DO NOT USE ROMANIUK! I purchased a $9K Lennox heat pump/AC installation from them and it took them multiple trips to get it properly installed. A second installer had to come out to rectify 'deficiencies' in the first installer's work. As part of the 'job', I also requested that they install a gas line to a stove and BBQ on the same day as the AC install to minimize my time off work. No one showed-up to complete the gas line work, but I later found it was included in my AC install invoice. After multiple calls, they finally came out to install the gas lines, however, their work DID NOT pass the City inspection and I am still waiting for a callback on how they are going to correct the installation. They probably have the have the worst customer service I have ever experience as every contact requires a 'call back' that you rarely receive. Using ROMANIUK has cost me multiple lost work days due to their incompetence and dysfunction. read more

Update: After leaving this review Walter a manager came out to look at the upstairs furnace. He wasn't willing to upgrade us to a quieter unit at their cost after everything we had gone through (see below). He mentioned he saw this review and called me a liar. There started the heated disagreement over everything. I told them that they could take everything back and I'm taking my business elsewhere. I refuse to be treated horribly and worse no one returning any calls. I hate to believe that it's because I'm a woman but that's the vibe that was laid out and they way I felt. I am over trying to get this company to finish my installation. It's been a month and I have yet to get my AC installed. I have never had this many issues with one company even when renovating by entire duplex with 5 different contractors! This is how it all started: April 18 I was told that the two furnaces and AC would be installed. Then get a call the day before that the electrical panel would need a sub panel. I knew there was room and had to get their electrican to come out to look on a Friday at 7 pm and tell me that yes there is room he just moved a few things around. Come April 18 the basement furnace was installed the next day a crew was too come out and do the upstairs furnace NO ONE showed up! So I get rescheduled for 2 weeks out. Two weeks out Tim comes to install the upstairs furnace. Right when he comes in he has the attitude that he doesn't want to be there. He's shown the job and complains, sighs, rolls his eyes and is rude. I kicked him out of my house and off the job. Speak to Walter the manager on the phone this this isn't acceptable and then find out Tim was not sent home but out to a different job where he was kicked out by another home owner!!! Now two more weeks go by and another crew comes Darrien and his partner are great. The issue comes when they turn on the furnace. I wanted to have all the piping out the roof and they didn't want to do this so I said fine if you can not go up like if there is absolutely no way go out the back. They didn't even try to go out the roof they are straight away out the back. When the furnace is on the venting out the back is so loud near my bedroom window!!!! The new furnace is louder then my old one and creates this irritating loud humming that vibrates the wall. We were especially specific that this furnace needed to be quiet as it's beside the bedroom. So now this isn't going to work. Then they were finished at 1 and didn't have the time to install the AC? After being messed around this much this job should have been a priority and it's clearly not. I called Romaniuk three times to book yet again for another day for the AC installation and NO ONE called me back! I had to have the installers call the manager to book me in for Tuesday otherwise I'd be waiting another 2 weeks. I'm honestly at the point of you can take both your furnaces back and I'll call someone who actually cares about their customers. I'm tired of being lied to, ignored and rescheduled. This is the last straw. If this isn't resolved and fixed by Tuesday I'm starting a BBB complaint. read more

Until today, we have been very happy with your products (furnace, air conditioning) and service (emergency service twice), but overnight it seems to have changed; seven days to book emergency service for a furnace you installed that has quit working? Almost 30 minutes to answer a call? Overseas call centre so no local contact? What kind of service is that? Is Romaniuk now too big? Fortunately, we found a truly local company by phone who can arrive here in a few hours to fix our furnace. read more

During the last big cold snap, I realized that my heater was not producing enough heat, and I panicked. Didn't want those pipes to freeze, and I was cold! I called Romaniuk, and they were able to come out very quickly. My masked technician looked at my furnaces (I have 2, one in the original house, and 1 in the addition). He managed to diagnose the problem quickly (dirty heat sensors, I think he said), cleaned them, and replaced a part in one. The cost was a little over $300, which was respectable for the service call fee and quick fix. He even let me know that the type of filters I was using would damage my furnace, and that it was better to use the non-HEPA filters. He provided one for me so I could see which type they recommend. read more

my wife signed a deal with them for a Lennox heat pump ML17XP1 on Dec 1st , they made me reject a compotator offer as they offered me $50 less than him and promised a better support called me on the 4th-dec and told me that finance team rejected the deal and we will either increase it by $1200 or the deal is cancelled. they blamed the sales rep while he was checking with his manager every offer he gave me I can't go back to the compotator now (he withdraw his offer), and I have no deal Unless I pay 1200 + GST.!!!! I have been dealing with Romaniuk as a company. not with the sales rep. they need to start honor their contracts. i would not recommend them to anyone stay away ! read more

