What a shame. I have been coming here since I was 5. I'm 38 years old, and still skate here from time to time. Not because it's affordable, but because it's the ONLY skating rink. It's gone to their heads. It's 12:15am and I just got back from running my 14 year old son a shirt because he wasn't dressed in accordance with "dress code." My son was in the parking lot with his friend, no adults, not safe at all. "Dress Code," isn't specific, or listed anywhere. My son was wearing a meme shirt that said CHILL across the front. What a load of horse doodle. "Richard," has no business in a "Security" shirt. He needs to stick with the Pepsi uniform. If they are so concerned with gangs at an all night skate, then they should have someone with some experience and knowledge in the field. read more

Tried to call this place 5 times to get info but no one will pick up the phone. Came here to have my daughter's birthday party with 5 of her friends. Brought a small cake and candles. Door manager said that I can't bring in the cake unless I reserve a birthday party which costs $175. Real nice. No information about this policy on the website and no one answering the phone. To say that the food here is terrible is an insult to lousy food everywhere. The "food," if it can legally be called that, is an abomination! Let me preface this review by saying that I understand that this is a roller rink and that its merit should not be judged solely on its cuisine. I, therefore, will also review the facility itself. Buckle up. It's going to get bumpy. My family and I were there on January 20th for my niece's birthday party. My sister-in-law bought the party package which consisted of soft drinks and pizza. The soft drinks were standard fountain type drinks. Let me back up and say that my brother-in-law bought nachos before the food arrived. These were your average, concession style offering with yellow "cheese" and no jalapenos to be found anywhere in sight. If your marquee advertises nachos with jalapenos, the least you can do is go out and buy the 55-gallon drum for Costco for ten bucks, especially when it's a small nacho boat that costs $3.50! Now for the pièce de résistance, the "pizza"! The jury is still out on if this technically qualifies as pizza. I am still under the impression that it was cardboard covered with sauce, cheese, and the worlds greasiest pepperoni, which may or may not have been dog treats! It was sad really and coming from someone who is not a big fan of pizza that is saying something. My wife, who is the biggest pizza lover I know, didn't even like it! Bottom line, eat before you go or eat afterward. You've been warned. On to the facility. We used to live in the area and went to Roller Towne once about 15 years ago. It looked the same down to the ratty carpet that permeates the building. They even carpeted the picnic table inside giving them that "homeless chic" look. The aroma inside is somewhere between sweaty socks and roadkill on the 198 during the summer. And the equipment seemed to be in decent shape. No potholes on the rink floor or skates missing wheels, etc. They even have roller blades now. I wasn't sure how much my sister-in-law paid, but I do know that my niece had a good time along with the rest of the family. The staff seemed nice and helpful judging from the fact that none of the ladies in our group mentioned anything negative about them. In all a good outing in comparison to going to some God forsaken place like Chuck E Cheese! read more

For years this place has been a family favorite until our most recent visit. My daughter attended a birthday party and could not eat the food that was served. I went to the snack bar to see if there was any other menu items that would accommodate her food allergy. My daughter has celiac decease and there is no food to accommodate her. I went next door to Chuck E. Cheese to buy her a gluten-free pizza and was not allowed back in with the pizza because of the "no outside food allowed " policy. I told the manager that my daughter has a food allergy and they had no food to accommodate her. She repeated that there was no outside food allowed and further, said that she has to follow the rules. My daughter sat there with no food while the rest of the kids ate pizza. I was so disappointed that a manager was okay with letting a child go hungry on their account. Place itself is pretty fun , but shoes are really over-worn. As soon as we walked in it smelled like sweaty feet! Could be the carpet b/c the bowling place we had been to earlier also rents out shoes and didn't smell at all! Anyways it's really a fun place we went on a Saturday "ladies night" which is free entrance the only downside from that is that if you're learning to skate its really hard to b/c once it seems you're about to get it they start to incorporate games for those who do know how to skate. So we were pretty much only skating for a total of one hour and a half from the 3 hours since they do the games every ten minutes or so. read more

