Every procedure was explained, results were given in detail, Dr. Henderson offered insightful advice never before given by any Foot doctor, along with a detailed list of helpful suggestions for my husband's foot health, including where to find an everyday suitable pair of shoes that truly fit his older feet and a suggestion for therapy to help design foot and leg exercises he could do everyday to increase his strength. It was my first time at this office and I'm so so happy I found them! I had a pretty bad ingrown toenail infection and was extremely nervous to get this done again. I got this procedure done at urgent care less than a year ago and it was the worst experience, numbing wouldn't kick in and I was in pain through the whole thing. Dr. Anderson changed my whole view on that today. He made everything so easy. Everything from actually numbing me in the correct spot to talking me through it. I'm glad to have a different perspective on this procedure and would recommended Dr. Anderson to everyone! Went in for a big toenail removal and was new to the practice so I didn't really know what to expect except what I'd read in the reviews of Dr. Laur. He was indeed a professional, kind and considerate Dr. Very personable (as I was in there with my 20yr old son who had been through the ordeal before) with us both and we actually found ourselves laughing and enjoying the procedure - which I was not expecting! I will forever be grateful for Dr. Burk and his entire staff for how I was cared for during the last year. I ruptured an Achilles tendon and Dr. Burk was my second call within minutes of the injury. I was in the Meridian office the next morning at 9 a.m. and greeted by a wonderful receptionist staff. Dr. Burk and I talked about the surgery required, recovery and being active again. My surgery was longer than what we were told the normal time was because Dr. Burk stuck to his word of taking care of me and ensuring everything was PERFECT! He even was late to a family function on the Friday night of Memorial Day weekend to ensure I came out of surgery ok AND called later that same night to see how I was doing. The follow up appointments the 4 months post-surgery made me feel like I was part of their family. The entire staff took care of me and made sure I had everything I needed to get back on my feet. I own a business that supplies footwear to athletes so when I hear of foot and ankle issues, especially in young athletes, I allows send them to Rocky Mountain Foot & Ankle. CONSULTATION APPOINTMENT I was referred by my primary physician. I had a consultation appt and was told to be there 30 minutes early to fill out paperwork which only took 15 minutes and then waited another 45 minutes for my appt. I received no communication from desk as to the status of my appointment. When I finally got into a room I again waited when the doctor came in I explained my condition (toenail fungus). He looked at my feet and stated yes I agree the medical assistant would come back in and take clippings of my nails and they would send them in. Before he left he measured my feet and told me I should take Biotin supplements, spray my feet in the morning with a antiperspirant deodorant and put a moisturizer on my feet at night. He then went on to tell my condition could be from stress, anxiety, or a bad gut so probiotics would help too along with yoga and meditation. He left and the medical assistant came back in to take clippings of my nails. She was clipping my nails and then started clipping a nail that wasn't infected. I asked do they not need to be infected, she replied yes but you don't have enough nail on the infected ones. She then handed me the clippers for me do it and I left. I shouldn't have gone back for the follow up but I am an optimistic person, had already spent $ going there, and thought it's toenail fungus how could they screw that up! FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT Again didn't get called into the room until 1/2 hour after appointment time. The medical assistant who took me to a room stated she had been a medical assistant for years. She asked if I had been following the protocol the doctor advised and I asked what protocol that was? She stated you were supposed to be doing stretches for your calves daily. I said you must be in the wrong chart or the doctor charted in the wrong chart which at this point I told her I was so un-impressed with this office for which she had no reply. The doctor came and said well it's negative for fungus. The doctor then told me I may have skin cancer on my toes/feet or warts under my toenails and asked if I ever had a wart problem and I replied no. He suggested to remove one of my nails to see and I said NO! I now wonder if the medical assistant at my consultation appointment even sent in my nail clippings or if she clipped her own nails! As I was checking out I handed the paperwork to the front desk as instructed by the doctor and they didn't want some of it they said it wasn't their's to keep and handed it back to me and I handed it back to them! It was a big deal to even get checked out finally I took the papers and said fine I'll keep them and then they took them back and went and asked the doctor and he said he was supposed to keep them! OFFICE MANAGER CALL I called and spoke to the office manager and apprised her of my experience and she was very sympathetic and wished I would have contacted them sooner it had been almost 2 months. I explained to her I had plans to be out of town for 3 weeks and it takes a while to get another consultation appointment with a dermatologist who determined that I did have toenail fungus and have already removed 3 nails. I told her I am now stuck paying hundreds of dollars for services that were useless! She wanted me to come in to see another doctor but I had already seen someone else so why bother I don't live close by. She was going to have the doctor that owns the practice call me which he never has and it's been almost a week. I told her I'm not the type to just complain that I love giving people a pat on the back when someone is doing a good job but also feel they needed to know the bad! I will also be forwarding this to my primary physician so she doesn't send any more patients there read more
