Not sure if I would recommend this location - this was a last minute pick for us because we needed somewhere to stay on our road trip through the area. In my opinion, the Inn is pricey for not great quality. The room was clean, but the decor was old and looked like it was not kept up. There are no screens in the windows so you have to close the windows, and the room got very warm. When I showered, the water went all over the side of the tub, which made the floor wet, which was a great inconvenience. Fridge didn't work. Breakfast was sad, there was cereal and a waffle maker. So it's a rodeway inn, so we went in with low expectations. Definitely not fancy. Stayed here two nights to hike Mount Elbert. Quite convenient from that standpoint. They have a breakfast- which has the usual carbs- bread, donuts, orange juice/ you get the drift. I called ahead and they allowed our dog to stay at a price, which we appreciated. I'll definitely need to read reviews before I ever book another hotel. Abandoned boarded up building next door. The room was clean but super run down. The bed was thin, the pillows were hollow, and my neck hurts after one day. I didn't sleep at all. The room smelled like fabuloso cleaner from the dollar store. The tub was sticky. The noise was never ending from the creaky floors. The parking lot is rutted, tweakers stay here, and the grout is moldy in the breakfast room. I would give this place zero stars if I could. We booked a room in late September 2024, reserving it a month in advance. After hiking and traveling for two hours, we arrived at the hotel around 9 PM, only to be told by the receptionist that our room had been double-booked. Forgot to bring ear plugs. These walls are paper thin and you can everything that goes on in the building. Very hard to sleep.

JFC. There is no air conditioning in the rooms. Off to a very, very bad start. Went downstairs and the nice lady in the office let me have two box fans. How is it remotely possible that a hotel doesn't have a/c?? We opened the windows, but there is no breeze. We're here for two nights. Unless we drive back early. read more

Literally the worst. I grew up in the area and appreciate the slower, mellow, not busy vibe of Leadville. BUT it took the front desk 30 mins to check us in. Room was dirty, food was nasty. I should have just slept in my car. Just don't come here unless you have to. read more

Stay. Somewhere. Else. Poorly managed. Management came across as smug and uncaring when confronted with a concern about a situation during our stay. Essentially, their message was akin to "We are sold out every weekend, so we don't care about any issue you bring to our attention". Hotel property is mediocre at best, although in a normal situation we may have given this 3 stars. But the dysfunctional and people-unfriendly management warrants a solid two-star deduction. Unfortunately, they don't have much competition, so they believe they can get away with arrogance. Another hotel chain needs to give them a run for the money. (How about it, Holiday Inn, La Quinta Inn, or Red Roof Inn?) We contacted the Choice Hotels 800 number. At least they were receptive to our concerns. They gave us some points for an effective discount to be used at a future Choice Hotel stay. Kudos to them for that. read more

So I have not been back to this hotel in 3 years or so. Mainly due to the fact that it switch from Super 8 to Rodeway. 2 different brands and was definitely getting dated. To my surprise with Choice Brand taking over they made some great improvements. Don't get me wrong still not worth the $100 a night(we have the going market for that to blame). Arthur is still the manager so good to see him. I might stay here again read more

Simple place with good parking lot for a boat, trailer, etc. Paid about $150/night. A bit overpriced as it is a 10min drive to downtown (long walk if you really want to). The rooms are ok. Outdated microwave and mini fridge, avg tv, very few outlets for phone chargers, outdated decor. The bed was very uncomfortable. Only provided 3 small pillows for 2 people in a queen bed. No air conditioning so a bit hot in the summer. The room was turned each day but linens are only washed/replaced every 3 days. Breakfast area is in a strange small room in what feels like the basement of the building. Would maybe stay again, but wouldn't pay more than $150 ever, and would bring blankets and pillows to try to fix the bed up better. read more

