I knew a couple years ago that he needed some intervention to help him with mood, body awareness, "regulating his engine", sensory sensitivity, extreme temper tantrums and issues with inappropriate physical contact with us (hanging and tackling us). I had no idea where to go and the idea of finding a good place to address these issues was so daunting that I put it off and we tried to deal with it ourselves. Someone I met at a sporting event observed his behavior and suggest STEP Therapy. I was so taken aback by the suggestion but also incredibly grateful for a direction to move in. I wish I could thank the person who made this suggestion, but instead I will pay it forward by leaving this review. The staff at STEP are kind, empathetic and well educated on the issues they treat as well as the family dynamics that may be present outside of therapy. The environment is warm, welcoming and very relaxed; it has become our home away from home. We get updates at each appointment about the treatment that took place that day as well as quarterly reports showing the progress that our son has made. I am so very grateful for what STEP has done for our family. We were on the verge of intervening with medication because we didn't know what else to do. STEP has given us tools for helping our son work through the things he is experiencing as well as empowering him to observe his feelings and make better choices for a better outcome. He is stronger (literally!), doing better in school and developing skills taught by his OT that will serve him for a lifetime. Thank you so much for all you have done for A and our family.

From our first call, I knew Whitney was going to be all of that and more. She is extremely passionate about the work she does. To support women throughout every turn of the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. I began calling her my angel because of the light and love she brought into my life. At our prenatal appointments, she educated my husband and I so that we'd feel prepared. She also offered reiki healing and all sorts of other nourishing offerings. When my birth plan completely changed, she remained by my side advocating and empowering me through all the changes. She also encapsulated my placenta and got the pills to me in just a couple of days after labor. Along with an amazing homemade perineum spray. Having the pills so quickly after labor was important because I truly believe they helped me not fall into depression as my hormones were able to find balance. At our 2-week postpartum she brought lactation cookies and bone broth along with some other healing goodies. We went over my labor experience and discussed what else I might need for healing.
