The front desk clerk amazing. We were given room 101 she called it a King Suite. The room is adequately large with King size bed, nice large flat screen TV. Very pleased, room could use some lightening brightening up but hey I'm not here to decorate. Definitely would stay again. They have outside pool with hours 9am to 9pm, but too pooped from traveling to enjoy. Hope if you stay you have a great experience too. Our bed was very comfortable. No bugs or other creepy crawlies!!! Clean clean clean, including bathroom. Plus the next morning they offer a full Hot Meal Breakfast with Eggs, Toast, Waffles, Breakfast Meats..all part of the price of your stay! My bed is comfortable enough but not great. The pillows are typical lower cost hotel type pillows but they give you three per bed. Each room comes with a refrigerator and microwave. They have a morning breakfast that is eggs and sausage with toast. It also includes waffles, cereal, coffee and juices. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is right down the street from multiple restaurants, the mojo liquor store and Wal Mart. I would definitely stay here again.

After pulling into a dump of a hotel I said screw it and checked Yelp and this Edenfield B&B pops up & im like wth there's one of these our here in the middle of nowhere wow. I called even though it was after hours to see if they had a room and this sweet voice answers and totally made my day. Jasmine is a complete angel that totally made my stay incredible. Once I arrived she took the time to help get my motorhome parked as well as once inside show me my awesome room and get all my info for the stay. I've stayed @ probably 80 B&B's over the last 5 years and this was for sure in my top 10. My king room upstairs was awesome and super comfy. Shower was super hot ( the controls are backwards but I figured it out ) Breakfast was really good as well. We were taken to the local Days Inn and was greeted by Om that evening. Recognizing that my friend and I were in a car accident, he showed care and compassion for these two injured visitors. He gave us a discount and told us that we did not need to rush to check out in the morning. Walking into the room that evening, it was a relief to know it was nice and clean. We both slept well that evening. The next morning, we met Neal, the manager, who clearly noticed my friend and I were in a lot of pain, and there was no Uber or taxi around. She said, "You look miserable. Let me call my husband to take you to Walmart to pick up your pain medications at the pharmacy." Neal's husband took us to the pharmacy and offered to pick up lunch for us. When he dropped us back at the Days Inn, we asked if we could pay for the driving service, and he said God has been generous and good to his family and he wants to pay it forward. He just asked to pray for his family. When got back to the Days Inn, Neal told my friend and I that we can stay as long as we need until our driver comes and pick us up. I highly recommend this Days Inn and thank you for a taste of true southern hospitality.

Glamorous News: This same lodge was recently used by the crew of one of those family-fixing "Nanny" reality shows while they were filming an episode in the McRae area. The lingering cloud of "Hollywood Glamour" at the lodge is palpable, though you should be careful not to confuse it with the teeming hordes of angry gnats (see below). Non-Glamorous News: Location may be perceived as "isolated" by resort-conscious (there is no "ocean view"). Woods be full of Captain Drew's lubber kinfolk and ticks (in equal measure). Located about 35 minutes south of Dublin in the heart of Gnats-Up-Your-Nose County, this state park be the same locale where Captain Drew goes for his annual family reunion of inlaws and outlaws.... partly because we be such a wild bunch that we can't be contained by anything smaller, but mostly because it only costs us a couple hundred groats to rent an air-conditioned pavilion with its own surface parking lot. Perhaps one day I'll take one of you sweet-bottomed lasses down there on me arm to show off to me cousin/wives.... In all these years of herding my parents down to the reunion we've never stayed overnight in this state park's lodge UNTIL last week, when we found ourselves compelled southward by familial love and memorial duty. En route we agreed to give this state-run lodge a tryout since our former favorite, the Magnolia Inn, is now operated by a friendly family with a penchant for curries so indescribably pungent that the scent has permanently permeated the molecular essence of every structural component of their flophouse. While I enjoy a good curry as well as the next fellow, I also enjoy the delicious aroma of 78% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.038% carbon dioxide, trace amounts of other gases, and a variable amount (average around 1%) of water vapor. We were certain to find fresh air at the Little Ocmulgee State Park Lodge, and we did!! Signing In A breeze.... super fast. Our Stay Our lodgings were VERYsatisfactory. With the exception of a missing ice bucket (we had the lid), the room was as fully stocked as any other contemporary hotel room you'd find anywhere else in the nation. Why spend more somewhere else? Checking Out My only recommendation is to make every effort to prevent men in golfing togs and pronounced drawls getting in line ahead of you (especially if they're in the sawmill business) because they will delay your departure by 20 minutes as they kibitz with the friendly staff, loudly declaring how much money they make, detailing how much their monthly income surpasses the annual income of their fellow townfolk and generally strutting about acting "all rich and stuff". One solution to this dilemma is of course to nip out onto the nearby "wetlands" boardwalk (ie, swampy-path-to-nowhere), secure some sort of non-venomous-but-nontheless-agitated indigenous wildlife and insert it into the open golfbags in the back of the rich guys' pick-up trucks. Alternately, you can simply stand in line behind them with a fake smile plastered across your face, pondering at how marvelously ridiculous your little planet can be~

