I got stuck in Boulder by one of CO's famous summer afternoon rain storms and decided to pop in to get a cut and wait out both the rain and impending traffic, and what a phenomenal decision this place was! If you go here make sure to ask for Asher. He has next level barber skills that are worth way more than $30, on top of which I think we laughed and had such a good time that we might have actually annoyed the other barbers. Regardless, he immediately made me feel as if I had been going there my entire life (and if I lived here I would). I really miss that feel of a good barber shop that I would get in NE, plus the owner is a song man like me out of Nashville which always gets my respect, always. Anyways, keep giving those dope fades boys, and keep doling out the laughs. It keeps us young, which in turn keeps more hairs on all of our heads to be cut later by you. In my experience, Truman Barber Co is the best barber shop in Boulder for gender and sexual minority folks. Their staff exudes a high level of multicultural competence and respect for clients of various backgrounds and needs. Also, they can hook you up with those sick queer haircuts you've always wanted. The store aesthetic is eye candy. Masculine in terms of its gender expression and filled with unique and original intersectional forms of art. Further, the staff is composed of people from various gender, sexual, and ethnic identities. As someone who comes from non-majority identities, I always feel safe here. 10/10 recommend! read more

After moving to Boulder recently and having to leave my barber of 6 years, I wasn't sure I would be able to find a shop that could live up to my prior cuts. Well, after going several times now I have to say that Truman Barber is my new favorite shop. Anthony has a great eye, attention to detail, sense of style, and communicates to understand exactly what I was looking for. Best hair cut I have ever had (and my girlfriend thinks so too). I would say after five years of living in Boulder that this is by far the best shop in the city. If you're looking for value it is here, $30 haircut with $100-150 quality. Trust me I've spent a good amount of money on haircuts throughout the years and these guys could be charging a lot more if they wanted to. This place is outstanding. Incredibly consistent and clean cuts every time. I never leave with hair pieces down my back. Ask for Barber Justin (check out his Instagram @barberjustin), he's meticulous and through, I'm sure the rest of the guys are too. The real deal as far as barber shops go. I go there from Fort Collins specifically for Asher but all the barbers there are on top of their game. Attention to detail for their craft from them all of them is next level. Friendly banter in the shop between the barbers over music and other life stuff makes it a fun place to be as well. Great spot for getting a good cut. I have 3 boys (8,5,4) and we've all been into Truman to get our cuts, and each time we have returned home to an opinionated Momma to big smiles. The atmosphere is great with outstanding records playing. The shop is very clean and modern while the guys cutting hair are very down to earth and friendly. Best haircut I've had since moving to Boulder and a super rad, simple environment. I am a woman, but have a men's style haircut and these guys were super cool about (no, not everyone is) and were able to get me in almost right away. Went in for a gender-affirming "queer mullet" and Ben did not disappoint! I really appreciated his attentiveness to my vision for my hairstyle, and the way he made it work with my hair texture.