We had our daughter's birthday party at Roller Towne. Upon arrival Ibwas told we needed to list every child who would attend. I listed as many as I could think of but expressed that there might be a few school friends who could show up. "No problem, we will let them in if they tell us they are here for (daughter's name) party. WRONG WRONG WRONG A boy came who we know and he has a different name. The girl could not figure it out and sent him away, she did not even come ask is if he was part of our party. Thankfully my brother in law was coming in at that time and told me what happened. I literally ran out to the parking lot and brought him back in. So if you dont get the names on the list correct your guests will be denied entrance and you will not even know it. This place is way too over priced. Came in on a Tuesday and with two adults and two children and 4 skate rentals.. Spent over $30.. okay a bit pricey but it is a business with employees so it's not too bad.. I THOUGHT, because next thing you know everything is priced way high and nothing is free. It's really disappointing that I have to pay for a small cup of water (which is priced the same as a regular drink) even when this establishment is known to exert tons of energy via rollerblading/skating. It's like a gym that charges a fee to use the water fountain.. I mean common. But let's not focus on the way this place charges for every possible thing applicable in the location, what about the arcade? HALF THE ARCADE GAMES DIDN'T WORK! And not only that but almost $2 to play a minute of Jurassic park? These people must be high to charge so much. But regardless, I tried out an arcade game and it ate my quarters with no game. I went to go ask for a refund on both arcade games since there is no "out of order" sign on them and the employees directed me to the stupid sign that says "no refunds" on the arcade games.. okay yeah if it said out of order I understand but how many people have put quarters into these games without knowing they won't work? Not cool. I'll give it 1 star only because I enjoyed the only part that I'm glad I payed for, the skating. Don't go here, management is non existent and it's basically outdated and crappy. read more

Beware of trying to bring in your own birthday cake. They will not let you bring it in unless you pay their hefty party package fee. We had my daughter's birthday party here but didn't want the birthday package, as our group was made up of 6 adults and only 2 kids. We still spent well over $100 on tickets, skates, pizza and drinks. But, when we tried bringing in an ice cream birthday cake we were told "tough luck". I had to put up a big fuss just to get them to put it in the freezer, so it wouldn't melt. My daughter didn't know about any of this and had a great time but it ruined her party for all the adults. read more

My family and I came here to skate. My oldest didn't skate but I had to pay normal price for her still. Ok no problem.. I was leaving to go run an errand and my oldest was going with me (the one that was not skating) I asked for a stamp so we can get back in. The manager older older lady said that I could come back in for free but I would have to repay admission for my daughter to come back in. I was like seriously.. she said yes. She also went on to say there is a sign that says it. I then told her not everyone reads the signs. It would have been nice to be informed before paying. I replied back to her stating that well, you need to educate your staff on this to let people know because when I was up front debating whether or not I should pay for her to come in because we were going to leave and come back, the employee who took my money should have advised me that if I left with my daughter that I would have to repay $7.50 admission again for her to come back in. (Her being the manager and working in customer service she should've had better management and customer service skills)On another note, the employee that checked me in stated that she wasn't aware of the policy if you leave you have to repay. I have been to many other skating rinks in the state and I can say that this one is definitely one of the nicest. It appears that they have done some recent work on the inside (I use to remember this place to be smelly, dark and dingy) The carpet looks new, there are new large flat-screen televisions, and new rental skates. The old ones were way too hard to skate in. The snack bar food is good and reasonably priced. Now when I say reasonably priced I am comparing against such places like the bowling alley and movie theater. My favorite item to get there is the nachos with jalapenos. No matter how old you are, if you are bored on the weekend and need something to do I highly recommend this place!. read more

I work at a skating rink in Clovis. A couple of my coworkers and I decided to go for their all night skate on Memorial day, 2015. They don't have any rules!! The freaking hockey players there have completely run it down! I fell twice over those stupid kids and fractured, nearly broke my arm! This place didn't even have any staff onsite with medical training!! This place sucks and I wouldn't recommended it to anyone. read more

I have being skating on multiple different rings in 7 states and this by far is the worst floor ever! It literally made of plastic and it's, it flees like they don't even try to clean it or whatever. Haven't checked out the food so no comment there. But they need to change the floor to wood or concrete. The service is pretty good and everyone was nice and they have really good music they only good things so far. But I could barely do anything on this floor poor. read more

