Not sure if I want to go as high as 3 stars but I'm feelin' generous today. We moved from Binghamton to a new State - yes, can you believe we actually left the Mecca that is Binghamton! We we wanted to make sure all was taken care of so we got quotes from a bunch of different vendors. Although Rogers was not the least expensive, they were professional and we liked the salesperson - he knew his stuff and was very respectful. They gave us 2 quotes - one where they estimated the weight of our stuff and one where they estimated the weight and any potential extra's - for example, if we wanted them to pack up more than we originally said. Moving day came. They sent 3 guys for a fully furnished 3 bedroom house with attic storage and a finished basement. I would estimate that 65% of the work was done by one guy, 25% by another, and 10% by the other. The guy who did 10% was old and really didn't do much at all. It took a lot longer to pack up the truck than it should have. They really should have sent more people, and one's that would work. OK, the truck got to our new place just fine but again, there were only 3 guys to unload. One guy did hardly any work - I would say 10% or less. The other 2 were good but it again took a lot longer than it should have - they really should have had another 2 guys. One of the guys really busted his butt and was a good guy - we gave him a very nice tip. The other guy was an OK worker but must have had some sort of disability because he couldn't communicate well - many misunderstandings, we gave him an OK tip because we felt bad for him. All the guys looked like they needed the money. It was evening before they got done. Then there were all the boxes after unpacking. Rogers originally told us they would take them away. After we got to our new place, they said they won't take them but that we can call their partner company (people that unloaded) to do it. We called, they didn't know what we were talking about and treated us as if we were nuts to think they were going to come out to our place and remove the boxes. We finally had to break them all down, wrap them up with twine, and take them to the curb on recycling day. It took a looooong time. Would have been nice if Rogers did it. Like I said, they gave us 2 quotes. Let's say the first quote was $2.5k and the second was $3k. The 3K was a very rough estimate and was a just in case kind of thing to cover any potential extra's - or so they said. They take the higher amt and then refund you for any amount under that. At the end of the day, they claimed there were many extra's and the final bill came out to be literally within pennies of the $3K. Either these guys are fabulous estimators or they took all they could get. I marveled at their accuracy and all they could say was, yep, that's what it came out to. My moving expenses were covered by my employer but I still didn't like the whole thing - felt oogie. All in all, we did get our stuff to the new place and everything was fine and undamaged but they should have sent more people, and people who worked so we had more time at the end of the day to unpack. We felt like the one's that worked were being abused - they were complaining about having to do all the work, and they were right. We expected more, it was much less professional than expected. I don't know if other companies are any better because Rogers presented well and has a good reputation. read more

