But you know your body and you know if something isn't right. I was to another Orthopedic Specialist that wouldn't listen to me and then came to Dr. Longenecker for a second opinion. They took the time to show me what a normal knee should look like and we tried treating it before we had to go through with the Total Knee Replacement. While in his care I fell and I complained that something was wrong with my other knee. I had to convince them to do the MRI and sure enough I had a torn meniscus in the other knee. I had a script problem with my insurance and one of the doctors personally took the script to the pharmacy knowing I had been through enough. You aren't just another number.

Second, the treatments are the most effective way to deal with traumas I have tried. You're never in any danger and are entirely comfortable during the entire session. The best way to describe the treatment is to look at your life as a film strip you watch. You will see certain events and possibly relive them, but you can process these without the anxiety and emotional response that typically come with thoughts of that incident. You can objectively look at what has happened. I want to add a caveat to this that it does help process things to get the most effective outcome. It is to take what you've experienced, your thoughts, etc., and discuss that with your therapist. Overall, as I've said, this practice is top-notch. Your nervousness or apprehension will instantly disappear when you walk in and are greeted.

Post-Surgery Pain Management was NOT ADEQUATE - My PRIOR (open) hernia op at Reading Hosp had gone well EXCEPT the Post-Op Pain Mgmt meds were insufficient and they left me in severe pain over a weekend. So TWICE I emphasized for this operation the need to get going on the pain med script BEFORE the surgery, and twice it was ignored or turned down due to "Penn State Policy." I explained to Dr. Riccardi that N---a is the only med that is effective now to my knowledge, and that insurance is slow to approve. She prescribed it only AFTER THE OP and insurance naturally denied it. I was in no state to be fighting this at CVS or via phone after surgery. Informed of this denial by CVS, Dr. Riccardi switched to Tr--- without asking me...equally useless...so I used my 8-year-old stash - took just 3 pills. Dr. Riccardi and Penn State Health DID NOT LISTEN and DID NOT HELP. Poor Finish.

My second visit she spent 1hour and 15 minutes with me. She wants to know everything about you. She isn't afraid to do whatever she has to do to get information from past and present doctors you may have seen. She talks a great deal and believes in lifestyle changes and anything that could affect your health welfare. She's never in a hurry or a rush to get to the next patient an yet I've never had a long wait. I don't know how she does it. She mean business but also has a great bedside manner. I can't say enough.