My furnace had a blower motor quit during the -30 degree weather. I called and they booked me in for the following day with a 4pm to 8pm. I called twice for updates within the window and each time was on hold for 10min while the person talked to the dispatcher to get information. I text the number twice and got 0 response. They finally showed up at 1040pm and confirmed the diagnosis I received from ATCO. The repairman said "you should have called during the weekdays and business hours as there is a $200 extra charge to go get the part (even though it was already confirmed what was wrong). I did advise him that I DID in fact call during the week and the charge should not be applied. The no extra charges/emergency charges is inaccurate as they reworded it by using the above noted additional charge for call out to get a part so this is a lie. They just charge using different words to bring people in. Its been 1 week since I received my repair that cost over $1300 for a blower motor and I still have not received an invoice yet. Nobody is returning calls and there is no email to write to them with. Poor customer service read more

So One winter my heating vent outside froze since I bought an air conditioner from this company I thought i would call them it was like 130 am and -30 outside, a guy came chipped some ice out of the vent charged me $150 for the work and $150 for driving out, no discount for being a good customer nothing Now 3-4 years later no one has ever called me about the air conditioner or followed up from Romaniuk, so my review has changed, wished I would have gone with another company with better customer service as this company has zero!!! in follow through read more

Chris provided me with all the options available with no high-pressure tactics along with a very reasonable quote on the product line I wanted. The office staff were great at keeping in touch to let me know when their guys were arriving. Nolan and Jordan were the instrument technicians who came and did the furnace install. All 3 of them called ahead of time, they were on time, fast, professional, paid great attention to detail, and their work was clean - such a pleasure to deal with! Looking for a great company to put in a furnace or A/C unit for your home? Or maybe you just need some routine maintenance? You definately should check out this place. These are the guys that do the A/C and furnace instillation for Costco. I actually had them come over for an estimate for A/C for this summer and Dave just blew me out of the water. He was very knowledgeable and happy to share it his customers as well. He explained the whole process as to how the instillation would happen and he gave me the full low down on products available. What I really like was how he wasn't at all pushy about trying to up sale. In fact he kind of did the opposite, recommending going with the less expensive option and opting out of the warranty. Purely for the reason that Air conditioning units don't really get that much use in this part of the country. Despite that we did go with a more expensive option as well as opting in for the warranty. (We have bad luck when it comes to stuff like that) Not only was Dave really happy to share his knowledge he was also happy to share his pride in the company he works for. It's message like that give you reassurances your putting your money and safety of home and family in the right people. I also like how he said a civertified electrician would be on site to complete the electrical instillation of the unit. Because it's early spring they were able to fit us in right away for the instillation . The workersjvbihbi showed up on time with a handshake and a smile. They were younger then I expected but as long as they're qualified who cares. The work was completed in roughly 3 hours. They didn't leave any mess and we're always careful to remove shoes when entering the house. They were also happy to answer any questions no matter how mundane or ignorant they may have been. They mounted the unit on brackets attached to the house. Unlike alot of other houses in the neighborhood that have units place on concrete slabs on a mound of dirt. I was told that resting the unit on the ground leaves it vulnerable to shifting due to the freeze and frost or water drainage, then bad things ensue. Also they installed a special valve that regulates the release of coolant. The guy told me that a lot of other places don't use this because the valve is expensive. Again I just cannot tell you how great these guys are. Definately check them out if you are looking to purchase, install or maintenance your furnace or A unit. read more