Let me start by saying Rogers is a subcontractor through the company which I got a new mattress and adjustable base delivered. The company from which I bought the merchandise is in no way at fault for Rogers negligence. Rogers came to my apartment to complete a delivery on Friday 12/12/2025, just before 1:00 p.m. . My delivery window was slated for between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., so the fact that they showed up a little bit early, being that this was their last delivery of the day, wasn't too much of a big deal. However, these drivers showed up in such a rush, and acted like they had no idea what they were there to do. The store from which my merchandise was delivered had delivery specifications of setup, removal/haul away. The setup was fine, other than the fact that they didn't ask me which position I wanted my bed in, so I'm going to have to rotate it myself. The removal/haul away, however, was a complete disaster. They first tried to tell me that there was no haul away listed on the ticket, which I know was not the case (I was showing the original order at the store, and it specifically said haul away was indeed listed on the order). So, because I wasn't able to haul away the mattress myself (I was downsizing from a king to a queen), I paid these guys an additional FIFTY DOLLARS to haul it out for me (being that I just started my job, $50 was a lot of money for me, and I really could not afford to spare it, but I did). What's more, is they left the mattress on the front lawn of my building, which I did not notice until leaving for work the next day. I have been in a back and forth battle between the store that I purchased the merchandise from as well as Rogers trucking. The company from which I purchased the merchandise clearly has haul away as an included service, whereas Rogers is vehemently denying that haul away was included. When I spoke to Jeannie this morning as a final attempt to rectify the matter, she was extremely rude to me. After going around in an endless loop for a few days trying to justify this matter, I have simply given up and cut my losses. But the main reason for such a harsh review is that I hope nobody else experiences this. I happen to work for the company that I bought the bedding from, so I was not anticipating any type of negligence. Rogers came highly recommended by local neighbors and friends, most characterizing Rogers as expensive but worth it. Well, they were definitely expensive. My estimate came in at $6-7k; my final bill was well over $11k. The important part for potential customers is how this happened. When the Rogers estimator came for the on-site visit, we walked through every part of my house while the estimator and I both took notes. The estimator assured me along the way that Rogers could easily handle packing and moving the large house and particular items of concern. The email I received from the estimator afterward reads "...we would complete the packing we discussed. This includes W, X, Y, and Z. Estimate shows you completing packing for A, B, C and D." This matches the notes I took during our conversation. Based firmly on that conversation, I understood "the packing we discussed... including W-Z" to mean the estimator was highlighting items I was concerned about, and that Rogers would plan to pack everything that wasn't expressly assigned to me within the quoted price. The language in the contract that arrived later, however, doesn't match the email. It says "...crew will pack W, X, Y, and Z; all other packing will be completed by customer." I was confused, then panicked because it was far too late for me to di so much more than expected so close to move dates. The Rogers estimator did a textbook bait and switch - one that nearly doubled the quoted price. Whether dishonest or incompetent, Rogers is demonstrably untrustworthy. There's also a stunning lack of professionalism. The estimator turns out to be a manager as well and the day before my move, this manager had a multi-minute unhinged scream-fest at me on the phone. Nothing justifies that. However many times employees of Rogers repeat that they know how stressful moving is, this verbal assault and the compassionless mechanics of their process make it completely hollow. Moving is stressful. For the people moving, it also has unique circumstances every single time. My realtor, fully aware and part of these complications, told me repeatedly that homeowners often change move-out dates and that Rogers would be understanding. Rogers, however, was indifferent to my situation and the many constraints I was forced to manage and the stress I was under as a result. I didn't find them to be understanding or patient or helpful. Then there's the Rogers business model. Unlike any of the several professional movers I've worked with previously, Rogers closes over the weekend. My three-day move was split by a weekend, and as a result Rogers charged me for three nights of storage, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If they were customer oriented, and because closing is their own choice, they would only charge for the one business night. This arrangement also meant I slept on the floor for three nights in an empty house. I've never had a professional moving company take my bed before the last night in the house, even for multi-day moves. I raised this with Rogers representatives who were, again, entirely indifferent. They seem so focused on their own business and profit margins that they can't consider any impact on the human beings who hire them. Another real inconsideration of the customer is the complete waste of time and money of having one packing crew member spend about an hour walking through the house asking what to pack and what to leave. The exercise was useless because the crew didn't follow many of the requests. They took several things I asked them to leave, including cleaning supplies that I needed and reminded them about repeatedly, and left a lot of items that could have gone. Amazingly, they also took carriers for pets that stayed behind with me. Nonetheless, the crew members were friendly, helpful to me as I worked alongside them, and seemed generally well trained in their work. Unfortunately, as the day wore on, they took only short breaks and most of them skipped lunch. I was home alone, giving directions and answering questions on my own, and working all day to help get everything packed. It wasn't feasible for me to go buy them lunch. With Rogers charging $460 an hour for labor, it wasn't reasonable either. Unsurprisingly, the crew became hungry and cranky, and this hampered their ability to do quality work. If Rogers were a decent employer, they would build meal breaks into the schedule - without charging their customers or expecting them to provide meals - to ensure their moving crews were working to the best of their ability throughout the job. There's so much more wrong with this experience; I'll finish with something that tells you a lot about Rogers. While they say proudly and often that the customer is only charged for what's actually used, they left piles of unused paper, tape, and boxes. Remembering that Rogers re-sells boxes, I called and learned that they gladly take them, but offer not a single cent back. Rogers is only about their profit. read more