It's one of the newer if not the newest hotel in Statesboro. Check-in went smoothly and the staff was very friendly, especially the front desk. They were a pleasure to interact with. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. It's close to restaurants, coffee shops, and GSU. The complimentary breakfast was decent, but I was only able to take advantage of it once. I did help myself to the coffee bar a few times, which is a feature I really like about most Holiday Inn Express hotels. We really had no complaints, other than the room felt a little damp. Even the clothes inside my suitcase felt damp after a day. It was humid in Statesboro that weekend (when is it not, though?), but the room still shouldn't feel that damp. Either way, it did not damp-en (get it?) our stay. Would stay here again if we ever travel back to Statesboro!

The Hampton Inn opened in 2013. This Holiday Inn opened on June 15, 2008. Both hotels have been around long enough to get their fair share of wear and tear. We stayed at both hotels in recent years. I think the Hampton Inn has been maintained better. It's nicer. This Holiday Inn is not to be confused with the Holiday Inn Express that's closer to downtown Statesboro, on South Main Street. Two nights in a standard room with one king bed cost us $418.12. We redeemed 10,000 Chase Sapphire credit card points worth $125.01, so the final dollar amount billed was $293.11. Regardless of the credit card points, it cost $209.06 per night after surcharges. Check-in time was 3pm and check-out was 11am. Breakfast wasn't included. Amenities included a gym, pool, and event spaces. There was an event going on the Thursday night that we checked in. Overall, I do think this is a nice property with a good, functional layout. It just needs a little more TLC. When we checked into our room, there was debris and hair on the floor throughout the living room and bathroom. There was soap scum on the standing shower door and separate glass panel. There was mold/mildew, rust, and stains at the base of the shower and on the wall and floor in front of the shower. So yeah, the room wasn't very clean. We called the front desk to notify them about the above. Someone came within 10-15 minutes. They appeared with a vacuum cleaner, spray bottle with some sort of cleaner/disinfectant, and a rag. We had to leave so we didn't see the cleaning. When we returned, some of the debris and hair had been cleaned up, but some of it was completely missed. Oh well, better than nothing. As a result, I never felt completely comfortable in our room. I didn't feel the same way at the Hampton Inn. I actually felt comfortable in our room there. A few minor gripes: (1) The toilet roll holder was in an awkward location. It was on the wall behind the toilet, above the trash can. Not ideal. It should be repositioned. (2) The Keurig coffee in the room didn't taste good. (3) The cable TV setup on the LG TV was weird. It wasn't possible to watch HD in full screen. If I wanted to watch ESPN in HD without the image getting distorted/stretched, I had to watch it in a small box within the TV display. As for the positives, there were several: (1) The bed was comfy. My wife and I liked it. (2) Our room, 335, was spacious. I thought it looked modern enough. My wife thought it looked slightly dated. (3) The room had a nice corner view, facing north and west, above the 301 bypass, Chili's, and the Statesboro Crossing shopping center across the street. (4) The complimentary coffee in the lobby was usually hot and comforting. (5) In general, the staff was courteous and polite. (6) There was ample, easy parking. (7) While not great, the Wi-Fi was usable and reliable enough.

A Masterclass in False Advertising…read more If you're looking for a hotel that bears absolutely no resemblance to its online photos, congratulations--you've found it! I expected a well kept, clean establishment. Instead, I was thrown into a live-action survival horror experience!!! Upon arrival, I was greeted by an army of roaches that clearly considered themselves paying guests. They definitely seemed more comfortable than any human I saw. Mold was visible throughout the property, as if they were going with some kind of toxic interior design theme or an abandoned building aesthetic. The room was so unsanitary, I considered sleeping in my car. However, after further review, the parking lot wasn't far enough away from this dump for me to feel safe. The bathroom was particularly memorable. Nothing says "welcome" quite like pubic hair, urine, and dried man spooge! The vibe was definitely more "crime scene waiting for forensic analysis" than "hotel suite." It was clear that cleaning is treated as more of a suggestion than an actual job requirement for the staff. The pool? Calling it a pool is generous. It was more a giant bowl of slime that looked capable of developing its own ecosystem! I half expected a swamp creature to emerge and demand a room key!!! The elevator was also broken. I guess dragging luggage up and down the stairs was their idea of a fitness package!!! The most disappointing part was the staff's complete lack of concern. Every complaint was met with indifference, as if roaches, mold, and biohazards were standard features included in the room rate. Customer service apparently checked out long before the guests did. I usually try to find something positive to say in a review, but in this case, the best part of my stay was checking out. If this hotel spent half as much effort cleaning the property as it does editing its website photos, guests might stay instead of fighting for a refund. Seriously, the online photos should be submitted for consideration in the fiction section of a bookstore because they have no connection to reality whatsoever. Save your money, save your sanity, and save yourself from sharing accommodations with an entire roach community that clearly have long-term leases. The only thing pristine about this hotel was the imagination of whoever created the advertisement.
