Not really sure about this hotel. Every towel we got to use for the pool was dirty looking still my room towels looked dirty. The room was ok it had a couch that pulled out into a bed. The hotel room smells like farts. Abigail was so sweet and super nice and because of her I'd like to give it a five star but I'm sorry I just can't. Breakfast is big on the weekends and nothing during th week. I mean if you have to stay here because budget wise that's what I did. But probably not again read more

it was nice at first then as i went to go back to my hotel room after getting some food a man popped out the corner looked homeless and mugged me i reported it to the staff and they said "help yourself" i then called the police and they arrested the man after searching for 30+ minutes. This hotel was a nightmare. From the dusty, dollar store "essentials shop", in the lobby to the sketchy people hanging around. The room was disgusting and full of hair. The shower offered a used bar of soap. The safety latch on the door was TAPED TO THE DOOR, not bolted. Both doors to our room (first floor/pool access) looked like they had been kicked in at some point. The lamp shades were disgustingly dirty. I think the owners family lives there because there were children running around like they owned the place in the morning. Was traveling from Memphis to Tampa to help my daughter relocate. I was on the road 16 hour when I arrive on site at Rodeway Inn early on a Saturday morning. My daughter was closing on her new home Monday morning so we needed a place to stay for two nights. She called around checking for properties in the Wesley Chapel area that would allow pets. I was traveling with my 4 yr old English bulldog and 9 yr old Morkie. We were told that Rodeway Inn was the only one that would take pets so she secured two rooms over the phone. When we arrived at 5:30 am he husband went inside to get us checked in... my daughter, her hubby and their 4year old son took one room. I was given the other for myself and the pups. When I entered the Inn, I had to pass around a mop bucket filled with black, dirty water to get to the valet carts, which were old with grungy bases. As I was walking to find my room I took in all the surroundings which were very outdated and rundown. There was an extremely strong smell of bleach in the corridor. But when I opened up the door to my room I was hot with a putrid odor of what seemed to be mildew and urine. The temperature in the thermometer was set at 74 so the room was very warm, sticky and humid. The covering on the floor was pieced together indoor/outdoor carpet which was also dirty with debris. Next, I looked at the beds which were covered with ugly outdated bedding. Couldn't tell if the sheets were ivory or once white but now dingy from over use, washing and years of reuse. I pulled back the bedding to find dirty, stained mattresses with no protective coverings (I've ready too many horrible tales of bedbug infestations from hotels). I had already made up my mid that there was no way in HELL that I was staying at this dump. But I still went into the bathroom to observe the conditions. I found a short black hair (pubic hair??) on the bathroom counter!! I retrieved my loaded down luggage cart and pups and returned to the front desk to notify the attendant-that I would not be staying. Luckily he did comply and released me without any fee. My daughter, hubby and grandson did stay there...how is beyond any reasoning!!! I did not even want my pup's paws to touch the floors at this establishment!!!! Within an hour, I was checked into Holiday Inn Suites by Bush Gardens. No problem at all with pets, room is clean and very comfortable. read more

This hotel is embarrassingly disgusting. The parking lot consistently had some sort of chaos going on. We were harassed by other hotel guests as we were trying to get out of our vehicle. Rooms are not properly cleaned, mold in bathrooms, completely covering the inside of the ice maker, wash clothes were stained, rooms had hair, fluid stains and claw marks all over the doors. Blood was present in our first room and we requested to be moved. Blood was present in the next two rooms. Guest noise is not managed and it was had to sleep at night from the loud sounds of intimate activity. The front desk staff was kind and polite and seemed to be doing everything in their power to help us. read more

I reserved a room during the mandatory hurricane evacuation and when i got there the room was filthy. I wouldn't let an animal sleep there! I refused the rom and they said ok and then refused to refund me. The also flat out lied to the booking agency! Still fighting over the refund! They should be shit down! read more

