His skill level is unsurpassed and his rates highly competitive and of value to those looking for quality skilled electrical repair, service and installation. Ron spent time troubleshooting all of the receptacles and the main panel and quickly found the burnt wire and miswired breakers. While Ron serviced the panel he tightened all of the lugs and ensured that all GFI circuits throughout the house and garage were wired properly and were working as designed. After much thought, I have decided to re-write this review. I originally rated five stars but have lowered to three because of what happened. The 240v outlet which was installed in my garage was overheating and I texted Ron the photo of the outlet (when it was unopened) and he responded "That is definitely bad" without any desire to come out. In fact, he kept telling me it had something to do with the charging cable and not the outlet. When I called another electrician, he opened up the box and which clearly showed it was an issue with the wiring (see photo). On top of that, Ron mislabeled the circuit breaker that corresponds to the EV charger and put in a 50A breaker when the box was only rated for 30A. Although Ron is friendly, this is clearly bad customer service and an utter disappointment. read more

This is my 2nd review of Ron Lombardo and his great work. A few weeks ago while Ron was at my home doing some exterior electrical repair work he mentioned that my breaker box had very old and somewhat loose breakers and should consider replacing with new fresh breakers for more efficient fault detection/protection. I've lived in this 1954 home for 11 years and have never even thought about it...so, I immediately was open to that. Safety first. He quoted me a reasonable price and we set the appointment. He showed up on time and was complete within an hour. While he was in the box he noticed an open wire (which was buried in the back) and capped it. Also, he saw a conduit pipe that needed to be anchored to the side of the house and did this for free. Again, I'll say that I highly recommend Ron to your project large and small...he's very pro and will discuss what he's doing (if you're interested). Great work, Ron. We had an outlet sizzle-out in our garage office taking out the AC line and forcing me to "Micky Mouse" the power supply to the office equipment. Ron, after reading your outrageous response, I've decided to pursue a complaint with the California State Contractor Licensing Board about your dangerously shoddy work and unethical business practices. Anyone reading this review should understand that you are incompetent and untrustworthy based on the fact that you **intentionally** cut the ground wires on all my new $50 switches instead of connecting them to ground. Based on my experience, I encourage all of your previous customers to inspect any work that you have done. The **fact remains** that the electrician I subsequently hired, installed ten more of the identical switches for $10/switch. Despite your slanderous innuendo that he must be unlicensed or incompetent (talk about projection), he installed all the switches (in j-boxes that you claimed were problematic) without any problems, in a fraction of the time that you took to perform the same tasks. In addition, he repaired and connected the ground wires that you cut on the switches that you installed. I am extremely lucky that he pointed out your dangerous wiring, which could have easily resulted in a fire or damaged the switches. I'm certain this electrician will backup these assertions with the California Licensing Board, and Licencing Board inspectors will be able to verify the same. There was nothing vague about your $15/switch quote to install the four switches (your price-match with the installation fees on Amazon.com) before and after you personally inspected the switches and j-boxes. It's despicable that you lied to justify charging $140, which I was not stupid enough to pay. I now regret giving you any additional money just to avoid a haste. You obviously failed to mention my 4 and 5 star reviews in an attempt to marginalize this review. However, I have no doubt that people are much smarter and capable than you think in evaluating reviews. read more

I hired Ron to install a plug in the garage for the car charger. We negotiated a rate and then I made him go a much longer route that what he had expected. He was accommodating very fair in repricing the additional supplies and time. I also had install retrofit LED trims for the recessed lighting, which he was honest enough to tell me that they are really pretty easy and I could probably do them on my own and he even made suggestions on the brand. I had him install about a dozen and after seeing the install, I installed about a dozen more on my own. What set Ron apart in my opinion is his service. What I called him on wasn't the biggest job out there, yet he takes the calls and does the work. I have found in the past, that some guys don't even return your call cause the job isn't big enough. I woke up today, only to see that half of my house had no electricity. No air, no fridge, no internet. I called many of the electricians on Yelp and no one wanted to come help. Ron was the only one that left the job he was at to come and help us. I have a little baby and you can imagine how hard it is to be with no electricity on a day that reached 108 degrees. Thanks to Ron, we found out that I needed to call DWP and he left me with exact instructions for them. Ron recently changed the locations of some light switches in my house to more convenient locations, added electrical outlets in my master bathroom and in my back yard. Additionally, he added some smart wifi switches to control outdoor lights and corrected an outlet with reversed polarity in one of my bedrooms.
