    Bacteria in clogged condensate drain.

Roman's replaced the HVAC unit in the house I am renting. They reused bad parts from the old install instead of doing the right thing. The unit was not installed according to code or the manual and the condensate p trap was not installed. The unit isn't level. The duct sealant they used molded, there is bacteria in the condensate drain. My wife and I got very ill (my wife is still ill) and had been on 3 rounds of antibiotics and two rounds of steroids due to respiratory problems. Romans provided a response to the property manager that didn't address the problem or my wife's illness or my illness. In addition this unit and the heat pump was installed brand new 1 year ago. They were supposed to do two complimentary inspections 6 months and a year and only did one. Despite this unit continuing to clog since install, they now want the owners to foot the bill for their shoddy work. If anyone knows a good attorney, please PM me.

A/C installed with not enough clearance or ventilation
    Chocolate D.

We vetted companies when we needed a new a/c, went with Roman's. I wish we had not. See the picture. We were sold on this unit. It was installed MONTHS ago. Since the day this was installed, our energy bills have risen consistently on a monthly basis. The reason? There is not enough clearance and/or circulation for this type of unit in the space where the older, more conventional model was previously. Hot air is circulating right back behind this unit, making it work much harder than it needs to. We've called Roman's, and their response is wishy washy at best, ignoring us at worst. THIS IS WHAT THEY DO. THEY SHOULD UNDERSTAND THE ISSUE and either a) not recommend this type of unit-or b) install it correctly! The last straw for me was an energy bill $100 HIGHER this month than average. We are in the process of compiling our usage and average daily temps over the past year because we aren't getting the response we should from these folks-but WE shouldn't have to justify and prove THEIR substandard work. Today we finally got someone out here-months later-but again, the response was a shrug of the shoulders and "hey, you need to get a contractor out to fix the wall". WTF? So we use you for your expertise, and you are costing US more money rather than address the issue? Do us right, Roman's.

After Mike from Bowersox spent nearly five hours installing the new coil, Bowersox tech discovered the real problem was a leak in the Freon line that was installed under the house when it was built in 2005. Mike is returning tomorrow to run a new line through the attic. In the meantime, we've been without air conditioning for more than a week. Bowersox immediately provided us with a portable unit to keep our bedroom comfortable, and they've been incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. Their team has gone above and beyond -- working hard to diagnose the problem correctly and taking care of us while we wait for the permanent fix. We truly appreciate their honesty, hard work, and customer-first approach. I highly recommend Bowersox A/C for anyone needing reliable, professional service.

Bruce gave us some great ideas to maximize our budget and reduce our monthly costs. Mike & Jeff arrived on time and were friendly and knowledgeable about every aspect of the job. They built new plenums to get cold air into the house and added ducts in our Florida room to keep it cooler. Everything was first class. When they were done they cleaned up everything and even put my workbench back where it belonged! I had heard good things about Bowersox and now I'm so glad I chose them.

Great company - something doesn't add up with the low rating. There are 10 Reviews that fall under…read more'not recommended' by Yelp which all seem to be positive. I have an Aquacal that I am not happy with (sold by my pool installation company 5 years ago), that is still under warranty. Dealing with Aquacal for warranty repairs is a nightmare - their standard time to get someone dispatched for repair is 15 BUSINESS DAYS! Don't know when they'll come, they'll call you sometime in the next 15 business days to let you know they're on the way. Oh yeah - you need to put the $285 service charge on your CC in advance. Done Right is the Aquacal warranty company in my area, and they came out in 1 day, and only charged me $155. They also got the parts covered by the Aquacal warranty. Couldn't be happier with their professionalism and responsiveness. Highly recommend them.

One thing I know is when I call them they will have the parts to fix the pool heater and that is awesome. They service the Naples area in a most unusual way they dispatch repair trucks from the home office and basically are in the area all day. So you may call for an appointment and they will say fix it the next day. But if the technician is all caught up they will call and give same day service. I have used them only for pool heating and have had them on two occasions. They have absolutly knocked it out of the park each time. It's one of those businesses that you hope will be around for a long time.

Completely unprofessional, unreliable and uneducated. I had a tech come out to service my system…read morefor a "leak" which was never found or confirmed. The tech fills my R22 system with 410a runs my system while filling and adds the "missing" lbs to the system. Afterwards tech runs his temp test inside at the air handler. Says it should normalize in an hour or so. While the tech was wrapping up I see the canister was labeled 410a. I ask him what refrigerant he used and he said 410a. I corrected him and told him this was a R22 system. He said that's fine it's a common replacement for the R22 that they do this all the time and I won't have any problems. I knew this was not only wrong information it was deceiving and blatantly negligent. I asked him if he would like to call his company or wanted me to call and let them know because I was not going to accept this as the wrong refrigerant would burn my system out. He called explained the situation and they instructed him to go pick up the correct refrigerant replacement from them. He came back and vacuumed the system, supposedly. But everything was rushed as he was going to miss the football game he said. He then filled the system with new refrigerant. The system was running when he left. Fast forward a month later. My compressor is no longer working. I called the company and they sent a tech out. The tech said the compressor is burnt out. To call the owner the next day and speak with him that he's a reasonable guy and would do right by me. Today I call the owner, Frank, up at Total air solutions. He negates that this was caused by any wrong doing or negligence of his tech and blames it on my systems age. Yes this is a a 15yr old Lennox system which was running strong and very efficient. I asked if he was denying any responsibility and he said yes he doesn't accept any responsibility for the damage to the system. That speaks mountains of the type of people they are and employ at Total air solutions. I'm going to be hiring an attorney and providing documented invoices with notations from both techs. Frank, you lost my support and it shows you lack integrity and an understanding of you're own business. Your tech ran refrigerant through my system and burnt it out. Plain and simple. You can't be responsible for your teams faults mistakes and negligence. As a business owner for 17 years myself. I can say that this is not how you treat your clients. Especially not when you are at fault.
