    Skimpy wine tasting

After reading the reviews we were excited to visit this place. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. We were greeted warmly and ordered a couple tastings (5 tastings for $25) the wait staff that greeted us made it seem as though they would be bringing the wine to our group to complete the tasting. We did the first tasting and our wait staff was not attentive to our group at all we waited about 30 mins before going to the bar to request our next tasting. Meanwhile our original wait staff was schmoozing another table this whole time. While waiting at the bar we were then ignored by the other wait staff behind the bar until she doubled back and proceeded to give us wine 2 in the tasting. See photo- this is the smallest wine tasting that I have ever received at an establishment, not on par with the amount we received for our initial tasting. The second wait staff did the rest of the wine tasting(if you call that amount a tasting) before our group was thoroughly disappointed with the service and wine and proceeded to check out leave without completing our tasting. As we were proceeding to leave early our initial wait staff apologized for the lack of service. Our group communicated our dissatisfaction to which the original wait staff who responded with "I was trying to sell some cases." This statement only continues to validates the lack of regard the staff has for its patrons. Might I add that the second wait staff kept referring to the first wait staff as "the boss". This was unacceptable service especially from someone who was supposed to be higher level at this establishment.

I came here for the 6 course tasting menu (available on Friday and Saturday nights) and I have to say, ITS ABOUT TIME. The experience was absolutely incredible, from the wine, to the food, to the service. Chef Austin is a maestro of perfectly blending flavors and textures so every bite feels like a symphony for your tastebuds. Alexa and Devon orchestrate the front of house like a dream. Personable and charming, they are genuinely interested in conversation with each patron while also doing everything possible to make sure your experience is personalized and exactly as you wish. Alexa helped me blind taste test the two Syrah's currently offered by Rocky Pond, while Devon adjusted the thermostat for the gentleman seated near us. No request was too small and they executed each brilliantly and with a (I assume) smile. While the price point for dinner is a touch high, it's all inclusive: food, wine, tax and gratuity, which makes the evening carefree. This is a MUST for anyone that's a foodie or just wanting a special evening. We can't wait to return.

I cannot say enough about this place, its staff, and the unforgettable experience we had during Chef Austin's tasting dinner on Sat. 11/7/20. Thank you for being so professional, fun, and considerate of the numerous dietary restrictions our group had. At least we're not allergic to wine!! lol Food was fantastic, and environment was inviting and intimate while totally on point with socially distant settings. You guys made this trip for us!!

The Lake Chelan area and nearby Manson are home to about three dozen wineries, located on either the north or south shores of the lake. Which is awesome, they make some great wines, and often have fabulous views. However, in Chelan itself, there are two (2) tasting rooms. One is called One, because they make one red, one white and one rose'. I've heard they are good. However, when you have an hour or two to kill until your condo is ready, you may be looking for something with a bit more to offer, so Rocky Pond is the place to go. The tasting room is large, with great seating options. We chose to sit at the outdoor area as we tasted and planned our upcoming excursions. They offer several whites, a rose' and two reds. Our favorite white was the Viognier, really nice and tasty, great mouth-feel, good balance of fruit and acid. On to the reds! The Mourvèdre was very light-bodied, but packed a punch of white pepper and fruit. A nice summer sipper when you want a red, and it would be great with BBQ Chicken. Then the Syrah. I'm typically not a huge fan of Washington Syrahs - just my fussy palate - but this was a nice representation. Medium bodied, but intense fruit flavor that packs a punch! Perfect peppery notes, nice mouthfeel, decent finish. Ah, but then the hostess brings out a bottle not on the menu - a 2016 La Domestique; 70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Malbec. Yes! This is what I came to Chelan looking for! Generous fruit, layers on layers. A finish that doesn't know when to quit. And through The end of September 2019, that and a bottle of the Viognier is only $49 (and the tasting fee was waived). My recommendation? Get over here now, and give Chelan- and Rocky Pond - a try.

Really enjoyed our recent visit to the Rocky Pond tasting room in Chelan. The wines were all good and a great pairing for the cheese and charcuterie plate. Looking forward to visiting their new tasting room in Woodinville this summer.

