This place probably should be getting 4 stars for the level of the food however, given the slow…read morepace of getting our dishes out to our table compounded by the fact our first two menu choices were not avaliable, I have no choice but to give this place three stars.
With thay being said, If you have time to wait and relax, and are open minded about ordering a dish that may not be your first choice, this little restaurant is pretty amazing.
This was the first place I ate from in Rome as my fiance and I arrived late and slept most of the day away. We didnt want to venture too far from our hotel, so we found this place by chance while using google maps to try and get directions to another restaurant.
I was more than pleasantly surprised by the interior and atmosphere of this place, they do a great job with creating a Caribbean vibe and I instantly felt comfortable.
I dont speak Italian, and our waitress who was very warm and accommodating, didnt speak too much English, so we found middle ground in speaking a bit of Spanish to one and other and going with the 'point to the menu' ordering method.
As I said earlier, our first menu choices were fried and grilled fish, which at the time of our visit were not avaliable, which detracted from my Yelp score for them. We instead ordered the Cuban Fried and Grilled Chicken respectively.
The service was slow, considering the fact at the time we arrived there was only one other couple inside who had already begun eating. When we finally got our orders however It made the wait we endured feel a bit worth it, and as I said earlier these were the only reasons I am not willing to give four stars.
Outside of this, the food itself alone is deserving of four stars, and I would recommend this place to other travellers to experience themselves, and its my hope your service speed will be a bit faster than ours.
