Sasha is an incredible instructor; clear, patient, and highly skilled at breaking down steps into manageable pieces. She layers skills thoughtfully, building confidence while continually adding complexity. One of the things we appreciate most is how quickly she can gauge what each dancer needs. Even in a group setting, she's excellent at pausing the class to correct and clarify, making sure everyone truly understands before moving on. She also complements her classes with social dances, which give students a chance to practice in a relaxed setting, and she has built a community that is not only supportive but genuinely warm and welcoming. My experience with him taking private lessons is that he is masterful in breaking the steps down so that they can be built up with beautiful technique. In group classes he creates a fun environment with progression in each class and is attentive to each individual in the group. His schedule is flexible to meet the convenience of those who schedule private lessons while groups classes are scheduled throughout the evening when more people are available. Dance, particularly ballet is an art form...most schools add ballet as part of a roster of dance choices. However Progressive is committed to teaching ballet the right way. My daughter is now 7 and when she walks into that studio, she is poised, focused and ready. She enjoys it, knows what is expected of her and likes all her teachers and adores Ms. Jolene. As for the owner, Jolene, she remains approachable, friendly and committed to keeping the students happy and learning.
