I am so pleased with the craftsmanship at Rodriguez Upholstery. I had purchased an original Mission Rocker that was roughly 100 years old. It had an old, stained cushion that needed to be replaced, but it also had the original coil springs which were in good condition that I wanted to keep. They did both - replaced the upholstery, kept the coils, & they also added a new layer of foam on top of the original coils to replace the old padding so that it would be more comfortable. I needed a sofa cleaned and 9x12 rug cleaned that had been rolled up in the garage. Jesse did a great job on the sofa and took the large rug outside and cleaned it on the driveway. We had several cushions that required re-upholstery. They were quick to answer when I requested a quote which was very reasonably priced and fair. I dropped my cushions off mid-November (we provided the fabric after consulting with them about the yardage). I was told it could take about 2 weeks with the thanksgiving holidays. Update I've seen several recommendations for Rodriguez Upholstery,my previous one included. I agree that they do excellent work. However, I had them reupholster a couch and two large chair, the workmanship was excellent the problem was the fabric and how they handled the situation. The fabric started to pill up on the seat cushions within 4 months time. I called them and they would not come to look at the cushions, they wanted me to bring one to the shop. I did and this is what really bothers me the most. They accused me of trying to clean them and did so incorrectly. Well I didn't. They said they would redo the cushions, well they didn't. read more

I had a good convo with someone by text, (which is what the business does according to the ad), about recovering 2 sofa cushions last Friday and said we would come in on the following Wednesday to select fabric and get started. We showed up...the people there never heard of me and told me they were very busy. I said forget it. Also, the shop is located in the worst business neighborhood in Indio...very sketchy. A week ago I sent a message to three local upholstery businesses and within an hour owner Miguel Rodriguez responded to my message on a Sunday! He asked me to send a picture of the chair then gave me a quote on Monday. Tuesday morning I brought as many chairs as I could fit in my car driving a stick with my arm maneuvering through the top back of the chair and missing a few gears here & there. I chose my fabric Tuesday morning as I dropped off my sad and highly used chairs. My chairs were done that day! He had 3 guys working in the shop. I picked up the reupholstered chairs Wednesday morning, which looked even better than ever, dropping off the rest of the chairs and by the next morning I was back at 7 to pick up the last of the chairs. I tried to pay with my credit card but miguel wrote me a receipt and said his son would call me and I could pay later. I found them on Yelp and was pleasantly surprised at the ease in completing this task of reupholstering my dining room chairs. They're open from 7 AM to 3:30 PM in Indio off of Monroe Street on Industrial Pl. just past Indio Blvd & the tracks. read more
