No way to treat a customer who paid alot for the cakes! Also, please note, we put the crosses on the cake, they did not provide! This is the worst place ever. I have regularly frequented several bakeries over the years with no issues, but this is my first and last experience with this one. I shared photos of the cake I wanted and gave instructions on colors to be used. Not only were none of my instructions followed, the colors they used for the decorations and words on the cake didn't even match. I ordered here for a quick last minute party. Ordered the Tiramisu and the Fudge Cake. It came frozen-which is fine since I ordered last minute. But at $70.00 total I spent for the 2 cakes (smallest sizes), they were incredibly dry. Tiramisu: -barely any espresso used. - Cake gets dry QUICK. - This is NOT lady fingers. It seems to be a very light cake (like angelfood). -The top is pretty, but very little cocoa. They used the cocoa as a decoration to make flowers/whorls, so there is very very little of that cocoa flavor. -Looks like just a white cream cake with mascarpone in the middle. The mascarpone layer is nice-and tastes close to authentic. But that is it. Fudge Cake: Dry cake-it crumbles if it is out for any longer than a few minutes. Very sweet/sugar buttercream in the middle. Little chocolate flavor. The Ganache on top is pretty, but gritty like the sugar was not dissolved. read more

This is impossible. The date was October 20th. I said please give me a refund. She is arrogant and refused to give me back my money. Wow what a dissapointing experience and during such a blessed time of Easter that no doubt this business profits heavily from. I took my daughter in this morning to pick out a special cake for her upcoming First Holy Communion. It was the first day my husband, myself and my daughter could all go together and we wanted to make it a special trip. It was quiet in the shop with only one person ahead of us. When asked how we could be helped I explained we wanted to order a cake for an upcoming Communion. The owner, seemingly annoyed, exclaimed "No No No not until after Easter" I said the event was after Easter and wanted to place the order now. She continued to shake her head saying "After Easter". She then rudely says "Well what do you want? I don't know what you want!" I assumed this would be the time that the person who gives the service would lend some advice or show some examples. Nothing of the sort. Just leaving us standing there as if we were doing something wrong. I ordered a tiramisu cake to be picked up a few days before Christmas and was very disappointed by both the service and the cake itself. First, their system for serving customers is nonexistent. When you walk in, it's like a free for all with no organization for customers who are picking up versus ordering in store. The blatant disregard for customers' time is readily apparent. Second, they charge a surcharge for credit cards, which they don't inform you of at the time of order. I was also misquoted for the price of the cake. Third, the cake itself was underwhelming and overpriced. The ratios were all off. It's effectively a cream cake, with an enormous layer of cream and a very small layer of espresso/kahlua. I'm not sure there was any mascarpone at all that I could detect. All the people claiming this place makes traditional and authentic Italian is puzzling. The rum cake is awesome, and even the cookies are remarkable. If you're there around Christmas, check to see if they have panettone. It often sells out, but don't miss it if you can get it. The people at Roma are nice, the baked goods are delicious, and they usually have a good selection of stuff pre-made if you're entertaining and didn't get around to placing an order in advance. I went to the bakery in person and ordered a custom cake for my daughter's birthday. They sketched out a great design and we talked about the wonderful flowers and honeybee decorations I wanted for the cake. This was a very pricey cake, but the first time I have ever ordered a custom cake and I wanted it to be a center piece. The cake I got looked terrible. The entire cake was air brushed, looked blurry and unfinished. I had wanted fondant decorations, not anything drawn on. I called to discuss to figure out where the break down in communication happened, as the cake looked terrible even for an air brush attempt and the owner told me that there was nothing she could do and hung up on me. I hadn't known anyone whose ever ordered from here but for a small bakery like that that has been open for 20+ years - how could it be bad? The lady told me they had one of those. Turns out, the same cake that serves 4-6 people is also the same cake that serves 8-10 people. Fail. I asked for no flowers. It had roses everywhere. I was told it would be $18 which I was almost okay with but I ordered it anyway hoping it'd be this delicious, little Italian cake. It ended up being $21 plus tax. The icing was uber sweet. The cake was good, but I expected much more. I felt like I could have gotten a cake like that at Giant and been just as happy. This Italian bakery is a little jewel in Blue Bell, PA. I've been to LOTS of Italian bakeries all across the U.S. and this by far beats all of them in terms of quality and flavor. They have the BEST tiramisu cake EVER. I first had the cake at a friend's house when I was a teenager, and no tirasimu I've had since then has compared. The cream is very light, hazelnut and coffee flavored, sandwiched between light fluffy and moist cake layers. It's not too sweet, but perfectly delectable, not drenched in liquor, and SOOO GOOOOD!! Their cookies are also DELICIOUS!!! Any of their mini cookies stuffed with jam (raspberry, strawberry or apricot) with a thin coating of white chocolate or milk chocolate. The cookie part is just fluffy and light, melts-in-your-mouth-GOOD with the perfect amount of jam inside, all so soft but the crispy chocolate cover makes it SOOO delicious and unique, a perfect soft cookie with the crispy chocolate shell. Called the next day to let the bakery know what happened and asked what type of icing was on the cake. I was told it was buttercream and needed to be refrigerated. I suggested that perhaps the store should let patrons know this when they picked up their cake as I didn't know it had to be refrigerated. I was rudely told that "well now you know" and hung up on. My family and myself have purchased numerous items from this bakery all of which have been absolutely delicious.
