when my father was buried here back in 2015, his plot was in the newest area - very well maintained and pretty green lawn. now it's been 11 years, i went to go visit him today, and i noticed the last several times i been here the lawn has been looking very unkept. i get that you want to keep the newest areas polished because you're selling the space, but how about we maintain all areas of the park? our family paid for my father to be in this area because it's beautiful and i dont want to come here and sit down with him with a super overgrown, uneven lawn. probably might not sound like the biggest deal to many but i wish this area was still nice and clean for him. i almost wanted to go tell this worker to come and clean up the area! just keep in mind for those who purchase the newer areas, expect that eventually it's going to look overgrown and unkept as they start making other new plot areas. read more

as i was visiting a family member of mine, this lady decided to start harassing me and my visit at the cemetery. i couldn't bring myself to get out of the vehicle so rather than ask if i was ok or make some type of communication she stopped in the rolling hills vehicle for more than 10 minutes. she then decided to still watch me from the top of the hill. given this is a place of grievance the fact that basic respect cannot be provided by its own staff is outrageous. this place dosent serve its purpose for families other than wanting to make a profit off a loved one. read more

Once again Kirk, an awesome young man who works with the grounds crew at Rolling Hills Memorial Park. He made me a promise that when the next shipment of sod was received, that he would replace sod at my Husbands grave site. My husbands grave site was looking so bad, and continued to get worse, that I was going to ask him to be moved and then file a formal complaint with the State of California. But Kirk did exactly what he said he would do!! He replaced the sod , leveled his headstone, which is an extreme work of art, and then sent me photos!! Rolling Hills has an awesome worker on their staff!! He is definitely an asset to Rolling Hills. Thank you Kirk!!! I can't say enough good things about Rolling Hills Memorial Park. They helped our family through one of the hardest times in our lives, and from day one, they were so patient and compassionate. The whole burial process felt overwhelming at first, but they walked us through everything step by step. Kevin Wu deserves special recognition because he was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was so kind and supportive, and he really understood Chinese burial traditions, which meant everything to us. I was at the cemetery to visit the graves of my parents. I noticed they needed tidying up because of dirt and grass. I went to the office and told them. Daryl Prater was so helpful. He went and got the groundskeepers, Daryl and Edgar to help. They cleaned up the grass and dirt and even sprayed the . It looked really nice after they finished. If I could give Rolling Hills 0 stars I would, but since I can't, I'll settle for 1 star. My family had a deeply frustrating and painful experience with Rolling Hills Cemetery. Before my grandfather passed away, he purchased a burial plot next to my grandmother's--who had passed over a decade earlier--to ease the burden on our family when the time came. Unfortunately, what should have been a smooth and respectful process turned into a year-long nightmare. After his passing, it took nearly a full year for his headstone to be placed. During that time, the cemetery became nearly impossible to reach. Calls from our family went unanswered, and we were repeatedly left in the dark about what was happening and when things would be completed. This was not only unprofessional, but incredibly disrespectful. Losing a loved one is already hard enough--Rolling Hills made it harder. The lack of communication and accountability made what should have been a peaceful process unnecessarily stressful and hurtful. I would not recommend this cemetery to any family looking for dignity and care for their loved ones. read more

I was here a few months ago for a cousin'a memorial and visited a few family members. My family in particular are located in Serenity and their graves are overgrown completely. We came back today and cleaned them ourselves. This is frustrating due to the fact we are not local and the park is not upkeeping the grounds. Rolling Hills Memorial Park is right off of the freeway in Richmond. They are a huge memorial park that provide burial and other services as well. My family bought a few designated cemetery plots here over 20 years ago - one of them was for a close family member who passed away at that time. We recently had another close family member who passed away and one of those plots were intended for that family member. Anyway, on the day of the burial / ceremony, we found out that the plots were in different areas that what we were promised and bought (paid in advance over 20 years ago, but I guess all these people care about is money, but not their loyal customers), but there was nothing we could do since other people have been buried in between those plots. There was also a change in either ownership or management since then. During a hard and tragic time when a loved one passes away, it is already difficult / tough and sad, so one of the last things you want to think about are all these problems. When you arrive with your family and friends at the cemetery for the burial, you would expect at least a smooth burial process, but to find out all these problems and that ones that cannot be fixed, especially since they had already digged the hole somewhere else and we were already there with our loved one in the casket. Anyway, I did not want to make this kind of review, especially for a cemetery / memorial park, but my fellow Yelpers should know of this personal experience that my family dealt with here before they consider choosing a place that is money hungry and does not keep their promises (even if it is change of ownership / management over the years). Losing a loved one is already difficult, so being able to find and have a good cemetery / memorial park to bury / visit your loved ones at should be an easy and a stress free experience / process. read more