Had 4 different wines all perfect, even the dry Rose. The menu is small but huge great flavor & visual appeal. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly & service oriented.

Exceptional meal filled with delicate touches and attention to every detail. After having eaten at many award winning restaurants all over the world, Chef Austin Harmon's cuisine is an easy competitor. Nestled in the downtown tasting room of Rocky Pond Winery, this gem truly made our weekend trip to Chelan just perfect. This dining experience is the destination, the charming lake town of Chelan is just the bonus.

We enjoyed the tasting room in downtown Chelan, WA. The tasting fee is $10 which is on the steeper end, but still reasonable for a good and consistent 6 pours. It's usually 5 pours, but they are adding an extra one currently (not sure if that's the normal, and they just want to make you feel like you're getting a deal or not, but hey it worked!) Of all the tasting rooms in Chelan, WA this is by far the most modern, clean, up to date one that I have been to. Though, there is no view, and that is a real shame. I somewhat wish they had a fireplace and view, that would for me push this to 5*. I'd love to see their wineries have tasting rooms, that would just make it extra special, especially the winery with the fountain and such - that just looks stunning! Please, add tasting rooms!

Spending the week in Chelan, Rocky Pond was one of many on my list. Typically I'm more of a Reds guy but their flight offered 3 whites so I figured, "why not?" My wife had a glass of the Semillon after tasting it in the flight. She ordered a glass to have while I took care of the rest of the flight by my lonesome. All were surprisingly good, as a red fan I really enjoyed the "11 Dams." But for me, the shocker, was the Semillon. They offer a Pear Cobbler baked in its own little pan with a side of vanilla ice cream. OMG!!!! Absolutely a PERFECT pairing and a must try. Even if you're a reds fan like me, you'll love it! Plus my wife saw one of the spoons we used and recognized the pattern from her childhood that her and her siblings would fight o er to use. She asked if she could buy it and they obliged. She bought a bottle of the Semillon and I got a bottle of the II Dam. Yay team!

    A fine tuned experience.

They let us know that they had a fudge pairing with the tasting, which we were really excited about. Our first pour came out and we were shocked. I don't even know how the explain the size of the tasting- maybe 1/3 of an ounce? It's easier to tell in the photos. There wasn't even a stopper on the bottle, that was the amount the tasting room associate chose to give us. She must have known it was small because she came out with our second pour like 30 seconds later. All the pours were this size. The tasting was $16 for four pours and I don't even think we got 1.5oz of wine total. I was also frustrated because we weren't told what wines we were drinking or given a menu. At the very end we were given menus with about 12-15 wines on them and had no idea which 4 we had tried. I think the girl was new, but it was still really weird. I have tasted at many many wineries and found this one to be very very stingy. We do not feel like we learned anything about the wine or the winery and have no idea if we like the wine because we barely got a sip in. We were also the only people there on a Friday, so I have no idea why our service was so limited. I also figured the 16 bottle purchase we were picking up might have waived a tasting or gotten us a bonus pour, but they were pretty stingy with us. I feel like we were polite and eager to learn about the wines and am really confused where the disconnect was. I was surprised to see all the great reviews after our experience, so maybe we just went on an off day or the person was still in training.

The steak bites were yummy (that sauce!) and my friends that shared the fried chicken sandwich were pleased and that thing was massive. Our cesar salad was also enjoyable. She must have been new, so I asked her if she could check and she seemed kind of taken aback. Turns out they do not, so I just got a glass. My friend and I came back the next day and sat at our table for 30 minutes before we had a waiter approach us. After that, we ordered salad and dessert. It all came within 20 minutes, which was decent for the food order but LONG to wait for wine. From the time our plates were clean and glasses empty to the time we got a check was over an hour. Absolutely ridiculous. We tried to just pay at the counter and the woman behind the counter said she was just pouring tastings but not taking payment (so they do have tastings!). Wasn't too crowded on either visit, so I'm guessing maybe they were training a whole batch of new summer staff or something when we went. I would potentially try them again another time of year. Don't go here if you have a tight reservation after.
