To be honest, I was a little nervous about the cleanliness of the room due to some review's. However, we were pleasantly surprised. It was very clean. As a matter of fact it was cleaner than most hotels we have stayed at. We played travel ball, so we have stayed in many hotels in several states. The room was spacious, clean, and offered all the amenities a hotel would offer-coffee maker, hair dryer, mini fridge and a table with two chairs for eating . Just outside the room were two rocking chairs. There was a pool but it was too cold to swim. The front desk clerk was an older lady that greeted us. She was nice and informative. I highly recommend this motel if staying in Murfreesboro. I will post separate reviews for restaurants, but I will say the diner across the street from this motel is very slow. Got yelled at by restaurant staff (Y****da) in front of other guests for bringing the10-12 pound dog on a leash into the area for breakfast (the previous Hampton stayed at allowed a dog on a leash in he area to get a plate of food) and she loudly and openly accused us of lying while near the food when we replied we never saw the sign prohibiting this action. A lot of things went wrong at this establishment; can't recommend it to others. Y should not have yelled and also her body language (hand on one hip, then arms crossed, then hand on the hip again) screamed out disrespect and anger; instead, she chose to not be polite, explain the situation quietly and respectfully. She was quite awful. Further, because of this incident, we wanted to check out as fast as possible, however, no one was at the front desk (nor available by calling from the room's phone), even though later they claimed they were there the whole time. Had to leave the keys in the room. With all this going on, there is no way anyone would have felt welcome.

The reviews on another site we're actually stellar which capped off our decision to try something a little unique and we were not disappointed. Samantha's timber Inn appears to be an old style motel that has been completely renovated. Each room as unique as the website indicates with a specific theme. Ours was a boat theme and the pictures posted here don't do the place justice. Tongue and groove pine board paneling and matching decorations down to the shower curtain made you feel like you were in a ship. The space is sprawling including a separate bedroom with a queen size bed. It was meticulously clean and very well appointed. TVs, microwave, coffee maker with coffee and condiments. Super plush towels. Comfortable beds. Wi-fi. We had just pulled in and I received a call asking if we arrived OK and had found the key under the doormat as promised. Check out was smooth and easy. We felt incredibly comfortable in the space and would recommend it to anyone but especially a family.

The only other real con for me is that these are outdoor rooms - but there are no indoor hotels anywhere near this price point in the area. To be fair, every place has had good service for me so far, and no exception - the Ozark desklady happily gave me a second key to unlock the room that had my first key locked inside (I was really tired last night, sorry!). Rooms are very well maintained and kept clean. No loiterers outside, unlike other hotels on this vacation, and no smoking anywhere. This all shows, and it's why we're at the top. What I'd like to see for 5 stars: quieter room A/Cs, slightly softer beds, room lights a little less obnoxiously bright (no lamps, it's just a few overheads - all or nothing it feels like). It's close. A good choice for Mena travelers.

If we're ever along this route…read moreagain, we just might book another stay. =) The woman at the front desk on check-in and check-out was friendly and helpful and got our reservation processed quickly. The lobby is large with area to sit as well as fish tank and snacks available for purchase. The room was clean with modern furnishings (sans the old microwave lol but if it ain't broke why replace it?) with everything in good repair. We felt quite comfortable. The A/C unit is very powerful and effective. The beds are wonderfully cushioning and I fell asleep easily and awoke well rested! The shower has two knobs and confused me at first but will deliver soothing hot water with an easy-going flow. The toilet paper was cheap and awful but LOL. We did notice a weird smell by the sink but it didn't permeate the room so it didn't bug us too much. Considering this was the only thing wrong with the place, we felt lucky after a string of very hit-or-miss other motels along our route. This location is near the freeway but thankfully the noise isn't too disturbing. There's a lovely pool in the back which we unfortunately didn't have time to check out. However there was an amazing continental breakfast downstairs, with waffle makers, mini muffins, cereal, yogurt, and Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches. Such delight! We'd forgotten this simple pleasure while so many motels are still using COVID as an excuse to not provide this once expected service.
