Before this company took over the property, I had no significant issues with renting my space. After Chase & Furnas and Company became involved, my monthly rent increased by $100, even though I had not signed a new lease agreeing to that increase. Then, in May, I received an email regarding a new lease agreement that would make me responsible for nearly everything associated with the building. Under the proposed lease, nothing was included in the rent -- the tenant was responsible for everything. In my opinion, one of the main reasons for renting a commercial space is to avoid being financially responsible for property-related items that belong to the owner. These terms placed an unreasonable financial burden on me as a small-business tenant. My salon was one of only three minority-owned small businesses in this plaza, and now only one remains. It is deeply disappointing to see lease terms and management practices that make it so difficult for longtime small businesses to survive. Throughout this experience, I found the manager, Ashley, to be insensitive to my concerns and unable to provide meaningful assistance or a reasonable resolution. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend renting from Chase & Furnas and Company. I strongly encourage prospective tenants to review every term of their lease carefully, understand exactly which expenses they will be responsible for, and seek professional advice before signing.

In fact, the most concerning issue we had with a tenant who left before contract ended, Tony swiftly resolved with ease and the tenant paid the rent. He was on top of it - no drama.
