Their work is exceptional, customer service is beyond expectations (they do what they say in a timely manner and with the utmost courtesy), and their pricing is very reasonable. I haven't posted a review for anyone for a while but was compelled to leave one for Alex Sandra Upholstery. Covid had shuttered many upholstery places, but I had recalled seeing upholsterers around Perez, small shops, but just the kind I was hoping to find. Covid-19 had stimulated my creative juices, and since I was working from home, I began to notice my home in a potentially new light. I enjoy the mid century modern shapes of my furnishings, but the Polyester synthetics appeared tired with the rolly balls peeling away in the manner that plastic based fabrics do. It was past time for some exciting new color. I found a wonderful green velveteen in remnants at another store, that matched perfectly with another piece. And voila! Alex performed an expertly stitched overhaul of two tuffets. Sublime. I couldn't be more thrilled. He accomplished it in 2 weeks. (The previous store in downtown Palm Springs wouldn't have completed it until November, far longer than my simple exhilaration could wait.) One of the most fun parts of this small Covid adventure was getting to know Alex. He was a delight, and my husband and I had a wonderful chat with him. It's only a matter of time that I will retrace my steps to Alex Sandra for my next project. The couch? Hmm. Needed to find a good upholsterer so went to Yelp. Again not steered wrong. Christina knows her business...as do I. I used to work in the design business with fabric. Had 2 mid-century chairs that needed cushions. Gave Christina the pics I found to duplicate the style. Perfect! Seams are straight, quality sewing and done sooner than promised. My questions were answered about hours and fabric supply. Their current hours are 8-430. The owner told me she has many fabric samples to choose from. I highly recommend "Alexsandra Upholstery" located on Perez Road. I did not know of any upholstery business nearby, so I just went on Google. "Alexsandra Upholstery" came up as did a few others right in the same area on Perez. So I went to each one explaining what I needed - which really wasn't upholstery at all - instead I needed part of my rocking chair to be repaired. All of the upholsterers seemed good and assured me that they could fix my rocking chair. But "Alexsandra Upholstery" seemed GREAT - they just really impressed me and so I decided to go with them. And I am very happy that I did. They are very nice people and take great pride in their work. They truly want their customers to be happy and satisfied. And that's exactly what I was. Jose is a perfectionist with many years of experience with furniture. He knew exactly what my chair needed and when he brought it back to me, it was perfect.
