As it's next door, we just walked over. It's a little inn that has a little restaurant and bar inside. There's a cute little outdoor seating area which is great for the dry season. Inside you definitely feel the Scottish vibe with the decor and obviously drinks. Food is served which you have to order at the bar. It was little of a back and fourth situation when ordering as one of us asked if they could just not add things to the meal. We were told that they only had one chef and would need to check with him. I get it, but is it a big ordeal if you asked to not have things that came with the meal. I've never worked in the food industry so I cant say much. But to asked if they could not add things to the dish would seemed easy and saved things from going to waste. It wasn't even substituting, it was can we not have it. Anyways. Food wise, we had the traditional breakfast, an order of chips, poppers, and steak sandwich and a cup of soup. Food was ok, it did the trick as we were hungry. I do like a classic breakfast which I did enjoyed. The poppers were ok, nothing major to rave about. Streak sandwich was ok. I think it was a Philly steak sandwich of some sort and served with cole slaw and fries. Overall, food was ok. Staff were ok with a little confusion during the ordering process. Would I come back, I'm sure I would. But it was nice to at least have tried it.

We ordered the chicken casserole special. It was good despite the price being a little too high for what it was. I'd expect to have a puff pastry on top of it for that price. Although, it was very tasty even though the presentation was not all that great. It was served with mash potatoes instead of chips. It was good. They have a big variety of local taps. I went with the Jock Pumpkinhead Stout from Loch Lomond Brewery while my husband had the Man O'Hoy from Orkney Brewery. We were very happy with our local brew selections. It was a very nice atmosphere for lunch. If you're a Harry Potter fan, then you may want to take that hike from here to the filming location of Hagrid's Hut. The pathway up to the hut is just a short walk from the inn. The inn itself is kind of unique with the ice ax and ski décor. It reminded me a little of Ketchikan for some reason. Maybe it was the 5 Points of Contact photo that I saw by Peter Daynes. There's also a display of ice axes designed by Hamish MacInnes. Our tour guide in Ketchikan was coincidentally named Hamish. Wow, everything does come around full circle. It all turned out to be a nice lunch experience in the Highlands.

The food is great, the staff are friendly and the fire is always going. I also love the ginormous topo map of scotland on the wall.
