Years of sitting on the floor with my laptop, hunching over drawings and general disregard left me with an achy body and a collapsed S-curve... so much so that when I went to an acupuncture office they asked me if I was in a serious car accident! I called to make an appointment and the next one for new clients was in 2 months! Say what?!?! I was in pain but in demand means quality work right? Ok sign me up! I will wait.. and I am so glad I did. Lynn practices out of her home on the eastside of town. The spacious treatment room located upstairs is very clean and inviting. She's got a warm, quiet, grounded demeanor... a practitioner you can really open up and trust. I just completed the 10 Session series with Lynn and while my posture is not perfect, she's worked miracles on it. My sessions were never painful and I always walk out of her purple victorian feeling rejuvenated. You know when a healer has that magic touch... an intuitive knowing of which spot to press and work on? Lynn's got that gift and combined with a deep understanding of her craft and continuously learning new skills (she's always taking new classes)... it's a stellar combination. My last session was a few weeks ago and I am still feeling the benefits of her work on a daily basis. She's taught me exercises to do at home to strengthen my legs and feet, as well being more aware of my body in space. My fascia/connective tissues are so so thankful for her gentle and powerful touch. I am standing taller, walking better all because of her. If your body is needing a little or a ton of TLC... I am not new to body work and have seen many wonderful practitioners over the years. I steered away form Rolfing because it terrified me. Then I met Lynn. We had an extensive conversation and I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. I am in the middle of my 10 series and the change in my body has already been profound. It wasn't painful like I thought it would be. If it ever gets too intense, I simply tell Lynn and she eases and/or finds a different way. Lynn, also, gives excellent information about body awareness that includes real life applications. This information helps sustain the changes. I love my chiropractor but the adjustments would never hold. I am finding that my body is willing and able to accept and hold the Rolfing adjustments. I cannot recommend Lynn more highly. My experience with bodywork has been limited to trips to the Korean day spa or a relaxation massage a few times a year. I have always been interested in going deeper, however, and a 7 series with Lynn seemed the perfect way to do that. It was a fantastic experience. I learned so much about my body! Although I don't suffer from chronic pain, I always felt better after a session-my movements where looser and more free. Lynn was a pleasure to work with, as well. She was so attentive to the particulars of my body--where I needed "space," what parts of me were tender--that I felt totally cared for. Her concern for me and how my body "works" was obvious. Her careful attention felt like a rare luxury, in the sense that for an hour a day, it was really "all about me." And since it always seems to come up, no it didn't hurt--much. I remember being uncomfortable for a few minutes in session 6 or 7. But it was not a "holy hell this hurts" sort of feeling, it was more like "this is annoying and I wish it would stop." (And Lynn would have stopped in a heartbeat had I asked her to--but I didn't, since it didn't hurt that much and I figured the benefits would be worth the temporary discomfort.) Lynn gives excellent restorative massages, too. Nice and deep and her massage room is lovely. To anyone looking for a Rolfer or a massage therapist--Lynn's your woman! read more

I dod the 10-series with Lynn and have been back off and on over the last 2-3 years when I need a tune-up. Not only did I feel like I got a whole new pair of quads, I also took away good lessons in sitting and walking for long-term maintenance. I've sent multiple friends her way, too. As an example of her attentiveness, in my first session I said I had some numbness-tingling in my ring and pinky fingers, which previous physical therapists had attributed to forearm tendonitis. Lynn's practical advice on how to think about my body's structure was just as helpful as her healing touch. She made suggestions to solve posture problems that I didn't even know I had, which in turn helped solve the problems I did know I had. Rolfing is a pretty pricey endeavor, but one that always felt like a really good deal - a great alternative to time-consuming and probably even more exspensive trips to the doctor for neck and back and hand pain. I went to Lynn for severe TMJ/ jaw issues and I've had 3 sessions so far. I was not familiar with ROLFing, but I strongly recommend that you try it. I did the 10 series with Lynn and had a great experience. She was attentive, made the experience very comfortable, and gave many helpful suggestions as to how to think about the body, alignment, and posture - and the interconnections between certain behaviors and actions and strain on the body. For example, the way I walked resulted in unnecessary strain going to one hip which led to some lower back tension. Correcting the walk in turn helped loosen my hips and seems to have made the twinge in my back disappear. The body work itself was great. My only previous association with rolfing was that it was supposed to be very painful. It turns out this is largely a myth. Sometimes strong pressure is applied, but Lynn was very attentive to make sure it was always within a comfort zone. I'm very happy with the experience. I feel that I've loosened a lot of areas in my body that had built up a lot of tension over the years. I also have much more body-awareness, and feel much better able to take care of my joints, back, spine, hips, feet, and the rest of my body, too. read more

I like to say that I am one of the "graduates" of Lynn's 10-series Structural Integration, but in truth, those ten sessions not only adjusted separate little issues I have carried with me for years, but also taught my body a new form of complete awareness. I play the violin for a living, and although I am lucky I've never sustained any playing-related injuries, for over 20 year now have sought after different disciplines of bodywork as a way to maintain the health of my muscles. From the chiropractor's table to Feldenkrais sessions, and a myriad of different massage therapies, I would find them all helpful, soothing but not lasting. Lynn is the first professional I've worked with whose every touch has a purpose and whose work really lasts. I leave her sessions with the fluidity I need in my arms restored and carrying less "weight", my mind clearer. Hi again, It's been about 5 years since I went to Lynn for 10 sessions and I have to report that I still have no pain! I have followed her advice for exercise and as a fellow bassist she had a few pointers that have helped keep me injury free. Playing an instrument for long hours in the opera pit can be horrible for your body but I have not felt any pain at all. Let's see...I walked in with pain and now I'm leaving pain-free. I've just about completed the SI 10 series and have no regrets. I started with issues that included posture problems, basic neck and shoulder tension, periodic lower back pain and painful spams in the upper back. I even had this undescribable thing with my arm that would cause a tingling, "arm asleep" sensation. I had tried a chiropractor, acupuncture and the Alexander Technique but still experienced pain. I had heard the nightmare stories of Rolfing but still decided to give it a try. After my first session with Lynn, I wished I started with her. During the session, she put me at ease and constantly checked in with me. I noticed a difference immediately. With all her help and at home instructions, my body has changed. I was Rolfed for the first when I was working in the corporate world in Atlanta during 1990's by a person who is now president of the Ida P. Rolf Research Foundation and a member of the Rolf Institute faculty. Every time, I left a session, I felt like I greater space within my body. Each session was physically and emotionally transformative. So, needless to say my standards were high. Since then, I've lived in Florida and Arizona and I visited multiple Rolfers with less than desirable results. I felt like I was just getting an extremely deep massage. A few years after living in Los Angeles, I decided to try again. I went on Yelp and found Lynn Cohen. I was drawn to her because she worked with musicians and I was a beginning cello player. Because I was a former massage therapist with some chronic problems, I began to notice how the restrictions in my body were impacting my playing amongst other things. Frankly, after my experiences with lesser skilled Rolfers, I wasn't expecting much. I was more than pleasantly surprised. Lynn is the best! She can look at the body and zero on problems.
