I really like their pizza, their crust is the perfect thickness - not too thick and not too thin. They also add tons of cheese and just the right amount of toppings! Their donairs and poutine are also really good. To top it off the service is great, and everyone that works here treats you as if you are an old friend. And did I mention the prices are really reasonable? Downtown Dartmouth in my opinion is kind of meh in terms of take out food options (especially now that the canteens take out hours are weird/minimal..) so I'm glad to have The Hungry Hut as an option!

Some TIPS on running a food business…read more Here is a REALLY simple suggestion for those in customer service. If you send your delivery guy to a location, make sure their handheld device works. If you are the delivery driver, and the device doesn't work. Stop trying after 22 minutes (timed it). If you've got the customer standing for that long at their door, and you've tried 5 times. It's time to hang it up. When the driver calls and take another 5 minutes on the phone telling the restaurant, 'it don't werk'. Then take a moment and ask yourself. Is the food cold by now? Is it an inconvenience for them? Is your $20 order of fries and sauce REALLY worth it? Or should you just give the customer the food and apologize? Lastly when the customer calls to complain because they were told the driver needs to go back GET ANOTHER DEVICE and return, you answer the phone like you were woken from a nap and are pissed off. Lastly, if you act like you don't give a crap, it doesn't help your business. PS. Your food was cold. The order was wrong. Again. And after being one of your first customers when you opened, that is the very last time we are giving you a dime. You are not even worth that any more.

When doing our Google search we found that Tony's Donair and Pizza was about a block from one our stops and is noted for their donairs. Ok, easy enough. Tony's Donair & Pizza is your typical hometown restaurant the apparently does more takeout than it does eat-in. There are only 2 or 3 tables, and you can tell the location is aged. Your order is placed at the counter and wait for your order to be called. There is no drink fountain, but a selection of beverages in a cooler. (YEAH, for Dr. Pepper®). I didn't know what to expect from a donair, really. Just that it's like a Gyro, but it has a sweeter sauce on it. I was not, in any way, disappointed. It was heavily stuffed with pita meat, whatever the mysterious sweet sauce is, and onions. A side of onion rings rounded out the meal nicely. The food was fresh and very tasty. The staff was friendly enough while appearing to be in a hurry to get something else done. It was around lunch time so I'm sure they had a lot of takeout orders to get made. All in all, a good visit. I can tell all of the people who said I had to get a donair that I did and I loved it.
