had made the right choice but once the cold came I was sure I did!!! The shades they recommended to keep the cold out worked! I had ice on the windows behind the shades and the house was 68 degrees!!!! All that cold air was trapped behind the shades and not mixing with the air inside the house!
