There is a rehabilitation side where the patients do not live here but are here for an extended stay. There is a large therapy gym with a pool on this side and each hallway has its own nurses station, nurses supply closet, own seating area with a tv (there are tv's in bedrooms too) and its own dining room. I really like the elegant touches. The other side of the building has long term patients. Each hallway is the same as the rehab side and there is a smaller rehab room. There is a lovely pond on this side of which I put my two pet turtles in when I moved away. Patients saw them as a sign of good luck and enjoy watching them. I hear they eat popcorn often being that on each side of the building there is a popcorn machine. (there are also ice cream machines. There is a chapel, rooms to reserve for private family birthdays/holidays, there are activities like bingo and cards, and overall this is a great place. I was once the person in charge of supplies. I know that we ordered the best quality of products and if we didn't have it I'd run out and buy it. Our Kitchen is high end and our house keeping department has a great room with washer/dryer, a large folding table and so on. You really just have to go and see it for yourself. Jack Vetter the founder visits often, his mother stayed at the sister facility Brookestone Village. The Administrator is a very knowledgeable and nice person. He had been a nurse for several years then was the director of nursing before the administrator so he's done the dirty work and knows what it takes to provide quality care. The Administrative assistant is a kind professional woman, she had her father stay for rehabilitation while I was working there. I could go on about the staff, HR is great, and so on. I'd stay here if I needed rehab.

They have a workout area & large TV room on each floor. Their dining room is on the main floor with a menu for every day items and then you have a choice for the special of the day. If you are a visitor, you can purchase a lunch ticket to join your family or friend. They have different events going on every day to keep people busy & active. They have a popcorn room that also serves as a coffee room. They had free vital checks with weight, BP and oxygen checks . Another day they had a hearing test. They keep their tenants up-to-date with any changes with newsletters that go out. It seems the care quality here is top notch. There's plenty to do in the Legacy block area if you want to get out & shop or walk around.

Don't get me wrong there are great nurses, CNAs, and homemakers out there, but 75% of the employees here are here for a check, no love or compassion for the residents. I've seen people give five minute showers and slap residents around just to get done fast so they can get everything done at a certain time just to sit on their butt and be on their phone most of the night. There are employees coming to work drunk, high, and just straight up crappy attitudes! There are many employees on third shift falling asleep, some get in trouble some get nothing more than a warning and a high five. It's fair to say that this place picks favorites and treats their employees very sketchy, even in payroll they find ways to basically rip you off of your hard earned work. Which is probably why they have so many crappy employees because they're not treated the way they should be treated and they just get burnt out and start slacking. I loved working here, because of the residents and a small handful of close fellow employees. I thought once Amanda Langford took over it will get better, but the communication is still lacked on so many levels. I wouldn't necessarily say on Amanda's behalf, but advising your staff to have better communication with each other would be the most beneficial thing to do...

The care that mother is receiving there is beyond anything I could have imagined. My following words not only reflect my mother's care, but the care of the other residents, from my observations. My mother was smiling, clean, well fed (with AMAZING food), medications given personally, wounds and health issues taken care of daily, exercise, faith needs met, and most importantly....................given constant respect and kind words by ALL the staff. Continual conversations and socialization are a daily routine there for all the residents.
