Roger Phillips has been my dentist for over 15 years and I love going to my dentist appointments every 6 months! The staff feels like family, and Dr. Phillips comes in for every appointment and checks up on your teeth personally, and he always remembers everything about me and asks for life updates. I'm about to move and am so sad to realize that I'll have to find another dentist- I can't express how happy I am with the years of friendliness and expert teeth cleaning. The very negative review above says everything about the reviewer, and nothing at all about Dr. Phillips' practice. The truth is, Dr. Phillips is a fine dentist and runs a very good office. He isn't trying to sell unnecessary expensive procedures at all. My wife and I have been to see him for seven years for our regular dental care and have been very satisfied. We are both medical people so we would instantly be aware if something was amiss. Dr. Phillips and his staff treat everyone with respect, and recommend the treatments that are in the best interests of the patient. I am very satisfied both with his quality of care, and with the reasonable and competitive fees that are charged. You won't find a better dentist. Proceed with confidence. read more

I've been to Dr. Phillips once before and had a positive experience, so I recommended the practice to my friends. However, this most recent time, my partner and I were met with extreme rudeness. All we wanted was a regular checkup and a cleaning, and we refused other services such as x-rays. The assistant (Bridgette) treated us as if we did not understand what x-rays were for and were simply stupid/uneducated. She told us that it was a "waste of her time" to clean our teeth if we weren't willing to purchase the full x-ray sets that cost over $400. She grudgingly did it anyway, but then informed us that if we dare come back for another cleaning they will refuse to provide us with care unless we buy all the bunch of extra products and services (i.e. x-rays) that we very explicitly told her that we didn't want. I have never been treated so poorly by a dentist, x-ray or no x-ray. Unbelievable. tl;dr: Extremely rude place, money hungry assistants. I pretty much got kicked out for refusing to buy extra services/products. I do NOT recommend it. I'm very disappointed, never going back. read more

Big city dentistry in small town! Not only is Dr. Phillips at the top of the game, he is at the tippy top. I had three excellent dentists in Washington DC and one in Boston try to place a crown on an improperly installed implant. All the crowns broke, despite the use of the hardest crown material possible. Dr. Phillips not only figured out what to do, but made his own tool out of necessity to get the crown done properly. The crown has stood the test of time and is comfortable! Dr. Phillips also made a night guard to keep me from breaking my teeth from clenching during sleep. It is the first night guard that I have had that is actually more relaxing to use than annoying. Dr. Phillips also has a very knowledgable staff that works as a team. I've since moved away from Hanover, so I have no reason to write this review other than to give credit where credit is due. But I was fortunate to have met Dr. Phillips and his support group; they deserve kudos. read more