We are completely satisfied and recommend them and the Fl crew highly. Thanks to Tori, Carrie, pick up and delivery crews for taking good care of our property. There is a lack of communication within management and the actual move staff. Working with Rogers was the most dysfunctional move experience. There was no respect for the paying customers time, as the show up time changed multiple times in the 24 hours and day of the move. When I called to complain after the move, I had to call four times to get a response and ultimately had to deal with passive aggressive comments and failure to take full responsibility. They delayed our shipment by one month. Sent half of it and the rest came even later. Packing job not good. One employee had a ankle bracelet so assuming he was on parole. Then they overcharged and couldn't explain why. They blamed United for their bad service. I just agreed to pay the extra 1000 because talking to them was traumatizing to me and not worth it. They charged my credit card and send me a receipt then the next day I got the same bill by email. I am glad I got that bill because that is what reminded me to write the review. I basically told them not to contact me anymore as dealing with them makes me that angry. read more

We relocated from BGM to PHX last summer and the Rogers team made the move a lot better than it could have been--distance and season being major factors. They collected our nearly entire household, packed it very securely ( only one chair was damaged and a single smudge got on a sofa), and unpacked it efficiently upon delivery. Their staff was friendly and cooperative throughout the process and reimbursement for the damaged items was handled promptly. We probably won't be using them for ourselves again, but I recommend them for any job you have in mind. read more

Rogers moved our household goods in August. The people in Binghamton were professional and helpful, but wouldn't deliver boxes to me. I had to drive from Waverly (450 miles) to load them into my van. Once there, the manager and another employee loaded my van for me, but we couldn't fit very many. So, I attained most of my boxes from the deli section at Wal-Mart, only 5 miles away from our house. The packing day was handled calmly and professionally, though my six bedroom house held more than the truck, and a great deal of things were left behind in the basement: croquet sets, large rolls of paper, children's tricycles, a metal trash can and loose odds and ends, like wreaths and baseball bats. Even so, I was impressed at how tightly the moving van was packed and how quickly the employees worked. My major complaints apply to the team in Virginia, who immediately unwrapped my high-gloss cherry furniture and then piled boxes on top of it all. The pieces were scratched so badly that they look like someone hit them with sandpaper. The furniture is heavy, and the tiny workers could not mange it: as it was carried around inside the new house, many dings and chips were inflicted upon it. An antique cherry desk looked like a child had attacked it with scissors and its lock setting was spun around, creating a circular scratch on the front. The finial was knocked off my cherry headboard. My cherry low boy received a line of scratches across the front and brushed scratches all across the top. Some of these issues may have occurred in the truck, where everything was piled together. I can't tell for sure, because I was so busy on unloading day that I couldn't watch everyone/everything at once. Moving is stressful enough. Save yourself the time and effort required to photograph all the damage, contact a reputable furniture repair shop, and then submit a claim to insurance. Choose a company that knows how to handle expensive high gloss cherry furniture, and hires workers strong enough to lift big items without damaging them as they carry them. read more

There are no words to properly thank the many people at Rogers Service Group who, from start to finish, made a very difficult move minimally exhausting! Upon finding out our closing date was being pushed back, and all our moving plans in need of last-minute adjustments, (during an already busy season), their team did everything possible to accommodate our needs and provide a smooth and worry-free move. Michelle was able to get us rescheduled, quickly and calmly; and ensured that everything, from everyone involved in the process, was done to near perfection. Boxes arrived, schedules confirmed, movers assigned, and nerves settled. A very awful and stressful situation was made much less worrisome through the care and attention to detail that have become everyday practice for this company. The day of the move followed in the same polished fashion, as Shawn and his crew arrived early, ready to get the job done. They were energetic, friendly, helpful, and committed to doing their best work. I remain impressed, (after nearly a dozen other draining moves), by the professionalism and execution of such an undertaking. Save yourself the trouble, NEVER USE ROGERS OR UNITED! Terrible customer service, nothing but headaches. Nancy was sent to our house to do an estimate and explained that the number could change based on weight and she was going to estimate high so it was more likely to cost less than her estimate. When it was time to book, we couldn't get a hold of Nancy but another woman schedule the move. The driver arrived the day before we agreed upon (we were not ready) but if he hadn't I'm not sure they would have gotten it all done the scheduled day. The weight was off; it was more than 2000lbs over Nancy's estimate and drastically changed our bill. It was explained (and in their written contract) that they had to bill us within 30 days. They did not. 3 months later a "final notice" is emailed to us. They claimed it was emailed sooner but couldn't provide proof. After much back and forth they maintain we need to pay because they moved our stuff and it weighed more than they estimated dispite what their documents state. read more
