Wine list was quite extensive too, which is a bonus! For mains, we shared the BBQ Pork Ribs with Plum Sauce, Satay Beef and Sizzling Chicken with Garlic. My partner's 6 year old ordered what all 6 year olds would probably order ... chicken nuggets and chips. No, not very Chinese, but I guess the restaurant knows what a good kids menu should include! All our main meals were outstanding - and yes, I was surprised! Especially the BBQ Pork Ribs, which could be 'cut' with a spoon (and had hardly any bones). I swear the meal wasn't as good as this last time we visited (which was about a year ago) - I am seriously impressed, and already planning a return visit. It was amazing. The sauce was flavoursome and certainly didn't seem like out of a jar type of thing. It was served with broccoli pieces as well as a little burning flame in the middle of the plate. My partner had the Sizzling Steak Mongolian style dish and the pieces were tender and juicy, with lovely sweet and tangy Mongolian flavours through-out. The plate was also served with vegetables. I love this place. It's my new found gem. I've been searching a while for a nice place to grab some quality Chinese food, and I think I've found my stop. Staff are friendly and the menu is very diverse. In fact, this is one of the few restaurants I know that have an all you can eat bistro special where the food actually tastes good. The restaurant looks quite nice on the evening too as it is all lit up nicely and the bar area looks well decorated. There are many different items on the menu that I like including their spring rolls (which taste really good), mongolian steak and lemon chicken. All of these are my standard Chinese cuisine favourites and this restaurant all does them rather well. Pricing is perfect with a $10.50 price tag fetching you two not-so-modest-sized portion of any of your two favourites from the buffet menu with a serve of rice. There are lots of tasty vegetables that are served with each dish and the rice they serve meals with is well cooked, not too watery like some other Chinese restaurants I have been too. It does get quite crowded and a tad noisy though but with the food quality, price and the bistro configuration, the restaurant does Chinese food with a modern twist. All you can eat is also offered at the restaurant for around $18 a head however I haven't tried the all you can eat (probably a good thing as I would most certainly overeat.)

Vegetables are generally pretty fresh which is also a positive. The steak is flavorsome however seasoning and sauces on some dishes can sometimes be a bit bland for my taste. The store is well positioned in the heart of McLaren Vale by the caravan park and is good for a quick dinner. Meals are $11 to $16. Personal favorites from the menu are Pork ribs in plum sauce, sizzling pepper chicken, satay chicken and lemon chicken. Rice is sold separately for $3 and is generally nice fluffy. Medium serves are not that much more pricey.

My (Chinese Malay) aunt insists on eating here when she visits Adelaide. Customer service is hit and miss but easily overlooked! My faves - Peking duck, chilli chicken and the roast duck. It does get busy as they are very well known in this area but you still don't usually have to wait long. They do have a beautiful restaurant here with dishes they bring out still sizzling on the plates. They also do great banquets if you are having a funtion or celebrating something here. You can get pretty much a bit of everything for a very small price for a proper restaurant meal. For example their 9 course banquet is under $25 per person for 4 or more (but the 8 course banquet can cater for as few as 2 people and has fried ice cream!!!!). The best and most popular part of this place is the takeaway noodle bar. You can get 2 main meal dishes with either rice or noodles for only $10.80 at dinner time and $9.80 at lunch. There's a great choice of dishes, you can choose just what you want for yours and everyone else can do the same, it's usually all ready to go in the display and you rarely have to wait for more to be cooked. If you do it doesn't take long though. You can also get spring rolls and both fried and steamed dim sims from the take away bar with specials on those as well usually if you buy a few. And of course with all good chinese - don't forget to grab a pack of fortune cookies and some prawn crackers off the counter too!
