This company previously went by the name Five 7 Four and recently switched to Roked. The website says they are a marketing company, but on their job application they are focused only on experiential marketing. To quote the person I spoke with, "This isn't traditional marketing where you put logos on things, in this role you would be the advertising." There are no samples of their work anywhere. The long version ------ You're probably finding this review because Roked emailed you about a job opportunity. You googled Roked or Roked Inc. and couldn't find anything beyond their vague website. That's it's own red-flag, but I thought they might be new. Googling the Roked address I found the Five 7 Four identity, that seems to have been abandoned a few months ago, but they're not trying to hide it. It's still on linkedin, the lobby directory, and on their job application/personality quiz. If you look for Roked on LinkedIn, you will find the same company description and the same type of posting. I went to a preliminary interview after they emailed me and told me they thought I had transferable skills for an unnamed job. When pressed they said they were hiring for customer service, marketing assistants, management training, and sales representatives. I told them I would be interested in the marketing assistant role and confirmed my appointment. When I arrived the waiting room had 4 or 5 ladies chatting with the 22 year old HR assistant. During the course of the conversation I learned that this company supposedly has locations in Chicago, Miami, and Las Vegas - among others - but if you reference their website, it only lists the South Bend location. I would guess that those other locations do exist, but under different names. I filled out an application which asked me which five things I would bring to be stranded on a desert isle and why I was interested in experiential marketing. This is the first time "Experiential" had come up. To me that was another flag, not the concept, just the fact that it hadn't been mentioned till then. The young man who interviewed me told me that they had over 500 applicants and had narrowed it down to 5. He had clearly never seen my resume before and was confused that I would even apply. This is when he explained that in this role "you would be the advertisement" I told him I wasn't interested in a sales role and that ended the interview. read more

I also interviewed for the position of marketing assistant. Once I got to the location and walked up the steps to a blank solid wood door I knew something wasn't right. This ultimately triggered a red flag. How can a business who's name is Five7Four not have proper signage or direction. I overlooked this however, due to my curiosity as to what lie behind this boring dull door. Once I opened the door and entered the small yet very welcoming waiting room, my senses were overwhelmed with vibrant colors, a cute young secretary, a pool table, overall a very odd "out of place" office. But once again this red flag I quickly overlooked due to my continued curiosity. There were about four or five other candidates waiting to see Mr. Khan... Khan/Con???? Yet again my mind is telling me something isn't right here. However, I proceeded with the interview process. I was called into Mr Khans office and greeted by one of his Marketing manager that supposedly just completed his marketing training three weeks prior and Mr. Khan also explained that this gentleman, who's name escapes me, completed the training in a record time. Mr. Khan asked me personalized questions after speaking with the marketing manager, such as would you be willing to relocate. Do you have any children or a wife. When i answered his questions I then turned the interview onto him, asking him questions that seemed to stump him. He was also surprised I looked him up prior to the interview and noticed he had a double major in Law and Psychology. He gave up his law practice to become a marketing manager for alleged Fortune 500 companies. I was then told to go sit out in the waiting room again as they spoke with other candidates. As I was waiting for further instruction I was conversing with the cute secretary who come to find out was just recently hired for the position only a week prior to my interview. Again another red flag. Now knowing there was some sort of gimmic or catch to the "job opportunity" I continued to play along. I made it seem as though I was blind to the fact that nothing was adding up what so ever. Honestly it seemed more like a bad television show littered with rookie or novice actors, than it ever felt like a professional establishment, let alone a company that claimed to do marketing for Fortune 500 companies. After I left and expressed great interest in the position I called my sister and told her about this interview and company. She also has a good sense of being able to spot BS when she sees it. She also confirmed what I had already come to the conclusion of... this company was probably some sort of pyramid scheme or perhaps something more sinister. Once I settled in at home I received a phone call almost exactly when they said to be expecting it. It was from a middle aged woman that I saw very briefly while at the interview... there was a group of these people "big wigs" or as I like to call them, fake actors, with some agenda other than to provide a legitimate job for the citizens of South Bend. She along with three to four other middle ages people were hiding in a back office without any windows. Again I felt there was something odd about all of this. Yet Mr. Khans office was enclosed only by a big glass wall and glass door. Which I felt was planned to help make this illusion more believable that he was actually in charge of the operation. He answered the phone a lot but it looked again like bad acting. Anyways to make this already long story much shorter, they offered me the job and wanted me to immediately start training without being able to give notice to my other job. Which again another red flag. So i discussed this with family and did some further research... which I only found crumbs of. I accepted the offer and followed up with some of my own questions which of course were concerning to me. If I was to relocate how was transportation and housing be provided or available. Mr. Khan came up with some fake answer he pull directly from his Five7Four and thats when I decided to just no call no show on my first day. I emailed them explaining my concerns and of course never ever heard back from any of them again. When the lady on the phone that offered me the position asked me how I thought the interview went and when I replied, I know it went very well, I am a confident individual, but not cocky. Anyways I know she was probably laughing silently in that back room with the other actors thinking they tricked me into their pyramid and bad acting scheme. Ha ha I had the last laugh. Everyone, beware: Roked, Inc is a scam company that also goes by these alternate business names: ACME Consulting, TeamReadySet, Five 7 Four, and Global Pinnacle!! However, most recently they have been going by ACME Consulting. In the text message, the person wrote: "This is Rachel with ACME Consulting. We received your resume & would like to invite you to interview. Let me know what works for you." Prior to this first text message, I had NOT applied for any of their positions they are supposedly hiring for--one being "PAID Marketing Internship" which is listed on ZipRecruiter. I currently have my resume on ZipRecruiter, so I am assuming this is where they found my information. After receiving this text, I messaged "Rachel" back and asked questions about what the position would entail and they never messaged me back with answers. Instead, a few days later, they text messaged me again with the same exact text message--this set off a red flag, as this made it clear to me that the text messages are automated. They also sent me an email as well, and in the email, "Rachel" is only referred to as "Rachel O., Recruitment Assistant". Any real accredited company WILL put the person's FULL name. Under "Rachel O." there is a LinkedIn icon, however you cannot click on it. There is also an icon for Instagram for which you can click on that will take you to: @acme_consulting. When on the instagram page, they seem to be following weird and unrelated people such as Sly Stallone and also, their pictures on their profile are also very generic. I also went to their website, thisisacme.com, and noticed immediately that the website is EXTREMELY generic and they also make HUGE claims to have worked with tons of Fortune 500 clients such as Disney, Comcast, Best Buy, Verizon, Google, Walmart, Coca Cola, etc. They also claim that they began in 2015 in Miami, Florida, and for some reason, they relocated to the Midwest and they also claim to have expanded to the Bay Area of California. If all of these claims are true and they are such a great company, then why is it that I have never heard of them before? Also, when searching online, they don't seem to have much of a social media presence: you cannot find anything about them on LinkedIn, Facebook, or Twitter. Furthermore, another big red flag: if they have all of these Fortune 500 clients that they have done marketing and design work for....where are examples of the SPECIFIC work that they have done?? Any true marketing or graphic design firm business will have real examples of their work on their website portfolio to highlight what they can do! They WOULD NOT just have a page listing their clients with only those clients' logos! To sum everything up, PLEASE do not trust this "business".
