It is a stark contrast as I sit here alone, getting a little homesick that I'm not sharing with a friend......Until the bowl comes :) Oh hot noodle beef soup, I love you! The broth is deep and rich with a sweet and salty, perfect Umami flavor. The noodles are hand cut and I pile it high with lime, bean sprouts, and Sriracha. Thank you I say silently to Pho Pasteur, as I slurp up the piping hot goodness stopping once or twice to wipe my mouth. If you are in the area, Pho Pasteur is located at 709 George Street in Haymarket, it will cost you about $11 for a bowl and an extra $2 if you decide to split. You can tell good Vietnamese food when more than half the customers speak Vietnamese and can order without looking at the menu. Highly recommend the fried spring rolls. They make it fresh everyday. In fact when we were there they were making it at the table behind us... I think they hired the Flash as their chef because we got our meals within 10-15 mins after ordering. We also tried the Hanoi calamaris which were pretty chewy and juicy. Not as oily as salt and pepper calamari, yet retained all of its flavour. It's right next to the station and opposite the Hellenic Bakery (good spot for desserts afterwards - if you can still fit it in) Will be back for more!

I initially thought it was a Korean bbq because of the usual air vents above the tables, but it is not!! We were told it was their launch night and $49 for all you can eat buffet, including Wagyu (my favorite) and seafood. A little more than we were looking to spend but the place looked new and we saw the meat and could not resist. Letz Grill is not Korean, or is it specifically Vietnamese. It's a fusion of the two.. there was Kimchi and Rice paper wraps and gave a great mix of options to eat. Of course we went straight for the Wagyu! Which we were told was 9+ grading. Either way, it was delicious . We had our charcoal grill loaded with Wagyu and huge prawns. They offered us a bowl of complimentary Pho which we accepted. A good size (not too big, save room for Wagyu) and it was extremely tasty. It was made with Wagyu brisket. So good, some went for a second bowl. We were so full, struggled to walk out. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary in Bankstown, go to Letz Grill. You and your tastebuds will thank me for it. Amazing food, new clean restaurant, happy helpful staff and good value. I'll be back. Hopefully they will be licensed. The lime, mint and jackfruit drink was delicious. The service was friendly and accommodating and they replaced the grill several times when it got charred.