on August 5th 2025 I was visiting my love ones in the garden of peace. I'm walking to my mother's grave and suddenly I fell into a 2ft hole. this is just unbelievable and this has been almost two weeks haven't heard from anyone in the office. a man named Jay gave me card but never reached out to even see if I was ok. when my leg fell into the hole it went pass my knee cap. most of the graves are covered with grasss and dirt are love ones should be treated with respect and dignity period. since this fall i have been off work for almost two weeks with this big boot on my feet. I'm not a fan of the new owners. They don't respect people's wishes to leave out small decorations at family members headstones. They come and "clean" the grounds and remove and break objects making it difficult for you to locate loved ones. This was a plant stake with a small angel wind chime that I placed at three family members headstones. All three were broken and shoved into the ground next to the headstones. Absolutely no respect. They also removed the small fencing I placed. If you and your family are considering this cemetery know that your wish to decorate headstones will not be respected. read more

Both my grandparents and my mother were cremated and we spread their ashes in the little area of the Oak lawn that has 2 patches of nasty dry dirt and a memorial wall with plaques. This area is never maintained except when they come and remove the little trinkets we leave for our loved ones. Its like this area is forgotten. I see then newer part is all nice and green and well maintained. Well not so much for where my loved ones are at. It is literally DEPRESSING to go visit this unkept area where my people have been placed. It is no right. I have made complaints before and nothing has been done. The only time they go to the area is to remove items we leave. Which is very wrong. We should be allowed to leave little items in remembrance of our loved ones without them being removed and thrown away. They are not hurting anything and it is very disrespectful. All they care about is getting money and then they dont give a damn. I would not recommend this place to anyone. FInd another cemetery if you care about your loved ones. Rolling Hills has been there for our family. Our father passed in 2019 and 4 months later during Covid my mother passed. Everyone was amazing in assisting our family from the beginning to end. In February of 2024 my mother in law passed. We reached back out to Rolling Hills and we were assigned to Rose AFTER working with a terrible representativ. Rosa was and continues to be absolutely amazing. She is patient, listens and doesn't push. She understands the expenses and gives options. We are very thankful for her assistance; not only with my mother in law, but my parent's headstones that we are constantly having issues with. I'm only giving a 1 star because I find it really heartbreaking that this is the second time I've bought really nice vases to put on my grandparents grave and they just were STOLEN. And the park has no way of cracking down on it. At first I thought it was the landscaping people but as I spoke to someone in the office they informed me that it had to have been someone that stole it. How do you not have a way of cracking down on that. These are our loved ones we put trust in you guys to take care of. Our mother was buried in August of this year, 2023. It is now October, 2023 and we still have not had her script ordered. We have been working with Mark who has been incapable of returning our calls. I have talked to him once and he said to call him on his cell phone and when I did he never called back. I also texted him with what we would like to do for the script and called again with the office to have him call me back and he has not. My sister called and left him a message then left a message with his supervisor and he called my sister back with an excuse about his mom never having a script and said he'd call back and he still hasn't called back. We just want our mom to have her script done so we can complete her final resting place. It's an easy order because it is right along side our father in the same plot. Is there no one else there that can get this order done?!! We are ready to pay to get this completed!! Another complaint we have is the vase that came with the original headstone has been stolen!! I visited the Memorial park on the day before Mother's Day! The park was adorned with several bouquets of flowers across the green fields. So many people there to visit the sleeping graves of loved ones and those women we look st as our queens, our dear Mother's. The grounds were well maintained as usual. My moms site was well manicured and grass a lovely spruce green. Thanks to Rolling Hills for keeping the ground nice. There was something I did not like and thy was they had staff out passing out advertisement for sales for purchase plots. I thought that was a bit distasteful which is why I'm giving only 3 stars! People were lined up to get into the cemetery and I wondered what was the hold up and to my surprise it was the staff passing out flyers disguised as a raffle.
