From the beginning, I felt uneasy. When I searched the doctor's name before my first visit, Google results showed an unrelated criminal case with the same name, which made me hesitant. I still gave it a chance, but my first appointment quickly turned into a lecture about my weight instead of a full, respectful medical assessment. When I disclosed that I smoke, the response wasn't medical guidance--it was a religious comment along the lines of "God hates drugs," rather than explaining health risks, cessation options, or evidence-based support. After I was later diagnosed with a serious health condition (which contributes to weight gain), I returned hoping for actual continuity of care. Instead of reviewing my chart and discussing my diagnosis and treatment plan, he came in ready to focus on my weight again. Even after I explained my diagnosis and its impact, the interaction felt combative rather than collaborative. The final straw was paperwork support. I needed documentation completed. It was delayed for over a month, and when I was told to come in, I arrived early for a 9:30am appointment and still waited over an hour. I eventually decided to leave at around 10:50am. Only then did staff suddenly say the doctor could see me. I was also told I'd need to repeat vitals/another physical "to fill out the form," despite having completed the physical portion recently. This felt like unnecessary hoops and wasted time when I was already dealing with medical and employment stress. If you're on Medicaid and were automatically assigned here: please do your research and choose a PCP who listens and practices evidence-based care. I'm switching providers and reporting my experience through the appropriate channels.

I was very lopsided and even had to have a breast implant put into my left breast in 1997 since it was so much smaller that my right breast (right breast was a FF cup) He took out the implant on the left (Thank God! I had always hated that thing even though it was necessary in my case) and performed a lift. Then, he reduced the right breast significantly to match the left. He did a great job given the fact I was a very unique and more difficult case. I'm going back in a month to have a dog eat removed on the right, but they had told me beforehand that it usually happens and dog ears are often revised after. This has changed my life for the better in SO many ways and I cannot recommend a breast reduction from Dr. Gordon enough!

I'm not easily impressed, but Michael Gordon is the finest doctor of any kind I've ever had. Not…read morejust the best hand surgeon. Not just the most skilled plastic surgeon. The best doctor period. I've had 17 orthopedic surgeries, and my hands are unfortunately due for more in the future. Just on my arms, he's performed an elbow hardware removal procedure (original surgery not done well at Panorama), one combination carpal tunnel surgery and cubital tunnel surgery, and one for trigger fingers. Gordon's patience in assessing the true need for a procedure but not pushing them, explaining procedures and their implications thoroughly exceed any bedside manner you could hope for - unusual for surgeons. His work is superb. AND - while other surgeons shortcut the process and let an assistant stich up or (Panorama) staple up after, Dr. Gordon does his own stitch work, so precisely that you cannot find my scars; they follow my hands' natural lines. There's a reason he has chaired both the Hand Surgery AND Plastic Surgery clinics at UCH Anschutz - at one time he was chairman of both simultaneously. My life will go on as long as I hold out hope that some day Dr. Gordon can heal my left wrist, which has had two previous fusions and now must either be totally fused or replaced (a new wrist is not yet viable for me). Don't confuse him with Dr. Frank 'The Butcher' Scott, who also works in the UCH hand clinic. Scott's incompetence made the wrist substantially worse 30 years ago, and my memory is very long. But 'Mickey' Gordon is a ROCK GOD.