I tend not to have high expectations for discount Motels. A place to lay your head and shower during travel this one has. However, outlets did not work, no air conditioning and a screen that was falling out to prevent us from opening our window to have fresh air in. When asked about the outlet issue staff told us, "they were all like that". Mind you we needed this for a medical device. Staff did provide an extension cord that we had to run across the room. You get most of what you pay for at the Rodeway Inn in Leadville. However, the heater that is 8 feet long and is attached to the wall right above the baseboard does not appear to be from this century. I could not figure out how to use it. The staff was very nice, the breakfast was good, and the room was clean. However, the soap dispenser that is attached to the shower wall fell off in the middle of the night and scared my wife half-to-death. There is no AC, so we had to open the window to combat the old heater. The walls are thin and it is a little noisy. It is adequate for a cheap stay in Leadville. read more

Complete disappointment and staff made me question my faith in humanity. Dirty rooms, hair all over linens, and a disrespectful person representing the brand at the desk. Literally saw hair all over the beds. Asked the "representative " at the front desk for new linens, bc I was tired from traveling. Was willing to change the sheets myself but got called a "Karen" for complaining by the person at the front desk for not accepting a clearly filthy room. She literally told me that there was hair on the linens bc the laundry people were "Hispanic and had long hair", completely dismissing a legitimate concern with anger and racist comments. I asked for a refund and was instructed to go suck a d***. If you appreciate your time and money, avoid at all costs. read more

Two stars because of the amazing customer service from the lady downstairs who seems to be working by herself. I needed pillows: she brought two in like 2 minutes. Needed a blanket: 60 seconds-I really appreciate that!! However I doubt I'll return to this joint because it's so noisy!! Horrendous. This place makes Motel 6 look like a five star resort. No temperature control or air conditioner setup in our room. The rooms smell odd, people smoke up front which wafted into our rooms window (the only way to cool the room with no air conditioner physical present) and our screen door on the window was not even installed correctly and popped out in front of our window in the middle of the night by itself; we thought someone or something was trying to enter. My pictures can help speak volumes of our overall experience. The tub was cracked, the cheap laminate on the bathroom floor is cracking and peeling, and the molding was stupid crooked in the bathroom floor/wall joint seems. Even the headboard for the bed was crooked. We did not sleep all night. Loud, smelled of cigarettes from outside smokers, and all around dingy. Way too costly for what they provide you for the stay. What a lousy dreary town. Ruined our stay and experience in Leadville while on vacation. read more

Hotel double book their rooms. I booked my room with booking.com over a month ago and received confirmation from booking.com the day I booked and also the week of our stay. We called the hotel on the day we booked wanting to notify them about our plan to check-in around 7-8 pm and the hotel told us that they don't have our reservation. On the hotel's side, it appeared that someone has cancelled the reservation 5 days ago. I asked who cancelled it because on my booking.com account, my reservation is still active. The hotel staff said they didn't know. The fact that they overbook the room and sell to guests who pay higher price for the same day booking and telling us nonsense and ridiculous reasons that the booking was cancelled was unacceptable. I had to spend over an hour talking to booking.com agent, who happened to call the hotel twice and all of a sudden, the hotel changed its mind and said they did have a room available after all. The room's water is either very hot or very cold and it was hard to adjust the warm temperature in the bathtub and sink. HIGH RISKS FOR BURNING YOURSELF, which my friend did got superficial burn! The ceiling was bad also because they give us a room on the first floor and you can hear people upstairs walking back and forth so clearly. The footstep sound woke me up at 5 am when I originally planned to sleep in until 7 am, so pissed! I couldn't fall asleep afterwards. The booking.com agent said the reservation appeared active on their side, too! This is the stupidest thing a traveler had to deal during their trip. Zero satisfaction with the hotel, not satisfied with booking.com either because we had the same issue back to back for 2 nights with 2 different Colorado hotels. Was extremely pissed with the previous night hotel AT TOWNEPLACE SUITES BY MARRIOTT LOVELAND FORT COLLINS (the staff told us that they did not receive booking until the day of the stay and all rooms were sold out, and they double booked rooms, although on my end, I have active bookings under my account, GREAT EXCUSES THOSE COLORADO HOTELS USE TO SOLVE THEIR UNETHICAL DOUBLE BOOKING METHODS to make more MONEY) because the previous night's hotel declined services to us and was EXTREMELY rude. I do not plan on using booking.com anymore and booking.com should seriously reconsider partnering with Colorado hotels that are money-oriented, promise breaking, unreliable and selfish. read more
