However, the part would have to be brought in and the cost would be about $500. I asked why the module was not ordered when I booked the appointment 2 weeks earlier, but I did not get a real reply. I decided not to go ahead and wait for the part. Because there were a lot of favourable comments on the service at Chapman Motors, I decided to try them out. I was not happy and I will not take my Volvo back there. They charge about the same as the dealer, and from now on, I will take my car into the dealer. I have no confidence in Chapman Motors.

I called Gary to discuss. In this brief phone call, Gary immediately offered details and even a diagnostic, which impressed me with his skill and generosity. So, I dropped my car off for them to fix. Lorraine kept in touch with phone calls and ended up telling me the problem wasn't as bad as a I feared -- they recommended not doing the job. So I left with a tiny bill compared to the hours of work they could have charged. I only wish all consultants and businesses were as skilled and honest as Gary and Lorraine.

I left that day and my vehicle sounded only incrementally better than when I dropped it off. Quite a rip off for 3 hours time. They have lost my business for life. As well my trade in was devalued due to the Carfax report flagging a discrepancy in the odometer reading which Island Ford said was odometer rollback. After submitting a ticket to Carfax they investigated and found it was a data entry mistake. Island Ford refused to refund the difference in the trade in and actually stated that I lied about the Carfax. Stay clear of this dealership and especially the sales manager.
