Nothing regarding the coffee in this post. I had a simple question regarding their donations with purchase of coffee. They state that ordering their "no ice" coffee would donate $0.50 of every purchase to the Immigration Coalition. I simply asked for clarification; would it go to help the illegal immigrants and their struggle with ICE, or does it go to benefit legal. No response, they simply blocked me. Such a simple question. I've been to both the Newport and Dayton locations, and the atmosphere and aesthetics are very nice, lots of books and nice space to sit and read or eat. A couple years ago they were running a monthly poetry reading, and I attended several, which were very fun and supportive (they might still do this, I just haven't been in a while). Unfortunately, their Chai doesn't stand up to the vibes. The first time I went to the poetry event, I got an iced chai and it was super watered down, very little flavor at all. Most recently I visited the Dayton location and got another chai. This one was better--actually had some flavor--but it was outrageously sweet. I did also get a sausage, egg, and kale breakfast sandwich, and it was actually pretty decent. read more

I tried Match Pistachio. It was rich and creamy. I could smell fresh ingredients while I was drinking. The staff were nice. I love that they used mug which there was tray and trash to put away. There were little pastries. I tried two both were delicious. Overall I love the place, the drink and the pastry. I have to go back to try the food though. The kitchen was closed at 2 pm. A wonderful bookstore, coffee shop, and event spac (they have poetry readings), Roebling Books & Coffee's second location is just as welcoming, cozy, and filled with great reads & unique gifts. On more than one occassion, I've found the perfect card, the perfect book, and a delicious iced coffee that perfectly hits the spot. The best cafe au lait I've ever had. I spent the duration of my drink people watching from the quaint, lumpy couch in the main room. What a lovely space to sit and relax. This was my second visit to this location, and it's a place we like to stop at when we are in town in the morning hours. The bookstore part of Roebling is lovely, too. Roebling Coffee is my go to coffee stop! They have a variety of specialty drinks and always have the best seasonal drinks. They don't just specialize in coffee. They have lots of teas, including my personal favorite, the raspberry iced tea. Another thing I like about this store is the book store side. They have staff that will check in with you to make sure he can find what you need, and if you don't find what you're looking for a lot of times, they can order it for you! It's a super easy process and they just send you a text when it's at the store. read more

I've been attending a writing workshop here but had never been before, and I look forward to returning again and again. Book shelves, fun seating areas, lots of natural light, and art for sale make for an intriguing setting! Staff were very accessible and very helpful. Note: there are 3 locations for this store group- Newport which I am reviewing here (despite the address on my pictured cup- LOL), a smaller location in Covington called Roebling Point Books & Coffee, then Dayton, KY. We didn't have time to linger at that books and I was disappointed by that. This is a large place that had funky items interspersed with new books. We were there such a short time I can't tell you the funky items, but my eyes were delighted and not bored or overwhelmed. The coffee was fast and good. The only negative being the barista was only a "coffee person" and was missing her "book person" so she was of limited help for my book question. Otherwise, I suggest budgeting some time to meander while you sip your coffee. read more

I'm a latte drinker what can I say and their lattes are pretty flavorless. if I try to order a flavored latte it just tastes like nothing is in it. This was the first location I'd visited out of the 3 different Roebling Books & Coffee locations, and that lovely experience led me to visit the other 2 locations as well..multiple times, too! When you visit this location, you'll feel drawn into its beauty and charm, and it will lead you to want to take a visit to the other locations as well. I was sparked with joy when I found out that this coffee company has a heart for connecting with the community and supporting other local business. They also host different events. This location has more seating options and feels the most spacious to me, out of all 3 locations. It doesn't feel quite as cozy as the other 2 locations, for that reason, but it still has it's own charm. Combine your love for coffee, community, and books with this lovely coffeeshop! read more

I was super excited to see that Roebling Point Books and Coffee opened a second location, and I was really happy going in there today. It is over in Newport and me and my boyfriend got two coffees and a potato and sharp cheddar quiche. The quiche was quite good - though they did microwave it so the crust was not crisp. However, it is a coffee shop so I manage my expectations to some extent. This location does differ from the original in that it has tables to work. It seemed relatively busy for an early Sunday morning, so I'm not sure if it would be the ideal place to go and work for hours on end but a few people brought their laptop. Seems more like the type of place to go on a date or to grab coffee with a loved one and chat over the table than a work/study place. They also had tables set up outside under a covering so once it is warm, that would be a wonderful place to sit. I love Roebling's coffee - I get an oat milk latte and my boyfriend always gets a classic drip. I really like their coffees because even their specialty coffees are more on the strong side. If you're a fan of the Starbucks lattes, I would be warned that this definitely has a clear espresso kick to it (but I love it that way :^) ). I also love their book selection. I felt like they didn't have as much of a selection as the original location, but that is to be expected to some extent because it is newer than the original. I really enjoy that they have a smaller, more curated book selection. They have a good balance between more local or niche books and more popular or up-and-coming books. Today, I got a book that is similar to a devotional that has little action items to make you happy every day. It was super cute and a fun bookshelf addition. I think that's the best part about book shops like this - you never know what you're going to find! Overall, highly recommend. read more

I have enjoyed visiting the Covington location for years, and when this second location opened in Newport, I was thrilled. Tucked inside historic Mansion Hill, the staff at this book and coffee shop are always welcoming. They've helped me track down a book more than once and serve up a quality cup of whatever you're in the mood for. Now that there is a location within walking distance, one of my often repeated weekend adventures is strolling over to my favorite bookshop and browsing the shelves with a Breve in hand.
