She asked great questions, offered good advice, sought specific paperwork, and helped us very well. We were made comfortable, given cold water for our thirst, and Dee spent adequate time with us at our meetings together. Since we did not bring all the paperwork we needed, we had to return to visit with her several times and she was patient with us. She provided us with an amortization schedule for home we still own so taxes in the upcoming year will be easier. We did not feel rushed in our meetings with her. Finally, at our third meeting together, she went over all line items, answered all our questions, gave us an organized folder with copies of what she electronically sent on our behalf, and spent time with us talking about what our taxes could potentially be next year. We have had our taxes done professionally at other businesses, however, Round Rock Tax Center went above our expectations. This is what we call "superlative customer service." Getting into their online system, I would get repeat requests to sign up even though I was already in. I also required a special two factor authentication. This would get annoying. Once I got a bill, I got emails at 2am asking for payment. This was also unnecessary. The worst part was advising me on what to do in the case of a marriage separation. Not only did I end up owing so much I had to deplete my emergency fund, but I had to pay 3k to learn that. I was asked once about my filing status and dependencies without being told how devastating it could be if that changed. In addition, they filed an extension, and I now owe interest and penalties. Yes, life changes mean financial hardship. But I was not properly advised and this ended up being the worst experience I've ever had with a CPA.

They did zero work, literally zero, as soon as we signed up they literally told us to go find comparable property sales ourselves and sent a bill at the same time because they wouldn't do any work to try and protest for us thus they knew we would not find any savings. They should at least have a policy that if they have zero data they can use to make a case, you should not pay anything to them at all since they won't do anything.