Me and my mom tried to stay here last week and she went to the store to get food for dinner. After they watched her leave they came in to the room while i was in it and told me i couldn't be here because i'm a minor. So they kicked me out and called the cops to get me trespassed. They never even let me get my stuff. I also needed my medication urgently and they wouldn't let me get it from the room. Wish I could rate less than 1 star.... Moving on to the disgusting rooms they had. Right when we got in to the room we removed the top cover and the beds were full of hair and food stains. The walls had holes in them that bugs would crawl out of consistently. We notified the front desk and they responded by saying "I don't know why.. we washed the sheets." They didn't even give us new ones. The toilet didn't even flush and the few times it did "flush," the water wouldn't stop and it would overflow on to the floor. Not to mention the fridge and microwave didn't work. And someone stole the TV from our room and they told us it's not their problem and that we would be alright without it. This hotel worked in a pinch. We changed plans last minute and ended up in Tampa, so because it was last minute, no many hotel choices. I took a gamble and Hotwire chose this one for me. It says non smoking hotel, but our room absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke. It hit us in the face as soon as we opened the door. The AC worked and the room seemed decently clean, and the bathroom was quite large. The walls are paper thin, so we heard everything all night long. The doors also slammed as people shut them all night, so this was loud as they well. There is no microwave in the room, so this is simply a place to lay your head. The breakfast was those mini powdered donuts dumped in a container, 1 flavor small muffins dumped in a container, and cereal with milk. They called this their continental breakfast. The front desk people were both nice and you can tell the hotel was recently renovated, but the clientele looks pretty sketchy, and expect a loud rowdy hotel. It works if there's nothing else available or you're on a budget. read more

Don't stay at this hotel unless you like sleeping with bed bugs and roaches. - my boyfriend and I were sleeping and I got woken up to something crawling on me, freaking out, I turn on my phone flashlight and check what was crawling on me and that's when I saw the bed bug. I took a picture of it and then called the front desk. The guy came to my room and checked but couldn't find anything, and then had the nerve to tell me that we brought them in and that bed bugs were "small" and that the bug in the picture wasn't enough proof. So even more furious, when he left the room after no apologies for the inconvenience and getting woken up at 3am, I decided to flip the mattress over and that's where they all were, so I took a video of them and walked to the lobby and showed him the video. He didn't say a word, but he handed me a new key to move rooms. The next day, we talked to the owner, she was extremely rude and wasn't sympathetic at all. They refused to give us a refund, and not even a discount, and again, no apologies. We got dirty looks instead and excuses and were blamed that we brought them in again. She said they have exterminators and that she's never had a problem with that room before. There was also a dead roach on the box spring, which I also took a picture of. We've stayed here before and had problems with baby roaches crawling on the walls. I wasn't going to expose them or take it this far but I'm disgusted for one, and for them to not even offer us a refund or discount or even an apology is unprofessional. Not to mention, the showers are disgusting and falling apart. My boyfriend went to flush the toilet and the handle fell off. The back door and middle door near the pool were open and the key access didn't work so just anybody could walk in. The hallways smelled like dog pee and marijuana. There were beer caps and food crumbs under the beds as well, these rooms are poorly cleaned. The hotel needs something done to it. The local residents around here don't call it Roachway inn for nothing... highly disappointing. I wish I could find a way to upload the pictures. We needed a place to stay while we looked for an affordable long-term BNB. Unfortunately, we found this place. --Arrival-- 2/5 First, there was only one staff person available to check us in. I originally booked the room under my name, but my super pregnant wife arrived before me. The woman at the counter gave her grief about her checking in. She almost didn't let her do so until I showed up. Next, they didn't have any room keys. This means the only front desk person had to take us up to our room. We had to take turns to go out to the car so someone could be in the room. --The Room-- 2/5 We received a two queen bed room. This is what we requested, so no problems there. Let's start at the front of the room and move backward. The bathroom was pretty big, but in disrepair. There was a cockroach in the bathtub and the shower head looked like it was about to fall off. There was plenty of water pressure; this was something to be happy with. The toilet didn't flush all of the content in a single flush. It even ran every once and awhile. This means that the components on the inside needed to be updated/repaired so the internal leakage stopped. The bathroom received two stars, only because of the space and the fact that the water pressure was decent. --The Bed-- 2/5 They were beds. They had pillows. The bed covers were outdated and ugly. The bed wasn't very comfortable. I did not have a good night sleep. It's important for a hotel to give you the comforting feeling when you're in the room, this one did not. --The Fridge and Microwave-- 1/5 The fridge was rusty and ugly. The microwave was confusing. It didn't have the normal buttons a microwave normally does. I'm very good with any piece of technology and it took me a minute to figure out how to actually work this thing. Tip: Press the power level button first and then enter the time. --The Pull Out Sofa Bed-- 2/5 It took up a lot of space, but it was functional. It was an old model, the kind with the really flimsy mattress that folds up into the sofa. My four- and two-year-olds slept on it. They didn't complain in the morning, but I wouldn't expect them to. The Next Morning... --Breakfast-- 1/5 It was not a pleasant experience. We have eaten in many hotels for breakfast. This one was quite boring and dissatisfying. From left to right... Water jug with limes and ice. What if we wanted just iced water? Nowhere to be found. I didn't even know where the water fountain was. Coffee pump jugs. I don't drink coffee, so I couldn't tell you if it was good. I can tell you that there was a hot water pump here too. My wife accidentally dispensed some of the hot water and it had coffee grounds in it. Juice and Milk. You couldn't tell it was milk unless you knew to try. It was actually a container that made me think of coffee creamer. Typical three choices of cereals: frosted flakes, fruit loops and raisin bran. They had mixed muffins and white bread. A single toaster was available. A single, home brand toaster for the 20+ people trying to eat breakfast. There was a single waffle iron. I didn't get a chance to make waffles, but I imagine it's the same as the other places. On the walls they had posted on plain paper, "Eat in only..." and some other verbiage that strictly forbid you to take the food to your room or even outside. It was quite unfriendly. My wife ended up going into labor, so we rushed out around 8:30 AM or so to go see the midwife. I called back to the hotel and explained that my wife went into labor. I asked if we could have a late check-out so we could arrange for someone to come get our things. First, they said "checkout is at 11, we can give you until 12." I reiterated that we were at the birth center. She put the phone down and came back. "I see you're a Choice Privileges member. We can give you until 2." Seriously? You'll give us until 2? How nice of you... :-| We will not be going back to this hotel ever again. I'll be reviewing on as many sites as possible. Terrible, horrible, no good hotel. read more