Roller Towne is as awesome as I remember. They have a great variety of music to keep you entertained and having fun, affordable pricing is great & they offer a variety of roller skate options. They have bonus arcade games and even have fun games to play on the rink (corner game, red light- green light, and racing) & offer free drinks to winners. Lots of fun for everyone in the family. Overall it's a good place to take kids, unfortunately the last time we took our kids we had an incident that we needed to talk to the manager about. He was rude inexperienced in handling patrons and did a terrible job at resolving the problem. We left feeling as if we weren't listed to and absolutely not appreciated as customers. We go quite often and spend plenty of money at the establishment. I feel they need a better standard of practice in dealing with customer related issues. Roller Towne is probably the most unsafe rink I have ever been to. The staff doesn't enforce safety rules, so there is a lot of reckless skating that causes innocent bystanders to get severely hurt. They let these kids they affectionately call "rink rats" do whatever they want on the rink, regardless if it is against the rules and unsafe. They rarely have staff members actually skating the rink to enforce safety, in fact they usually have a skeleton crew of employees. The lack of employees makes for long lines at the entrance, snack bar, and skate counter. Food is okay and the employees aren't necessarily rude, they just don't really seem to care much. It really is too bad, because Roller Towne has one of the best lighting and sound systems around for skating. They just need to work on their customer service and safety standards. read more

Had a great time with some friends and family. This rink was baby friendly. I had an infant with me in a stroller and we were allowed to skate with him as long as he was inside the stroller, just as long as a child wasn't pushing it. It was a great idea for families with little kids who are uncomfortable skating, the kids can hang onto the stroller. Brilliant! They don't allow baby carrying while skating for obvious reasons though. read more

Not at all like it used to be. Went to a birthday party and it took us 30 minutes to get in. The party was only 2 hours long! Staff wasn't very knowledgeable. Someone knocked my sons large soda in the trash right after getting it and all the staff did was give us a new lid and straw so he had half a soda and a dirty cup. Most places try to go above and beyond to make guests want to return but Roller Towne didn't even try. It was also soo hot in there even when not skating. I was very disappointed. Also kids were running crazy without skates and apparently you can now take your young kids on a crowded rink as long as you also bring a jogging stroller. Talk about dangerous. read more

RUDE STAFF, VERY UNSANITARY! I went in early to pay the balance and see our area. The manager was there setting up with a young boy probably her grandson. They didn't know I was at the window waiting and watching them. Boy was I was horrified at what I saw. The boy stuck his hand into the ice dispenser and ate an ice chip. I mentioned this to the manager and she completely blew me off by saying "I have a cup of ice for him". I repeated myself and said he stuck his hand into the ice. She then said, "oh ok". Then she asked that I return at a later time since the cashier / staff wasn't there. It was too late to book our party elsewhere but believe me I will tell everyone what I saw. I'm also submitting a letter to the health / food department. On the day of the party the staff was RUDE to my guests and myself. The pizza was so DISGUSTING in taste. It's sad because they know it's the only skating rink in the area and they don't care about providing good customer service. read more

As far as Roller Skating w/ Family & Friends this place is okay. Thank GOD it hardly rains here in The Valley as The Roof leaks and has for years. Admission is cheap and rink is pretty good.Do NOT come on free admission nights as The Floor is wall to wall people with no chance of moving.My review here is for anyone thinking of playing Hockey here.I can only speak for The B League here.Although there are some GREAT People in The B-League.The Guy who runs it makes The Rules as he goes.This is a league of lifelong friends and they take care of their own. If you do not fit in you'll be in for a Nightmare of a time.The Refs are all friends of The Players and call The Games in favor of them.The same refs play in games to after they ref.That right there is a problem as favoritism runs wild. I saw a player so intoxicated after a game and his so called friends were okay w/ him getting behind the wheel to drive home. I gave him a ride as there was no way he should be driving.If you come to play and show any skill level or The B-League GODS don't like you,You will be put up in The A League.The guy who runs B-League has over 200 goals but will not play where he belongs in The A League. He takes joy moving anyone who threatens his 20 goal seasons by getting rid of them.The rules change for friends.The owners play in The League and enjoy taking liberties w/ other players knowing they can do whatever they want to.I made The Mistake of checking one of The Owners who goes after smaller players. I got a call The Next Day that I was not only banned from Hockey but The Building to.B-League is a total Mess as some get away w/ murder but others get The Shaft.Try playing hockey when The Refs are Friends of The League heads and owners.They play only 2 periods of 18 mins here. If you are looking to play Hockey without The hassle go to Clovis as they play 3 periods. No usars insurance( required by roller towne which is an additional $20.00 ) and is a nightmare in itself .Clovis Hockey is only $60.00 as compared to roller townes $115.00 . You will not get a refund if they ask you to leave. The people running The office over there are beyond stupid. Watch you're credit card charges as multi charging happens.If you are looking for a good time playing hockey this isn't the place.Clovis is a drive but it is worth every mile as there is NO favoritism or crybabies there. read more