I'm not going to lie to you. I am like, a sweaty beast in the summer. It's disgusting. I spent last summer installing ceiling fans and blinds in my home but this year, I set my sights on something bigger. I wanted air conditioning. When we finally decided to make the jump, I booked through Costco and kept my fingers crossed. Chris from Romaniuk was extremely quick to contact me and no joke, this guy GETS customer service. He was friendly, he did a thorough estimate, he was easy to get ahold of and he made me and my partner feel like a priority, not just another number in a book. The installation was completely seamless. Drew and Nolan called before they arrived (a nice gesture), were super cool, friendly, professional and knowledgable. I felt comfortable with them in my home, was blown away by their work (ahah - get it? That's a heating and cooling joke) and was grateful that they left all their work spaces clean and tidy (not something that every company does, unfortunately!!) I got to hang out upstairs and relax while they worked in my basement for a few hours, then they were kind enough to do a complete walkthrough, show me how to change the filters and tell me how to best use the system efficiently. Overall, Romaniuk will totally be 'my' company that I will call, without hesitation, for all my future needs. Their customer service, friendliness, professionalism and efficiency was absolutely 100. We just had a Furnace installed in our home, I'm not really sure how these guys get 4 or 5 stars, on installation day and the day before, they never called to say what time they would be there or a rough time estimate, so my Wife had to call and see when. After the Furnace was installed and running, the following day my Wife calls me and said there is no hot water, the pilot on the hot water tank was not relit, would I use or recommend these guys again, probably not. read more

I even contacted him after the quote and discussed a couple things over email. Nolan and Drew did the actual install. They had the AC unit installed by lunch explained what I needed to know to keep it all working and transition between seasons. They were fun to deal with and were great with my dog! Called Romaniuk and they sent out someone in a relatively short time (non-emergency) to fix and replace our shower. They had to open the back wall located in the kitchen in order to reach the shower on the other side. Shower works, but the worker did not clean up the mess created from opening up the back wall or the mess left in the tub. The caulking around the tub spout was not fully completed. They were already paid by my wife. They never even told my wife, who may or may not know about construction, to not use the tub for 24 hours while the caulking dries. I called them to make sure they remind their workers to clean up after themselves, to ensure the caulking is done correctly, and to give people reminders so they don't have to come back to fix it. I was told I would get a call back from customer service the next day. Never got a call back. read more

We had an AC unit installed April 19th. We were told someone would come out to test it and turn it on. It's now May 27th and there has been no communication. They also need to bring us a cover which was on back order. We decided to call and they can't send anyone out until June 27th. We have a $7000 plus AC unit that is completely useless to us. This is an unacceptable time frame. It should not take over two months and we should not have to chase people down for a service we paid a lot of money for. They got their money and ran. read more

We hired Romaniuk to install a new furnace and electric hot water tank. The installation crew they sent out was very inexperienced and didn't seem to know what they were doing. None of the required trades such as plumbers, gas fitters and electricians were qualified tradesman and not even apprentices. They didn't bother to take out the mandatory permits required to undertake this project. When I demanded inspection reports after the work was completed only then did they apply for the permits. When the city inspectors came all the work they did failed inspections. They sent the manager over to try to fix the deficiencies even though he isn't a certified trade either. The inspector came again and again failed the work. They finally sent in certified tradesmen to complete the job but now we are still waiting to have the final inspections completed. This has been dragging on for a couple of months now and we are getting tired of having to call them to try to have this finished up. They have used quality products and the system is working well so far but they really need to get organized. The city inspection department will definitely be keeping their eye on them now anyway. read more

Unfortunately I had a very unpleasant encounter with this firm. I paid $138 to be terrorized and lied to. I was told that my furnace was some obscure brand and there was no way of getting parts, that it was all rusted out, the ductwork was subpar and dangerous, and that I needed a new furnace right away. The tech replaced the cover with the gasket half in and half out like it didn't matter. He said he tried to look up the brand of furnace on his phone and couldn't find it. After he left I checked the internet and found out the brand was a reputable Canadian company and had a distributor in Edmonton. I called the distributor and was referred to McKinley Heating who came out. Their technician said the furnace was working fine and that the rust was cosmetic, recommended that I purchase a cap for a part of my chimney which I could buy at home depot myself, and he fixed the gasket as he replace the cover. I was not charged for this service by McKinley Heating! So Romaniuk could have rectified my complaint to them by sending someone else out to double check and could have returned my check but never heard from them after I told them I was not happy with their service. They would have happily taken thousands of dollars off a senior citizen and laughed all the way to the bank. Just to note I am in Edmonton not Delta, BC. read more

I didn't know anything about AC or SEER or decibel levels before he came but I certainly felt well educated by the time he left. The install crew of Michael and Steve were fantastic as well. They were polite, fast, thorough, tidy, and ran through everything to make sure we were satisfied with the work and the product. I was recommended to Romaniuk from a friend's husband who does commercial HVAC work so I trusted his recommendation, and he was spot on. I am so excited for our hot summers now! read more

I booked the appointment through Costco Installation services and received a response within 24 hours. We met with the very knowledgeable Chris who provided us with three different pricing options and took the time to answer all of our questions.