This place is the worst place that we have experienced so far in our lifetime in term of customer service and condition of a place itself. The person who works there who name "Dave" by far is the most unprofessional and rude person. You will realize why this monster "Dave" is the "Worst human being" that you will have to encounter. Please avoid this place and their worker whose name is "David" at all cost. Our first and will be the last mistake to choose this place. We made our reservation for two nights/days for our plan to be in Tampa, FL. Unfortunately, the road trip from our state to Tampa took us longer than expected due to technical issue with our car and traffic. We ended up on the road more than 38 hours and barely had a few hours of sleeping for the last 48 hours. So, We ended arriving in Tampa on Sunday, rather than Saturday and trying to check in our last reservation on Sunday night for remaining one night. The fact that we already paid for two nights for this place, we would think we can stay for a couple hours on Sunday night before checking by Monday morning. Evil David said, we can't check in due to our reservation was made to be checked in by Saturday not Sunday. He told us that he has plenty of Rooms available that night but we have to pay for it again full price and the rate is ridiculously high. He told a lie that the two nights we paid for it, it's not for his hotel, it's for online company that we used. By hearing that, we said let us call that online booking place to see what they can do, maybe to release our money to the hotel so we can stay there for one night instead of two since we need a place to sleep. The representative from online booking company that we used, has tried to call this hotel directly to see what they can do for us. The rep confirmed the payment was already paid to this hotel for two night. And after the Rep talked to Evil Dave, this monster said, he refused to check in this customer ( us) unless we pay for a room again for the rate he quoted. read more

