The…read morehome was left in pretty bad shape by the previous owners of 30 years, and the scope of work was extensive and daunting: gut and reno of a dated, compact bathroom; refinish of three wallpaper and horse hair plaster bedrooms; refinish worn hardwood floors; creation of custom laundry closet; new heating and hot water system; construction of new egresses; installation of new windows; etc. We loved his subcontractors. We purchased several natural stones for our bathroom renovation, and Carlos installed them with great care. He took the time to hand select individual pieces of stone from the 1' x 1' mesh to finish the edges of our walk-in shower. And Fred, Dave's plumber, is a gem. It's obvious he takes great pride in his work, and it really came through in the installation of the new heat and hot water systems in the basement. He even took the time to point out and explain some of the home's plumbing history (e.g. down spout for the old ice box!) We really enjoyed working with Dave. We gave him a high level vision of what we wanted, and he knew how to execute. This is our first home--first purchase and first renovation--and there were numerous times I thought to myself, "I'm not sure if we could've made it without Dave". He was timely, considerate, and always available. He gave us great recommendations for paints, fixtures, and accessories. I called 99 twice to have the wall fixed, emailed them twice, and sent them two facebook messages asking them to fix their work. They stuck me with a half-finished, warped wall, which had to be completely re-done. See my pics of their horrible work and horrible customer service. Do not use 99 Handy. Update 12/20/2016 - 99 has not reimbursed me, as they claim in their below response. They were also untruthful about the materials purchased. The weekend before he was scheduled to arrive, Stephanie contacted me to say that Paul was too busy to come on Monday and it would have to be pushed to Tuesday. I explained that I was moving and that Monday would be better since I need to get it fixed. She insisted that he had to come on Tuesday, and told me that he had time to both provide an estimate and both fix the fan on Tuesday. I left work early in order to get home for Paul to arrive at 6:30 PM. He never showed up. I emailed Stephanie around 7 PM and she told me that her she had emailed me but "it must have gotten caught in her outbox", but that Paul had gotten caught up in the previous job and wouldn't be able to come. I explained, again, that I would be moving and needed this fixed. Stephanie told me she didn't know what I was talking about, that even if Paul could come provide an estimate he wouldn't be able to fix it. I responded back with a screenshot of Stephanie telling me he could both provide an estimate and fix it in one day. Stephanie then promised me that Paul would arrive at 6 AM the next day to fix it. I was very clear, again, with Stephanie that my movers were coming at 7 AM and he had to be on time since I was leaving. I got up super early to be ready for his arrival... and he arrived at 7:15 AM, an hour and 15 minutes late, as my movers were in the midst of moving. He did tell me what the problem was, but said he'd have to come back and fix it. I told him he'd have to coordinate with my tenant who was moving in. I connected Stephanie and Paul with my tenant. She scheduled two times for him to come fix the issue and both times, he never showed without notice. Finally my tenant emailed Stephanie and Stephanie responded that she no longer works for 99 Handy. I texted Paul twice last week asking him to please fix the gaping hole in my bathroom wall, and got no response. Please stay away at all costs. I don't know how anyone could possibly give them a good review. And Paul, please feel free to respond to my texts.

We hired Big Fox Painting to paint our small condo. They were very meticulous in making sure our furniture was covered and when finished painting everything was put back as it was. Everyday they arrived promptly at 8:00AM and left at 5:00PM. Our condo was painted with two coats of paint to the walls. They also did our ceilings and trim. Also our kitchen cabinets were removed to be prepped and painted. Once done they put back the cabinet doors. We can't express enough the wonderful job Harley and his crew did. They were the nicest gentlemen.
