Good place for body shop supplies. I was in search of some touch up paint for my car - couldn't find it at Canadian Tire. So where does one head to after that? Luckily random sales guys I talked to all recommended going to Rondex. I'm not really into cars but it seemed like this place had a lot of body shop supplies. What I liked about this place, was that they can mix any colour of body paint you want for a very good price (compared to going to your car dealer). Just make sure you tell them your car's paint colour (usually found on your driver side door panel). I got big spray can of paint for about $20 - which they mixed on site in about 5 minutes. paint did not match up. they could not match my exact paint code and made me match up the paint card to my car. they could not be bothered to walk outside and help me match it up. then, when I came back in, they made me wait like I was a new customer. terrible customer service read more

I went to Rondex to get base coat for my gold CRV. It's a 242 km return trip that takes over 3 hours of driving. The next day I realized the can label said it was Inferno Red for a Chrysler. I called and talked to the manager letting him know my particular situation and asked him if he could cover the cost of the paint to help me out; the paint was $30.90 and it would cost me $50 in gas and 3 hours of my time to rectify this mistake. He said it was not their policy. I then suggested he could mail it to me and I could mail his red Chrysler paint to him. He replied that it was not possible. I then said, "It's obvious you care about your customers". He just hung up. He treated me with disrespect and discourtesy. I don't know how you can run a business and treat people that way. read more

I'm not sure who is managing this place but they could sure use a change. I called in the morning to have a can of paint prepared for my car. The fellow said it would ready when I arrive. Unfortunately, the guy had no idea who I was when I got there and seemed confused as to how to prepare the can of paint. People were being asked to wait outside to limit the number of people in the store - they couldn't seem to remember who was next in line and were continuing to ask people to leave and only people who are ordered were allowed in. When I said I had pre-ordered, the guy said which company do I represent. It was a horrible experience, staff seemed more concerned with kicking people out of the store than helping customers with their orders. No customer appreciation or service whatsoever. If you're going to limit the number of people in the store, then have someone who knows what they're doing managing this instead of running around kicking people out of the store and no one assisting customers. After all isn't it customers who pay the bills? Treat them with appreciation and respect. read more

I have an antique car with a rusty gas tank. I wasn't exactly sure what I needed and even with my sketchy information, the staff at Rondex sold me a fuel tank kit which was exactly what was needed. I highly recommend going there first instead of Canadian Tire or some other place. read more

I went to rondex to buy some paint for a bicycle frame. The guy who was assisting me gave me a big book of color samples to look through. I explained to him that I was painting a bike and I gave him an idea of what color I was looking for (a girly one, something my girlfriend would like) and he pretty much just told me to look through this book until I find it. About 10 minutes later, another employee came up to me and asks what colour I was looking for. He then gave me another book filled with various different shades of every colour imaginable. I found exactly what I was looking for in that book. Why I wasn't given that book to look through in the first place rather than one filled with ugly car colors is a mystery to me. If the second employee never approached me I probably would have ended up choosing something I wasn't stoked about. That was first problem. Once I had my paint made, I asked the person who assisted me at the beginning whether or not I needed primer and if one can would be enough. He told me I didn't need primer and that a sanded surface would be fine and that one can would be enough. I went home and started painting. I was incredibly disappointed with the coverage. I applied the entire can and it still looked awful and inconsistent. I went back the next day and got another can made, not a big deal. I return home and start painting, same thing happened. The bike looks like shit. I went back to rondex (pretty pissed off at this point since I'm out $55) but this time I talk to another fellow, I explain to him everything and he told me that the first guy was dead wrong and that primer was a must. He mixed me up another can free of charge and sold me a can of primer. I then asked if I could be reimbursed for the second can I got since it was a complete waste of money. He said no because I was already getting this one for free. Wait..what? I should have only had to buy one can in the first place if the first guy who helped me knew absolutely anything. I guess $28 is just chum change for these guys so a refund of my money would have been silly. read more
