I just got off the phone with Florida Blue with your customer representative, Kendra. Out of every…read morecustomer service call taker I've ever spoken to in my life, she exceeded my expectations tenfold. She was incredibly helpful, courteous, and attentive in assisting me, and I could tell she genuinely cares about making a positive difference. As someone who used to work in customer service on the phones throughout my life before becoming disabled, I know how valuable and much of an asset people like her are... I dreaded calling today, but Kendra made such a positive impact that I even told her I'd leave a good review and did the survey at the end of the call. Unfortunately, I can't find where I can do so except here and on a couple of other websites, which I'll be doing... Thank you so much, Kendra C, for today's attentiveness and help. I'm thankful that the phone call I dreaded to make was the best customer service experience I've ever had, and if I could give 10 stars, I would!!!

I agree with the one-star reviews for processing claims through Florida Blue relative to…read morenon-participating providers. I thought I did everything correctly upfront in purchasing hearing aids from Costco. I contacted them beforehand and provided the necessary data to receive pre-approval BEFORE purchasing the hearing aids. I received preapproval in writing and made my purchase in December 2025. I then started the claim process. I followed the instructions of various telecom Claims Support Specialist to make sure I had the proper documentation. (I was told I had to have a Medicare denial-even though Medicare specifically states it does not reimburse for hearing aids-by two Specialists while several others later told me it was not needed.) Once I received the Medicare denial, I mailed the data on February 6, 2026, with all the required information. I paid for a tracking number from USPS. The tracking information stated it arrived at the P.O. box on February 12 just before 7am. I was previously told to wait 30 days for the processing of my claim, so on March 6 I called the Claims number (1-800-333-2227) to determine the status of my claim. I found out they "never received" my documents. The woman that was helping me on March 6 said to fax the information to her (even though I was told previously the data could NOT be faxed) and she would get the ball rolling since I've waited long enough as is. It took over 12 calls to Claims over a 5-MONTH PERIOD to finally get my $1,600 check. I kept getting letters (some took 10 days to reach me from Jacksonville!) stating I did not provide ALL the necessary data. I tried sending data through the Secure Massage Center as they said it would be quicker. I received TEN COPIES of the claim form in the mail as they said they didn't have my signed form. Come to find out that two claims were being processed at the same time, each asking for information previously provided by mail, the Secure Message Center or by fax. The final straw came on May 4, 2026, when I got a denial for the claim as the employee entered the WRONG date in the system (12/08/25 rather than my provided date of 12/18/25). I finally got a great employee from the 1-800 number who spent 45 minutes on the phone with me and reviewed the data from all my previous phone calls. He contacted his supervisor and they agreed I provided all the necessary information, and they would rework the claim so I could receive my money. The Support employee stated, "For some reason, the Florida Blue system did NOT pick up my pre-authorization". My check FINALLY arrived 30 days later. Final note-you CANNOT reach the Claims department directly. The person(s) who are working your claim just send out requests for more information or send the denial. The Claims Support team can only send notes back to the Claims department and the coordination is weak at best. I was lucky to get a dedicated employee on my last attempt who stayed on the line with me and coordinate with a supervisor to finally end this long, drawn-out process. If you are looking for insurance and are also on Medicare, do NOT get involved with Florida Blue, especially if you ever plan to visit a non-participating provider. As other one-star reviews reported, it is a horribly run operation. No wonder health insurance costs so much these days, especially with Florida Blue!!

I was searching online for private health insurance since it has been a year since havinhg any &…read moreI've been off one medication that is crazy expensive this entire year and I NEED insurance. After spending a couple hours searching I learned about various groups who don't offer insurance privately at all in Florida, some that only focus on government based insurance such as medicaid and medicare. Blue Cross was actually one of my top 2 choices, having had their insurance in the past. Over the last 12-15 years not only has cost skyrocketed for insurance, but benefits have gone way down- something most people don't talk about. Online I used their tools to search what doctors are "in network" with which plans & narrowed it down to one. The one. No deductible, no co-insurance, just copays and a fairly reasonable out of pocket. Still expensive, but the pricing was very comparable across plans- so I went with what made sense to me. However- the website said there was no enrollment available until November! We booked an appointment at the Center with Fred and off we went. Our appointment was a little off- our rep was on a phone call when we arrived, but once we went back he started gathering our info. Fairly quickly I handed him my notes on the plan I was interested in and I thought he was going to fall out of his chair. I did all the work, except- he got us enrolled to start October 1! Hooray!!! We also signed up for Dental- which I didn't research and while, they don't offer eye coverage- he pointed us in the right direction and we already snagged that coverage too! FYI- dental normally has a delayed start date for coverage, they can override it to a certain extent. Normally a 6 month delay- we get coverage on November 1. They also offer numerous health events throughout the month to help you improve your lifestyle!

On Eventbrite (again) I saw another Lunch and Learn on the power of positivity and I thought...boy…read moredo we as a society need this! So I signed up for two; they had tables set up up front. As you entered you picked a sandwich (from Panera), bag chips, apple and they had water on tables. The speaker had good points about working on making our daily experiences around us and with others, more positive for our own well being-physically and mentally. She had good pointers and asked for feed back from the group; there was a handout also you could take with you. I was curious why they do all these activities for the public, I asked the coordinator, Barry Case, and he said is for positive public relations. He seemed sincere as he gave us a calendar for Marches activities, all at this center-yoga, HIIT training, guided mediation, using social media to stay connected, Zumba, senior exercise. The next Lunch and Learn is Mental Well-being...oh boy, another good topic!