Stood at the check in counter for 5 minutes to get checked in, a bald guy named Dave stood and watched sports on his phone didn't even acknowledge us. When he finally decided to see why we were at the check in counter he seemed irritated that we interrupted his sports game...even copped an attitude with me. I will never stay at a Rodeway in nor recommend anyone to them either. Horrible! These are the types of people that complain about being underpaid lol. The hanging TV in the pictures is actually just a normal stand TV hung up on a wall, i really didn't care but it was a cheap move. Also i thought i heard squeaking but don't take my word for it, it was late at night and the TV was on. Place is an absolute dump. Walked in and it smelled of *pardon my French* shit and mold. We checked in, went into our room and once again smelled of mold, fridge didn't work, and last but not least our sheets had stains on them. We checked in late so we just dealt with it. Next day, we told front desk about our issues and she moved us to a different room. The room was decent, EXCEPT in the remaining of our stay of ONE day we had to kill at least four bugs in our room. LAST but not least we had to pack up so fast our last day to get to our flight that we packed a *small* towel BY ACCIDENT, the man at the front desk came down and basically made us feel like complete and utter scumbags making a scene in front of four other people that we will not be getting our deposit if we don't "fork over the towel" because it would be $25 to replace..... a t towel.... that resembles the .88 cent 8 pack at Walmart.... so of course I went into our luggage and grabbed this so called $25 t towel so we can get our deposit back. This place couldn't be more of a waste of money. Go down the street to Sleep Inn for better stay results because anywhere is better than this DUMP. read more

My husband checked into what I would consider a 3 rd world hotel the furnishings were over 30 years old broken handles on doors, mold in the corners of the bathroom floors. The furniture had the odor of years of smoke , layered with dust. The television was a 1980 model with poor reception. The mattress had it's own unique smell of a hobo on a hot day not to mention the springs coming through the blanket used outer cover. Over all the room had a odor of bad curry. We called down and told the receptionist the room was unacceptable. She sounded like we were overly fussy and insisted the room was never refused. We asked her to come to the room So we could point out the shortcomings I'll be right there she said. 30 minutes later she phoned the room and said to come to the front desk she would give us another room. We moved our luggage back to the car , went back to the desk turned in the keys and asked to have our credit card refunded. She said because we waited longer than 15 minutes management would not allow a refund, and suddenly she could barely speak English and spoke lots of Indian i thought because she had a big red circle tattooed on her forehead....do yourself a favor. DO NOT STAY HERE! If you have any other option take it. Ice maker was broke. Rear entrance lock was broken. Charge you a safe fee without telling you, Pictures do not match the real look. Visible water damage in many spots. Very rude staff. Over priced. Old old old, everything used up! This hotel will not allow you to get a good night sleep, there are many hotels in the area do yourself a favor and skip this dump. Horrible! Room smelled, hallways smelled. I stayed four nights because of work in the area. I got in around 4-5am just to be woken up by a rude employee knocking about housekeeping at 9am! They (2) just barged in even after I told them to go away. She walked right in and started spraying air freshener while I was getting dressed. They acted as if they could understand English. There was no "Do Not Disturb" sign. 1st night. The 2nd night I had to make my own Do Not Disturb sign so I could get some sleep that I'm paying for. They didn't knock or come in but instead they where vacuuming right in front of my door at 8am! The 3rd night still getting into the room around 5am I was awoke by the sounds of a shop vacuum at 8:30am They only ran it for about an hour before moving down the hall. On the final night/ morning I was once again woken up to the vacuum at 8am then after getting the approval for a late check out from 11 to 11:30-45 a few hours earlier a loud angry knock of "housekeeping" with out a cart or cleaning supply's. 10:30am! I answered the door as it was opening and told him I had a late check out. I told him 11:30-45, he responded with 11:15. That was it. I would say you could deal with it in a pinch but you'll have a better night sleeping in your car at a rest stop. read more

I highly discourage staying in this hotel. For starters, they have old mattresses and chairs laying around in the stairwells which made the stairs have a musty smell to them. The door to get out near the pool was cracked open at late hours in the night so anyone can walk into the hotel. The carpet was very dirty In our room, and our pillows had a musty smell to them. Also every night we found small black hairs in our bed, when both of us staying in the room had long blonde hair. To top it all off, the my friend and I developed a major rash similar to the bites of bed bugs while staying in this hotel, and are currently getting it checked out by doctors. read more
