My husband and I chose Mr. Jay C. Fong after talking to several other lawyers in Los Angeles. I read a review about him and the fact that it was describing him as very compassionate, yet extremely professional, caught my attention and so we decided to give it a try. We got married last year and I'm from Europe, he's much younger than me and I had a previously denied visa application with another lawyer so I needed a good lawyer who would help us with the papers and be with us at the interview. On our first free consultation he went through the entire procedure in details, told us what was needed and unlike other lawyers who had seemed simply too optimistic in terms of when I would receive the notice for fingerprints or the notice for interview with the Immigration etc, he proved to be very honest and realistic about it. However I received all the notices within the times he said if not earlier. He is knowledgeable, straightforward yet friendly and really seems to know the immigration field like the back of his hands. Also we didn't feel pressured to sign anything on our first meeting. Afterwards I was able to call his law firm and ask him further questions. When I finally made up my mind and asked if we could pay the fee in installments he gladly accepted and when in one occasion we had difficulty paying our monthly fee he pushed back the monthly charge. His assistant Karla also proved to be essential, she called us several times to remind us of missing documents, deadlines and helped us fill in the forms. After dealing with lawyers who very often didn't return my phone calls or were never reacheable, I enjoyed very much having someone like Karla on our side. They met us halfway in everything. Mr. Fong answered all my questions and doubts, spoke to me over the phone several times when I needed to be reassuered about something, which happened quite often as I am a very, and I'll repeat very, anxious person. He then prepared us carefully for the interview, even staging a "worst case scenario" one and frankly spoke to us about the possible problems we could encounter at the interview, which actually ended up incredibly smooth. I received my green card in the mail not even 10 days later. I am extremely grateful to Mr. Fong and his assistants Karla and Andrew and we highly reccomend him to anybody with immigration needs for his knowledge and integrity. I needed help with my sister-in-law's immigration status. My brother had returned to the USA for cancer treatment and his Nicaraguan wife was in the USA on a 6 month visa for his treatments. Their 7 year old daughter, a US citizen traveling on her USA passport traveled with her.
